Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Facelift conversion?

Hi guys, I'm new here, so I thought that I would start with a very small question. Can a Mk1 facelift front bumper be put onto a pre-facelift version? I'm encouraged to believe it will from looking at pictures. After all, the headlights appear to be the same, but I could be mistaken and it never hurts to ask :-) Many thanks, Paul
  2. Loose Heated Washer Jet Mk2

Hi, I recently removed the washer jets from my mk2 Focus so that I could apply silicone grease as I heard that leaks from there were a common problem and I've already had an issue with this! However, when I tried to connect the jets back, the left one (when you look at car at from the front) felt loose in the bonnet hole and I could move it about. The right one had no problem and clicked in place when I pushed it back into the bonnet. The loose jet wouldn't click. The water hose looks as though it's connected properly to the jets and water shoots out of them fine. I have heated jets and it looks as though both the water hose and wire from the jets are clipped properly in the hooks on the bonnet. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this?! I'm a fairly new driver and I do not know huge amounts about cars yet...! Thank you!
  3. Engine/gearbox Compatibility?

Hi. So ive got a 1.8 mk1 focus zetec. The bottom end is rattling, hence; knackered. However, im looking to do an engine change. I've spotted a mint 2.0 automatic engine. Question is, will this fit straight up to my manual gearbox and is there any ACTUAL difference between a manual engine and this one that i need to be aware of? All help welcome.
  4. hi first post and i need help with putting my triple din fascia back on. i had to get my radio serial number so removed all the fascia and heater controls and everything went fine. now when ive tried to put back together, i cant seem to get the right dial to connect with the green cylinder behind it. as a result i cant change the direction of the heaters. has anyone had the same problems or know of a solution? cheers (it is the green thing on the right under the arrow that i cant get to interlink with the dial)
  5. Okay so on my travels through the world wide inter-web thingy I have stumbled across some cheap parts for what could be an interesting retrofit project. Basically the components to create puddle lights in the wing mirrors as follows: http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_door_mirror_puddle_lamp_wire_2007_f_4506924_c_683.htm http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_door_mirror_puddle_lamp_rh_2009_f_1675129_c_683.htm http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_door_mirror_puddle_lamp_lh_2009_f_1675130_c_683.htm The cost works out at £25. I can imagine it requires the mirror unit to be removed to cut out the hole, then running some wires to the control unit. I have noticed before that there is a square marked out on the underside of the unit for the puddle light unit so would just be following the lines. Any feedback welcome, not sure if I will go along with this, but as money is tight and I really want to have a go at some sort of car based cheapish project. if those words can be used in the same sentence :P
