  1. After driving my Focus MK2 for over 6 1/2 Years it was time for something new. Of course it had to be a Focus MK3. Unfortunately there were only a few (very young, low mileage) used cars for same in the country which met my requirements. After a long search and even considering a brand new lower spec car I finally found a suitable replacement for my Focus MK2: 2013 Focus MK3 5-doors Champions Edition My car is a German spec Focus MK3 Champions Edition. Because of the Ford sponsorship of the Champions Leage in 2013 Ford Germany offered this special (limited) edition for a few months. My car has the following options: Engine: 1.0 ECOboost 125 PS with 6-speed manual transmission. Color: Midnicht Sky metallic. Interior: Ultimate/Lux / Charcoal Black Options: Front and Rear Parking Sensors. Active Park Assist. Active City stop. Powerfold Mirrors. Power 1-shot Up/Down Front & Rear Windows. Global opening/closing (remote control) Rear Privacy Glass. Dual Zone Climate Control. Heated Windshield. Heated Washer jets. Heated Seats. Start/Stop System. Rain Sensor. Light Sensor. Front Fog Lights. SYNC with APPlink. DDS Tyre Deflation Warning System. Hill Start Assist. The car did have 16 inch alloy wheels as standard but because I like my own 17 inch alloy Focus MK2.5 wheels a bit more I decided to install my own wheels instead of the original 16 inch alloy wheels. In my opinion these wheels look great on the Focus MK3. During winter I drive on a set of 15 inch steel Focus MK2/MK2.5 wheels with Goodyear Ultragrip winter tyres. Despite 15 inch wheels were officially never available for the European Focus MK3 they fit without any problems on the 1.0 ECOboost models. The 1.6 TI-VCT and 1.0 ECOboost versions have 278 mm front disc brakes. This is exactly the same disc size as the Focus MK2/MK2.5 versions which were available with 15 inch wheels. On other Focus MK3 engine types Ford used bigger brakes which require at least 16 inch wheels. My Focus MK3 did originally not have Cruise Control. Cruise Control was not a standard feature on the German spec Champions Edition. Strange enough the first owner did order all possible options which were available on the Champions edition except Cruise Control. Because I am used to have Cruise Control and I really miss it I decided to retrofit Cruise Control to my car. There are some aftermarket solutions to retrofit Cruise Control to a Focus MK3 but personally I do not want an extra stalk or aftermarket buttons. So I decided to retrofit the OEM Cruise Control system. Because I could not find a mint condition replacement Cruise Control steering wheel for my car I decided to modify my own steering wheel instead of buying a new one. In my opinion it looks very good. The Cruise Control switch fits perfectly into the cutout I made at the side of the steering wheel. The Cruise Control switch is a very snug fit and all edges line up perfectly. The steering wheel does look exactly the same as an original Cruise Control steering wheel. From the outside there are no visible differences. I wrote a guide about retrofitting Cruise Control to a Focus MK3. This guide can be found on the following weblink: After a few weeks I really missed the HID lights I had in my previous Focus MK2 so I decided to install new headlights. After a long search I decided to buy a pair of Sky Wing projector headlights. I installed a 4300K HID kit into the Sky Wing headlights. The light image and the light output are very good and the Sky Wing headlights look great. Next I decided to install DRL lights. I bought these lights from a Taiwanese seller on the AliExpress website. The DRL lights are made of high quality materials and look very good. Some time ago I found some illuminated rear bumper reflectors on Ebay. However the price was ridiculous so I decided to wait a little longer. A few weeks later I found the same reflectors in an internet auction. I made the seller an offer and bought the reflectors for a really good price. The illuminated rear bumper reflectors look really nice. The light output is about the same as the original taillights. I also made the following modifications to the car: * The "Focus" and "Econetic Technologies" badges removed from the tailgate. * The "Champions League" badges removed from the B-pillars. * Rear seat hinge covers installed (originally used on a focus MK1.5). * I installed front and rear Titanium interior lights with LED lights and reading lights. Because of the different wiring/connectors I made an adapter wiring loom to connect the Titanium interior lights to the standard wiring loom. * I installed the original footwell lights. I changed the red LED's to ice blue LED's (same color as original). * I changed the red/orange control lights of all switches to ice blue LED's (same color as original). * I changed the 3.5 Inch monochrome MFD display to a 5 inch Sat Nav colour display. Afterwards I retrofitted the complete OEM Sat Nav system. * I installed LED bulbs into the puddle lights. * K&N 57S air filter. This Year I plan to do some more modifications on the car. The next modifications are on my wish list: * New instrument cluster with a bigger display. * New OEM rearview camera.

