Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi gang, Has anyone had any experience of replacing the stock panel air filter and box on a MK2.1.6TDCI with a cylindrical performance filter like the K&N 57s-4000? I could opt for the box-free cone but I'm much more excited by the idea of the cylinder. I'm mainly wondering if the airbox lid of the K&N would be a direct fit to the existing box, and if any additional piping would be necessary. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Sam.
  2. Hi i recently discovered i had no compression on cylinder 2 of my mk2 2005 focus. I have just finished removing the head to investigate the problem. I have found a chunk missing out of one of the valves, but cannot see where the piece of valve has gone. Should this be of concern and warrant further investigation or could it have just sent it into the exhaust? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Hi i am just starting the process of removing the cylinder head on my 1.6 petrol mk2 focus. The haynes manual says you have to remove the front sub frame. i would be grateful for any advise as to if this is true. Or ang other tips in that area if possible. Thanks
  4. Hi all. After I try to replace my glogplugs, the head of one of the plug would not come out. So try I drilled it out, but can't get the pices up by the injector hole. Im now decide to remote the head and fix it. Does anyone know a guide to remote the head on the 1.6 TDCI (PSA) engine ? Thanks :) (Hobe my english is OK)
  5. hiya im a new member as of today, im sorry if this is in the wrong section but i was wondering if anyone has got a cylinder head for the mondeo ive described in the title for sale? 2 inlet valves are bent on cylinder 2 and the head is warped so i cant find any decent excuse to refurb it. \if anyone has one layng around for sale please lt me know Cheers Bradley P.S. iirc the cylinder heads are the same for both 1.8 and 2.0 zetec lumps
  6. Hello, I'm after some advice... Last Sunday I was driving along and when I changed gear my clutch pedal suddenly clicked and its not been the same since... It was quite loud at first but then gradually got quieter. It was something I could feel as well as hear. Now it's not really audible but the feeling of the pedal is horrible. It's got the clicky jolt when I depress the clutch and its not as firm as it was before. I managed to get my head down there and look to see what was happening and there is a rod that comes from the master cylinder? that goes onto the back of the pedal assembly which is slipping every time I depress the pedal. Should there be some kind of clip that holds this rod in place on the back of the pedal or has something bent that would keep the rod in the right place. Any assistance is muchly appreciated! :) Thanks
