  1. ELM327 FORScan adapter

Does anyone know if this adapter will be any good for FORScan https://www.amazon.co.uk/ELMconfig-500kbit-compatible-interface-diagnostics/dp/B01F0GVBWY The version on Amazon US has good reviews but UK Amazon has barely any. Here is the US Amazon version https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F0GVBWY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#productDetails Sorry of this is in the wrong section.
  2. Elmconfig Or Forscan

Downloaded both pieces of software, just wondering what peoples experiences of both are and what the difference is between the two. Also what is the latest version of Elmconfig? I have 0.2.10. Thanks
  3. Hi Guys, I've using the ODBC cable recently with forscan to get a more indepth knowledge of the health of my car. In particular I wanted to read stats on the DPF including the distance to ashful (when i'll have to fork over upwards of €1000 to replace :( ) and tracking the regens. However when I go to forscan, add the PIDs and start recording the DPF values give me nothing. Theres no pressure, 0.0, 100k km to ashfull (assume this is a default value?) and 0.0 since last regen. Is there something I'm missing here? is it my cable? I have an ELM327 cable that I got from my dad. It can read the RPM PID just fine so I assume it is working.. Im just idling in the driveway here as well but I wouldn't have thought I need to be driving to read these values.
  4. FORscan activate reverse camera

Hello guys, my name is Terry and I'm new here. I have a question about FORscan. Next week I'm going to build in my reverse camera, I already have received the products I need. I have a simple OBD2 scanner (WiFi interface), is this going to work? I own a MacBook and I do have Windows 10 installed on this. Or do I need an older version of Windows? I do have this OBD2 scanner: http://pasteboard.co/Hbra0Vzb.png There's no switch on it. Is this a problem? Can anyone please tell me how I can activate my reverse camera on my own? Which digits do I have to change in order to activate the camera? Of course I will get an error message now, since the camera is not installed yet. The dealer asks £45 to do this... Maybe it's easier to change this myself. I have a Ford Fiesta 2013 125HP ST-Line. Left hand steering wheel. Thank you in advance. -Terry
  5. Dear all,Hello I'm after some help if possible. I have a MK1 2004 C max 1.6 petrol and I've been having intermittent problems with starting. It seems to happen more when I've used it on several short journeys into town during the day. It starts fine and then after a few stop and starts it won't fire and takes a good couple of minutes to get going. No real smell of petrol present. So far I've serviced the car, changed plugs, change coil pack and leads for a used tested part, changed T Map sensor, cleaned throttle body and cleared the PCM. It went okay for around a week but problem started again. I've used Forscan to identify the problem and the only fault code is U9100-20I've read this may be a communication problem caused by the instrument cluster / dash but I can't see how this would effect the car starting. Any help would really be appreciated. Many thanks.
  6. DRL on 2011 Fiesta (EU)

I would like to enable DRL on a 2011 EU Fiesta... I found the correct value to be modified with ForScan, and it works. Unfortunately I see that the beam is too strong to be DRLs ... it's about 90% of the standard beam. Is there a way to change this value to a lower one (i.e. 50% - 60%)?
  7. So I'm trying to figure out if I can retrofit a 2015 fiesta stereo with DAB into my 2014 zetec (I know I will have to change the antenna, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it). I am trying to figure out if it is possible to activate the DAB with a modded ELM 327 and Forscan, or whether it needs the proper Ford IDS with VCM. I've read that @iNath has reprogrammed and activated cruise control for people before so I am wondering if it is possible that I can do it myself. A small sidenote about sync too, do I need to purchase a separate APIM module if I upgrade? or is is built into the head unit when I buy one? Can I also use the same screen as it will not be a sony unit and everything looks the same apart from DAB?
  8. Hello, I recently bought a cheap EML327 Chinese cable and while using it with FORScan, I found many fault codes from different modules. From what I understand, errors starting with "U" should be nothing worrying, but what about the others? I'll attach here the text file, in case anyone with more experience would like to take a look. Again, thanks in advance for any help. ===PCM DTC P1402-61=== Code: P1402 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Metering Orifice Restricted Additional Fault Symptom: - Signal is Above Maximum Threshold Status: - DTC Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Powertrain Control Module Diagnostic Trouble Code details Exhaust Gas Recirculation Metering Orifice Restricted ===END PCM DTC P1402-61=== ===ABS DTC U1900-A0=== Code: U1900 - CAN Communication Bus Fault - Receive Error Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is On for this DTC Module: Anti-Lock Brake / Traction Control Module Diagnostic Trouble Code details CAN Communication Bus Fault - Receive Error This DTC may be caused by : CAN communication fault EPB coded on a non EPB vehicle. 9. Hi I am wondering if anyone can help me with a fault on my ford focus I have been driving it and it has been cutting out, the dash flashed with engine malfunction, power steering malfunction and transmission malfunction, with the red indicator flashing and a loud audible alarm It has been to a garage and they seem to not have a clue, have tried a brake switch and said they had cleaned up some electrical connections but the problem still occurs Sometimes the car won't start and the red indicator flashed and nothing happens, sometimes I also lose the mileage reading and it is replaced with dashed lines I have found that if I hit above the IC, the car starts or restarts if it cuts out during motion I have attached copies of the forscan codes I obtained tonight after doing some research on here Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do i need to get the IC repaired? I would really appreciate anyones help in getting this sorted and getting rid of this annoying intermittent fault Thanks Steve after IC module forced reset.txt log engine off.txt log engine on.txt
  10. What recommendations do we have for a Forscan lead to use with an IPad? just had a look about and now totally confused, would prefer to use the IPad as my laptop is a bit on the slow side, but could use that if it may be better again not sure of which lead to use for that. Seems to be a lot of cheap clones about, are they ok?
  11. I've recently used ForScan to see if I can figure out why I'm getting a lumpy/vibration in 5th gear when accelerating. I recorded about 20 minutes data last night but upon reviewing it, I can see some odd values, notably the alternator output voltage drops to zero a few times. Also the average distance between regeneration falls to zero 7 times during the trip and that cannot be right. I'm using a bluetooth ELM327 device connected to a laptop on the passenger seat and no power saving is activated so I cannot see any reason to lose the signal/connection. Just wondered if other people have the same experience. If you'd not tried it, I'd recommend it as it's free and will allow you to read and clear fault codes but also has some other cool features like manually invoking a DFP regen. I've not tried that yet though.
  12. I know forscan goes up to windows 7, just wondering if anyone has tried using it with windows 8? I need to do a DPF reset after changing it.
  13. Forscan Dtc Codes

Hi All, I have used FORscan for the first time today and have read my DTC Codes of which I am getting the following: Module: PDM - Passengers Door Control Unit & Module: DFDM - Driver Door Control Unit DTC - B2089 This is coming up as - "Puddle / Approach Lamp Fault" however both approach lights and indicators lights are fully working, they do have LED's in them could this be the issue? Module: GEM - Generic Electronic Module DTC - U2030 This is for - "Rain Sensor Communication Fault", we have noticed that occasionally the sensor does not pick up the rain and by turning off the engine and back on again it sort of resets itself....could this be an indication that the sensor is on it's way out? Module: PCM - Powertrain Control Module DTC - U0140 This is listed as "Lost Communication With Body Control Module" not too sure whether to be concerned with this or not. I have cleared all the codes and re-read them and the only ones to come back is B2089. Never really looked at DTC's before so not sure if for these it is more info than anything else. Thanks - Jason