  3. Pleased to say that in the coming months I should officially be able to join Stoney's so called jammy beggars club! :P I have ordered a new 2015 Mk3.5 Focus ST-3 2.0 EcoBoost in Deep Impact Blue, with: Rear Privacy GlassHeated Steering WheelPremium Nav with Sony speakers & Sub.Rear View CameraDriver Assistance PackIt is a factory order, so I do have a bit of a wait, the car is currently scheduled for an unspecified September build, but reading about the delays with the ST (particularly ST-3), hopefully I will get it before my car is 1 yr old and needs taxing and servicing, at least before Christmas! As some of you will know, I was incredibly frustrated with the apparent "design-intent" of the 1.5 EcoBoost I bought last year, so much so I have dubbed it the EcoRattle. After months of trying to get the issue resolved, I have managed to come to an agreeable resolution for changing the car, as I just cannot live with the turbo rattle. I'm still going to loose out a bit financially, but at least I am getting an upgrade out of it. Test drove one a few weeks ago, and now I can't wait to get my own :D Should look like this: Updates Arrived at dealers: Collection day:
  4. Hi all,  I have been looking for a car to replace my 56 plate clio, which is starting to age rapidly. I've been seriously looking at a Ford Focus 1.6 Ecoboost Titanium at a local garage. I appear to be getting a good deal on it - 61 plate (registered feb 2012), 13000 miles, £8k The main thing that is slightly worrying me is the very low mileage for its age. I'm not sure if it has been used for very short journeys, or if it has simply not been used very much at all. Is there anything I should check in either situation? Are these cars perfectly happy at doing very short journeys all the time? Also, it has suffered some damage, which looks parking related to me rather than actually been hit by something. Down the passenger side both door hands are badly scuffed/scored. The offside front bumper and wing panel has also been dented and scuffed. Would these cause any issues other than cosmetically? I was only able to take it for a short test drive as I had another appointment to go to. It certainly appear to drive straight, no pulling to the side that I could detect. The dealer I would be buying it from is also a Ford body shop, so I have no real issues with them repairing it.  Is there anything you would be checking/asking the dealer about this car if you were buying it? I'm not exactly experienced in buying cars, this will only be my 2nd car, and my dad done most of the talking when we got my Clio. Thanks for reading my worried/excited/scared ramblings ! :-)
  5. Hi all!  I'm new to this, so bare with me haha. I got my 13 plate Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 100ps, in October last year. It is amazing! Feels like driving a Bentley compared to the Peugeot 107 I had before.  But... When accelerating hard, the power does not seem there almost at times.  The suspension creaks awfully over speed bumps-Something that has got worse. When I first bought the car, the steering felt really precise, but it seems to have a bit more play in it now, also it does understeer quite bad. And finally, The Ford sync, does not show me who sent me the text, it just says unknown. I have a HTC One M7, with the updated software. If anyone can help with either one of these questions, it will be greatly appreciated!! Cheers, Josh.
  6. Hi All, I have been looking around the internet reading up on the ecoboost engine trying to get an idea what could be possible with the 3 pot beauty. I am just looking to see if any one is planning on doing anything to their engine at all? if so what you will be going for.... Any one have any ideas on what would be a good starting point on finding a bit more grunt from the engine. My friend had a subaru impreza and i remember him fitting a boot control valve to increase his boost pressure, would such things be possible with out ecoboost engine? Any one with ideas please post :)
  7. hi I have just bought the a new 65 plate zetec s with the 138 bhp engine I was wondering what's the best modification to pull a little more out of the car power wise   Thanks, jack

  9. Hello everybody, I am new here but look forward to providing more topics, I understand this might already be a topic but I am struggling to find it, Whenever I am in my car my Bluetooth will not connect. My phone wont find 'SYNC' and the Bluetooth in the car just comes up with the pairing code, I know that its not my phone as I have had 3 of my mates try, it started two days ago and I have only had the car two weeks now, has anybody else had this problem? Eddie Gill
  10. Hi guys, So i've done it again. Bought a 1.25 fiesta in march (14 plate) now just gone and part ex'd it against a 1 ltr ecoboost (64 plate). Picking it up on Friday! The only question i have, what are people roughly spending on their fuel, and what are their avg mpg. I would also like to know your driving habits as it what roads. I've heard that it's brilliant on fuel however i would just like to see how much people are actually getting out of it. My road types vary for work. Will post some pictures when i've collected. Thanks Guys Jon.
  11. Ford Fiesta Ecoboost Mpg

