Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hello one and all I've just signed up to the forum. I just bought a 1997 Ford Ka 1.3 style, as a runabout second car. Its only done 32572 miles and it's a great, fun little car. It has the usual HCV problem so I'll get that sorted, but the other issue is one I need some advice on. I have some new plastic bumper clips to replace the broken ones, but the location holes in the steel seem to be too big to hold the clip securely. Possibly corrosion has affected them. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to get around this problem? Many thanks, Dean (Amazingmin)
  2. Hi there, Could any one please help me identify this part or a link to where to buy one please. (I have tried FordParts, eBay etc etc but can't ID it to buy one). It is the little clip that holds the weather seal of the door to the actual door, I broke one of the little tabs so now it is as useful as a chocolate fire guard. Thanks
  3. Hello all, I'm trying to order the clips used to attach the front wheel arch liners on 2007 Fiesta. The expanded parts diagram I've found online hasn't been much use, I don't have the old clips for comparison and I see several different size clips being sold as suitable As best as I can tell, there are 6 fixings per liner. 4 of them have circular holes (green) and 2 are slotted (red) so I'm guessing there are 2 different types of clip needed here? If anyone happens to know the correct clips, I'd be very grateful!
  4. Hi, I have a late 2010 Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi, with a 6 speed box. It has a lift-up collar for selecting reverse. The other day, it would go into reverse, but wouldn't come out. I lifted the gaiter up, and found the round black plastic clip (plus a small piece of silver plastic inside it) that attaches the gear knob to the reverse selector had broken off. It is only a minor inconvenience, as I can just manually reach below the gear knob and pull the selector up when I want reverse, and it correctly disengages from reverse when I move the stick back to the right. However, whilst my car was in today for a different fault, I asked the garage to take a look. They are telling me you can't buy the clip separately, and have to buy the whole selector unit from Ford, at a cost of £220! Can anyone verify if this is true? I can't post a picture of the broken clip at present, as it's still in the car at the garage, but if you've ever had to lift the gaiter up it will be obvious which it is. The garage has always seemed to be honest with me in the past, but I find it hard to believe in this instance. If it is true, then shame on Ford for such blatant profiteering.
  5. Hello, I'm after some advice... Last Sunday I was driving along and when I changed gear my clutch pedal suddenly clicked and its not been the same since... It was quite loud at first but then gradually got quieter. It was something I could feel as well as hear. Now it's not really audible but the feeling of the pedal is horrible. It's got the clicky jolt when I depress the clutch and its not as firm as it was before. I managed to get my head down there and look to see what was happening and there is a rod that comes from the master cylinder? that goes onto the back of the pedal assembly which is slipping every time I depress the pedal. Should there be some kind of clip that holds this rod in place on the back of the pedal or has something bent that would keep the rod in the right place. Any assistance is muchly appreciated! :) Thanks
  6. Broken Number Plate Light Clip
