  1. Hello all, I'm trying to order the clips used to attach the front wheel arch liners on 2007 Fiesta. The expanded parts diagram I've found online hasn't been much use, I don't have the old clips for comparison and I see several different size clips being sold as suitable  As best as I can tell, there are 6 fixings per liner. 4 of them have circular holes (green) and 2 are slotted (red) so I'm guessing there are 2 different types of clip needed here? If anyone happens to know the correct clips, I'd be very grateful!
  2. hi when i apply full lock i get this jerky movement from the drivers side wheel, also when i brake that same wheel wanders, and when driving sometimes the wheel wanders mostly pulling the car to the right
  3. Hi looking for advice which I think I know answer but need confirmation. A friend owner of ford ka 2010 had new tyres fit by mobile guy who informed her one wheel bolt was incorrect. I found some on eBay from 2011 car when they were delivered I received wheel nuts ( which I believe to be mk1 <2008) and later models mk2 >2008 to be bolts. Are my thoughts correct ? Not able to check car as she is at university thanks in advance john
  4. My recently acquired Focus (2002 1.6 Ghia) came back from the garage the other day with a really tacky steering wheel. I just assumed it was some grease/grime, tried cleaning it to no avail (it was pretty dirty it turns out). Tried degreaser, still sticky. Tried WD40 (as it's good at removing sticky residues), still sticky. I've scrubbed it to buggery! So two questions: Any tips on removing the stickiness? And, to guide me on what to use, is the steering wheel leather on this model or just leather effect plastic? (some google search suggestions were that, if leather, a leather cleaner/conditioner might do the job)
  5. Over the last couple of weeks I noticed a rubbing noise when turning, (mainly when to the right) from the front of the car - passenger side wheel I believe. Today I happened to have the windows down a bit for the first time in ages and noticed the rubbing was happening even on the straights now. (The noise gets faster the faster I drive and stops completely when I come to a stop). I asked my local friendly mehanic to check for grit or whatever between the brakes/pads etc (sorry - I'm no car expert). Anyway he saw nothing and said if it gets worse take it to the dealer with it being under warrenty. After finding an empty street I drove a bit more with the windows right down and decided the steam-train-like noise was embarrasing and called the dealer. They said to take it in tomorrow morning for someone to come for a ride and have a listen. Just suprised a bearing may need changed after only 12,000 miles . Is there anything else it is likely to be, or probably a bearing? Thanks I'll report back tomorrow. Flipping cars eh.
  6. Apologies if this is covered in another topic. Hi everyone, My focus has developed a rattle. At cold not so much but when hot it's fairly loud. Sounds like a bag of bolts rumbling around. Bad in neutral or in gear with clutch pressed down but as you engage clutch noise goes away for the most part. Clutch works fine and the noise more or less went away for a few months but has returned worse than before. As you turn engine off the last sound as the engine stops sounds like a flywheel coming to a stop which I'm fairly sure is where the noise is coming from. Is this the clutch plate or DMF? I took it to a dealer when it was not as bad a few months ago when it was more sporadic and he couldn't get it to make a noise - sods law!! Any thoughts appreciated. Anyone???
  7. Hey guys, I've got a 53 TDDi and after it sitting around for a week, all of a sudden I've started getting a clunking noise while turning the steering wheel stood still. Driving it seems to be OK the majority of the time, every now and then it happens. Found a video on youtube which looks to be the issue I'm having. They say it was the front springs, is there any way I can double check the springs before buying new ones? Replaced my steering rack a little while ago (roughly 2/3 thousand miles ago) so thinking it may possibly be that. Heres the link: Any help would be much appreciated.