Looking into possibly getting a Fiesta with the new Ecoboost engine, was just wondering if the quoted figures from Ford for MPG is anywhere near accurate. Have seen between 55-70 advertised depending on style of driving etc.
  12. Hi Guys, so I've recently converted from the Vauxhall owners club to the Ford Owners club, and I bought the Fiesta Zetec S EcoBoost in White, with the 17" alloys. Firstly, I absolutely love the engine, throttle response and the fun that comes with having a small turbo. I have spotted the rear ST panel and diffuser, which is going to be my first modification, but I wondered if anyone else has fitted this already or if they had any photo examples. Does the current exhaust require any modification, or will the splitter fit without exhaust modification. I'd really like to see a photo with the diffuser, but without any amendments to the exhaust so I can see how it looks. Sorry if this too longer post, be great to talk to people about mods for this car. Cheers Chris
  13. Zetec S Ecoboost 1.0

I've been on these forums for a while and I haven't really seen anyone say anything about the new fiesta. I picked up my new fiesta Saturday. Facelift 62 plate Fiesta Zetec s in panther black I was a bit worried about the new engine…but I really had nothing to worry about, I can't tell you how much fun it it to drive. The sound and drive is so different, now the engine is so much smaller the sound is just of turbo when revving. It's really quick compared to my 61 plate Zetec S and I didn't think it would be. The look is really nice as well, much more aggressive. I'm really pleased. Pictures to follow.
  14. Performance Parts

Hi there. I have a Mondeo 2.0 ecoboost 2010 (so 203bhp) Does anyone know if this car has an intercooler and can it be upgraded. And it's there any other performance upgrades available. I have searched Google with very little success. Can't find find simple things line stainless steel exhaust and air filters. Amy help would be great.
  15. White Smoke From Exhaust

Large amounts of white smoke comes out of the exhaust under hard acceleration in a 1.5t ecoboost only 1200 miles on the clock wondering if anyone could help with this
  16. Hello fellow ford fans! A few weeks ago I upgraded from my old 2010 Fiesta mk 7 Zetec S to a shiny new (to me anyway) Focus with much more power! I am very pleased with the performance and quality increase. From a 120PS 1.6 petrol to a new 1.6 Ecoboost 182PS is an unbelievable power increase for the same capacity and tax banding. FYI, Having previously had 3 other mk1 Foci in the past (of the 1.6 and 2.0 petrol varieties) I am extremely impressed and do not feel the steering is lacking as others have mentioned. Fuel wise I am getting 37 mpg average. I was getting about 32 in the Fiesta. I normally drive like a bit of an eco-warrior, smooth and slow when my girlfriend/daughter are on board but can let my hair when there is an open road on my own and it's so much more fun! :) The handling is probably not as good as the Fiesta. I can feel the extra weight cornering and stopping but nothing major. The ride overall is much smoother though and feels more grown up - with no spine shattering pot-hole encounters. This new engine also has a lot more potential to eek out more performance and possibly economy via various mods available. I have been reading this forum and others and I am very tempted to go for the Mountune MP200 kit which takes it up to 200 hp but possibly more as they are said to be conservative with their estimates. The car is just out of standard warranty as it is a 2012 but Bristol Street Ford gave me an extended 12 month warranty above the standard 3 month. I am not sure if going with Mountune will preserve this or if its worth it? My other reason for considering Mountune is hearing they offer 0% finance. Right now I am overwhelmed with options, from Bluefin to Pumaspeed remaps that cost around £300-500 to the less reputable looking chips on eBay and Amazon from around £100. There are also options from a company in Germany called which look a bit more legit for 150 Euros. I would probably also get a high air-flow filter to go with these. Any advice or feedback? Many thanks, cheers, Trevor Edit: old and new car pics attached - looks like it went through puberty :)
  17. New Member

Hello there, This is my first time owning a Ford, it's my second car (first car was a Fiat Punto Sporting). It is a 2012 Ford Focus Zetec ecoboost, unfortunatly, only the 100hp model. I shall be picking the car up this Friday and already looking to tune it. Any ideas on how to get the 100hp model past 125hp?
  18. Hey guys, I'm currently considering a couple of remaps for my currently stock Zetec S 125. Here are my two options: Either way, I would be looking to get the Milltek Exhaust, and some form of induction kit anyway (J1 if not puma speed) so I guess the question is in the reliability of the remap. Does anyone have experience of either one, or possible other suggestions? Also, anyone know the best place to get flyeye/headlight tint? Thanks, D
  19. 2.0 Petrol 203 Or 240bhp?

