  1. Hi all, Thought I'd join up and say hello as I've just bought a 2001 Fiesta Flight 1.3 for the wife to use as a runabout and even though it was (relatively) cheap I have a sinking feeling it might end up being a bit of a money pit for me, so will be looking on the forums for some DIY things to help maintain the car and save money in the long run. I've already had to do the battery as it came with what may as well have been a 9v from an old smoke alarm it was that crap, and the recent cold weather finished it off for good. First thing to do next weekend is flush and replace the coolant, as a quick inspection of the expansion tank this morning revealed it is most definitely rusty orange rather than bright red! Wish me luck! Tom
  2. Hi, I've got a 1998 ford Ka (with an endure engine), at high speeds (normally around 50mph) the engine experienced repeated surging (high revs) happening about once every 2 seconds for around a second at a time. This surging can continue for up to 10 minutes, and continues even if the car is slowed down or sped up (i've tried changing up and down too, but this makes no difference). Does anyone know a potential cause of this issue? Any help would be great
  3. Hi guys, I have a MK3 Fiesta which has fitted in it a Mondeo's Endura DE engine that produces 90 bhp from what I have read. I boosted this engine to 20 psi so I can roughly say I got nearly a 100 bhp? I don't know I never dyno'd it. Now I am thinking of upgrading a bit and get a new fiesta (MK7) hopefully with a 1.6 TDCI engine (90bhp) and I want to know how this engine compares with my endura in speed, torque and economy. I am thinking of remapping the 1.6 tdci too so does it making remarkably better than the endura? I know that figures shows that the tdci is superior but when I did an acceleration test, 0-100 I made it in 9 seconds which is faster than accelerating with a tdci.

  5. Hi There!

Hi all, I am currently driving in a 1.3 Fiesta Finesse which I have had for just over a year and I'm just looking for some advice on things to do to my fiesta to make look a bit cooler and general up keeping of my wee ford. Thanks for reading!
  6. having overheating problems with my fiesta and electric fan is not kicking in were abouts on engine is thermoswitch?
  7. Hello Folks! This is my first post here and consider me fairly noob in Diesel Fuel systems. I have a 2000 Ford Focus Ghia 1.8 TDDI which is a brilliant runner other than a recent problem I noticed. I pulled into my driveway this afternoon and saw white smoke coming from under the hood. I could smell diesel and there was a trail of leakage upto my parking spot as well. I popped the hood, started the car and bam! a fountain of my precious diesel everywhere! It's the fourth injector and the leak off pipe is missing... Now I read a fair bit on the forums about how I can procure myself some of them pipes from Hellf**** but I have no idea where does is go. I see no dangling old pipe or have no clue where that pipe would go from the injector. I don't understand why would it even come off on it's own with my rather low rev and tamed driving :) I understand that it would complete a loop back to fuel system but have no clue how in this specific engine layout. Any photo is very welcome!!!!
  8. Hi, I have been working on my neighbours Y reg (99) fiesta, it is overheating as far as i can tell (no temp gauge in these cars) and i know the thermostat was faulty. i replaced the thermostat but the fan didn't kick in when the car got hot enough, the car was stationary so no air flowing through the rad. i hooked the fan up to the battery and it came to life so the fan works and i checked the fuses and they also look good so i'm left to believe its the ECT sensor. problem is i don't know where its located on this engine, i've searched online and there doesn't seem to be an exact answer to this question just suggestions where it might be, if someone could point me in the right direction with pictures would be helpful if you have them it would be appreciated. thanks Michael
  9. Hi! I recently bought a Mk5 Fiesta Flight from my parents as a first car. It's the crappy 1.3 Endura-E engine, but I got it fairly cheaply, so I can't complain. I bought it with 40k miles on the clock, and in the couple of months that I've had it, I've added another 3k. Thought I'd better check the oil today as I'm doing so many miles, and noticed that the engine coolant level is below the minimum mark (even when the engine is hot). Then I noticed what you can see in the images - it looks like some coolant has sprayed out? What do you think? Should I get it checked out at a garage? :/
  10. Help required... Car details: Fiesta MK5 (2001) Endura-E 1.3 engine. Steam started coming up from under the bonnet yesterday and we discovered a small jet of coolant spraying from inside the engine. At first we thought it was the pipe heading in to the oil filler cap, but on further inspection there is a hole in the engine block which is spraying out water when the engine is hot. I've attached a photo of the offending hole. I'm sorry that there isn't much context to it as it's a bit of a close up. If you can't tell where it is I can try to describe it... As you look into the engine bay from the front of the car, it is on the right-hand side, vertical part of the engine block. What I ask is, how easily can this be repaired? Anybody with any experience of this? Cheers, Liam
  11. Please help me find a decat manifold for the endura e engine used in ka's ?
  12. Hey people I have a mk5 fiesta but it has a crapy endura engine In it, I'm just wondering If anyone knows a decat for them I can't find a manifold anywhere but was wondering if the mk2 manifolds fit it as they are decat as standard. If not I'm gunna get one custom made, prolly not worth it but I like the noise ;) haha
