Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Omex rev limiters

I know you have to have a de-cat pipe to have one of these as it'll just blow your cat up, but what I wanna know is can you still have the standard manifold? Thanks people
  2. Hi I've just finished fitting a new steering wheel on my mk3 focus ST. I've activated it in the ECU using the FoCCCus software and removed the DTCs with the Forscan software but there's one DTC leftover. (I'm not sure if this is the cause of the issue) Needless to say that both the cruise module and the other module on the right don't work. Any help here would be appreciated so I don't have to take it to the garage and no doubt, pay through the teeth for it. Thanks
  3. Rear Trailing Arm Bush

Hi, I recently replaced my front control arms on my Ford Focus 2010 1.6 TDCi. I now need to replace the rear trailing arm bushes and was hoping someone in the community could provide me with some 'idiot' proof instructions? I used Haynes for the front of the car but it hasn't been too helpful when working on the rear of the vehicle. I was hoping to replace the rear bushes without removing the whole arm and wondered if anybody had a good method for doing this, preferable without buying a special tool i.e. using a combination of sockets and clamps? Thanks in advance for your help, Stophen.

  5. Ford Focus 2014 Aircon

The aircon on my 2014 Focus failed after about 8000 miles and it being just over 1 year old. The garage want £470 to fix it and say it isn't a warranty item as the condensor has been damaged by road debris. I've spoken to Ford Customer care and they are taking the side of the garage. My argument is that if it has been damaged at such a low mileage then the condensor is not adequately protected and it is a design fault and Ford should pay for the repair (or at a minimum contribute). Ford however completely disagree and say they are unwilling to help in any way whatsoever. Naturally I'm concerned this problem may re-occur. Is anybody aware of this being a common problem, or can anybody offer any advise as to what I might do? Thank you
  6. My dad has just got a mk7.5 titanium & under his central heater control he has a digital read-out. On my mk7 zetec I have a black space-saver which looks like a card holder.. I was wondering if anybody has managed to do anything productive with it, along with any other interior detail modifications alike?
  7. My dad and i had a discussion about this earlier - When it is icy what is best traction control off or on? I thought off as you don't want it to compensate for ice as it could put you in more danger, make you skid wheel spin etc My dad said if you have it on surely it will help you not skid or wheel spin? I've always read that it is best to have it off, whenever it's icy i turn it off i was just curios as to what everyone else though?!:) Thanks Jon
  8. Hi, I'm new here and new to owning a Ford Focus (I own a 52 plate, MK1). Sorry if a guide has been posted but I have searched high and low for a guide or any hints/tips and cannot find anything. So, I've just bought a stereo (Sony MEX-N4000BT) and it says on it that it is steering wheel control compatible. Now, I've got the gist of installing the stereo but how would I install the steering wheel stalk adapter? Also what adapter do I need, as in the make, model and what not. If anyone has got an up to date guide or a really guide for dummies like me lol, I will appreciate it. Thanks. Any more details, just ask. Oh, just found these two, I don't know if they are they right things to buy... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380633697794?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT & http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350440716709?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  9. So I bought one of these iPod cable adapter kits from Connects 2. It's one of these cables that allows you to trick your radio into thinking that your iPod is actually the CD changer, so it streams audio through the head unit whilst also supplying power to charge your iPod and also letting you send commands to skip next/previous track, shuffle and repeat, and also select playlists all from the buttons on your standard Ford radio (a 6000CD in my case). Unfortunately, after installing it I am only getting audio passed through/power supplied to my iPod. I've tried several models of iPod, iPhone etc and none of them can be controlled from the radio head unit as promised on the website. The guys at Connects 2 reckon it's because my Fiesta already has the Aux input port for connecting MP3 players etc, but I can't see how that would stop the CD changer from sending commands to the iPod.... I've seen it working fine with the head unit buttons controlling the iPod in videos of the same 6000CD head unit online, so I know that it is possible. I also know that certain models of Fiesta were released with the ability to have the Aux port added but not actually activated, so I'm wondering if there's a way to disable the Aux feature and if that would allow me to use the head unit buttons as promised. Anybody know anything about this stuff or know anybody who might??
  10. Hi all. Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong section but I was wondering if its possible to swap the normal analogue heater / ac controls for the climate control ones in a 2012 Fiesta? Thanks in advance. Rich
  11. At the moment I have 2 keys for my focus, but only one remote, I'd like to have a second remote, the fact is ford charges quite a lot of a second remote, I'd like to save money. I saw these remote control duplicators on sale on aliexpress.com, they are really cheap, has anyone tried them yet ? http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/523662775-Free-shipping-4-channel-cloning-remote-control-Copy-Code-Remote-wholesalers.html this works at 433.92 Mhz http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/504729566-free-shipping-4-CH-button-Cloning-copy-duplicating-RF-switch-s-remote-control-original-remote-control-wholesalers.html this works both at 315 Mhz and 433.92 Mhz and then there is the remote master http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/585160179-Free-shipping-Super-remote-master-for-copy-kinds-of-wireless-RF-remote-controller-Digital-counter-remote-wholesalers.html that can copy all sorts of remote controls any advice ?
  12. Hi, I bought my 2000 reg ford fiesta 4 days ago now. The heaters are stuck on hot. I have replaced the heating control valve and i got a replacement control panel thats in the car, that you use to control the heating system. I replaced them both today and i still have the same problem. I have also cleaned the contacts up on the plugs, incase anything had got inside them. i dont have air conditioning. Its a simple hot/cold system Also the previous owner had decided to cut the wire to the heater control valve (hcv) and connect the power source up to the battery, this made the blowers cold ( i assume they did this so they didnt bake). I had taken it to my mechanic and he said it may have caused a fire as the hcv would of had two much power going to it. He connected back up to the original wires, and this made the blowers blow hot. He said either part would need replacing so i replaced both. those being the hcv and the control pannel. PLEASE HELP :-(
  13. Heater Control Valve Problem

Hi, I've recently changed the heater control valve on my 2001 ford fiesta to solve the problem that I was only getting hot air through my heaters. I changed the hcv yet the problem still remains. I had cold air temporarily but when I turned the dial to hot it got hot but remained so. Any ideas what the problem could be if its not the hcv?
  14. Climate Control...

HI guys, Just wondering if anyone has fitted this instead of the manual version, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-RS-ST-Silver-Digital-Climate-Heater-Control-Unit-cheapest-Ebay-/320917070109?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ab825e11d#ht_975wt_1270 Looks quite a sweet upgrade tbh...just need to find a facia for it, for the stereo etc...