Hello, Ive just picked up my new 61 late Titanium X Sport SMax. I got the 2.0 Petrol with power shift auto. Its a lovely car to drive. I was reluctant to upgrade from an Audi, but new additions to the family required more seats. So far i am very impressed with it. I have a question i hope someone can help me with. How do i know if the 2.0 Petrol is 203 or 240BHP? Ive noticed when looking that 2011 was about the time the newer 240BHP engine was released. But how can i tell which one i have? Thanks,
  20. Hi all, So on Tuesday night, I picked up my new Ford Focus Zetec S. I opted for the Magnetic Metallic colour and the 1.5 litre turbo eco boost engine. The options I selected were: Appearance Pack 2 (18" Alloys & tinted rear windows) Convenience Pack (Auto Folding side mirrors, Active Park Assist, Park Out Assist & Parking sensors all round) Door edge protectors Ford Sync 2, DAB & Sat Nav Rear View Camera So far so good. Getting to grips with the infotainment system! Images Below:
  21. Hi everyone. Does anyone know of a great website for my ford mondeo mk 4 2.0 ecoboost titanium x sport in regards to performance parts and exterior styling like different grills or side skirts. And if anyone has any pictures of a there done up Mondeo as inspiration that would be great.
  22. Hey all, I'm new to this site so sorry if I am posting in the wrong place but I was wondering if you could advise me on what mods you think would be nice on my Fiesta ZS 1.0 Ecoboost. I have done a few things so far and they are as follows; From Factory: Privacy GlassAuto WipersDimming MirrorElectric Folding MirrorsReverse SensorsPush Button StartUpgraded Wheels 17"Heated SeatsOther Fitted Mods: Red Foot Well Lighting ST Rear Diffuser/Valance ZS Chrome/Red Front Grill BadgeZS Lockwood Scuff Plates1.0 Ecoboost Engine CoverBrake Calipers Sprayed RedI know that the rear looks terrible at the moment as there is no tailpipe showing but I am getting a custom cat back fitted this Saturday which I can barely wait for lol. A few things which i am thinking of having done are the wheels sprayed dark grey, having a front Triple R Splitter and having a Mountune induction kit fitted. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated and il try to upload a few pictures of it so far but as usual in the UK its raining, so its not going to look its best. Thanks in advance, Steve
  23. Just come back from the dealer, having ordered a 1.5 Ecoboost Zetec S with lots of goodies. :D Estimated build date is 10th Oct, with ETA 9th Nov, although dealer has said it is likely to take longer than that due to the number of options I have added, so we'll see. Can't wait, this will be my first new factory ordered car UPDATE 6/12/14: Finally took some pics:
  24. Hi! I'm thinking of getting a new, sporty exhaust for my Ecoboost, and I've looked a lot on the Milltek systems. I will only do cat-back, de-cat or sport cat is not interesting. I'm not doing it for performance, mostly for looks and sound. I am however getting Bluefin, so there might be a performance gain aswell. I've heard that Milltek systems are not very loud anyways, but they still have a resonated version.. I want sporty sound, but not to the extent that it bothers me on the motorway. So has anyone heard these systems live on this car?
  25. Sony Sat Nav Problems

I bought a new Fiesta Titanium 1.0 Ecoboost 99bhp on 12/10/2013, which has the optional Sony Sat Nav. My main problem is that there is very limited information about how to use the satnav - just 2 pages in the Fiesta manual - so it is all trial and error. Main problems: 1) I can enter a postcode but there doesn't appear to be any way to enter house number, so the destination is imprecise. 2) After entering postcode there is a further field called "District" which would look a good candidate to enter house number, but it is not possible to enter any information into this field. 3) So far I have entered 7 character postcodes ok. Just tried to enter a 6 character postcode but it insisted on 7. However after 'fiddling about' I was able to enter the 6 character code but can't reproduce what I did. The supplying dealer (Think Ford) was only able to confirm my observations, and Sony was no help as they insisted on having a model number which I don't know. So has anyone else solved these problems (admittedly quite small in the context of a very good car) or can point me to a proper instruction manual. Bryn