From the album 2016 UBB RS 550

While the USA performance tuners are still trying to work out how get the power to the ground on their 650 bhp Mustangs, British designed and built UBB have taken another direction building a four wheel drive Mustang less power at only 550 bhp, however as they say less is more, the four wheel drive will no doubt slaughter the bigger bhp Mustangs on the road and the track available in right and left hand drive.
  9. Hello , I have joined this club to ask for some help to find out what's wrong with my car . I bought a 55 plate 2.0l tdci 130 Mondeo about 7 months ago . It's a brilliant car but has caused me endless expense since owning it . I've now got to the point where no mechanic I talk to can figure out what's wrong with it . Within 3 weeks of having it the dmfw went , so I booked it in to be replaced , while it was there the changed the fly wheel , clutch , and some tensioner that was knackered too . When I collected the car I was pleasantly surprised that the engine was slightly quieter now. However it still does sound quite ropey . My main issue at the moment is when i start the car - cold or hot - it's takes 2 or 3 attempts to start , and when it eventually goes , it runs on 3 cylinders with the engine management light on , for about 10 seconds , then the light goes out , and the 4th cylinder comes into play !! Along with a nice plume of white smoke out the back . Also while driving it makes a horrible "pinking "sound occasionally . I've had the injectors reprogrammed to the ecu , and I've had it code read - there are no fault codes at all. I'm literally at my wits end and would really appreciate some advice.. Thank you
  10. Thank you for checking out this thread, it would be much appreciated if you could spare the time to read over this post, and if possible any replies that people have left and maybe leave some input of your own. There will be a poll for this, asking people to tick which alloy wheels they have had buckled, corresponding with their car model. I am completely aware of the mass of threads about this topic, however most seem to be just complaining about them rather than actually grouping together on the matter in hand. There are steps we can take! However, let's discuss the topic first. Basically it seems there is a large number of us here (seems mainly to be the Zetec S and Titanium owners) who're having hassle with our alloy wheels buckling and getting flat spots, now sometimes these are repairable, sometimes they're not serious enough and then other times the only action is to replace the wheel itself, now even with the first 2 options, should we really be going through this? Did you buy your Fiesta to be messing around every few months about the alloy wheels? My story is this; I felt a vibration through the steering wheel of my Fiesta and within a couple of days went to Kwikfit to have what I thought was my wheels rebalanced as I and my dad (a mechanic for 40+ years) thought I'd lost a wheel weight. To my horror, when the wheels had been inspected, one wheel was terribly buckled, and the other had a less serious but unrepairable buckle as well. I was advised not to drive hard and to avoid motorways, effectively meaning really I need to get new wheels or take the car off the road as it's unsafe. My problem is, I don't just have £400 odd in my pocket to splash out, and also I only have 1 spare wheel. The thing is this wasn't all Kwikfit said, the mechanic said he see's Fiesta's in all of the time, and when I said about Corsa's he says they're fine, it's just the Fiesta's. To back this up, a lot of us on here have posted multiple threads. So, I take the car in to Evans Halshaw (who in all of this I can give no fault too) to have their verdict, 2 new wheels and tyres. So I then go back home and give Ford a ring, well let's just say I have never had such an experience with a company, who takes £15,000 off someone, just to treat them like they're something off the bottom of their boot? They said there is no problem with the wheels and that I must have hit pot holes. Well, in that case why do I have two front wheels gone? To which the person on the phone said 'Exactly, why is it only the front two and not the back?' To which I replied, 'Well after all, the front wheels do have the full weight of a diesel engine over them...' and then there was a momentary silence from them, followed by being told I would have to find the money to pay for the wheels myself if I wanted the problem sorting, and when I said about not having heaps of cash lying round, that I would either have to borrow the money from friends and family, or take the car off the road. I genuinely couldn't believe what I was being told, I was being told that because they're putting wheels on cars that are unfit for purpose that I would have to take a 9 month old vehicle off the road? So, here I am now. I'm posting so hopefully we can get together and do something about this, I'm thinking of contacting trading standards and hopefully Watchdog if we get enough support here. I aim to keep this thread alive so that anyone can chip in and hopefully get some help with the issue, so please post your experiences and thoughts on this, and let's try and get somewhere! I have also posted on Ford UK's Facebook, which I urge anyone to do over this; https://www.facebook.com/forduk Thank you for your time. Posts to read; antman99 - Post 2

  14. Brake Discs And More Issues

I had an issue with a knocking/ creaking sound when i brake slowly after having a new suspension coil fitted. Rang the original garage and they said I'd have to wait a week to see them. I saw another garage and they said that there was oil on the brake disc from when they replaced the coils- can't remember what type of oil. Apparently it was only on the inside of the disc and the outside was spotless but had dried and stuck on. They recommended I change the disc and the brake pads. Is this necessary? Surely there's a way to clean them? In their bid to find the initial cause of the noise they also said the rear wheel bearing need replacing very soon, rear tyres ( I knew they were getting on a bit) and the steering rack would need fixing as the steering was heavy. I've also been hearing a squeaking from the rear of my car and it's also burning fuel- I might change the Any thoughts? I'm starting to feel like I'd be throwing money at a lost cause with the 1.25 on 122000 miles.
  15. Geared Wheel Info Display

Could somebody explain this to me: On the info display there are 5 icons, cd, radio, aux and phone, the last one is a sort off geared wheel. It is is visible when using the key in keylock and remains visible during driving. There is no expanation in the manual and my garage can't explain it either. Maybe it is nothing alarming but I would like to know what the meaning of it is. Regards, Roeland
  16. Hello, I have recently bought a Ford Fiesta 62 plate. I have started to hear clicking noises when turning right which is louder the sharper the turn is. Does anyone know what this could be? Sometimes whilst driving there is a buzzing noise coming from inside the steering wheel behind the volume controls. Has anyone ever experienced this problem and had managed to get it fixed? Thanks, Elisha
  17. Alloy Wheels Problem

Hi guys, When I wash my wheels I notice lots of little black speckle marks, seem to me like tar marks from the road, however they just won't come off?? I've tried lighter fuel to rub it off, t-cut but I just can't remove them? Everyweek they get worse. Had any one got a similar problem but knows a solution to this? It's so annoying.
  18. Hi all, I have a mk2 focus sport 1.8 tdci and I am at a loss and would like some advice. I have had a wobble / vibration on the front passenger side for over 6 months now and is very noticeable at low speeds and the steering wheel also wobbles. I have read a few posts and took on some of the suggestions but I have not had any luck in solving my problem. I have replaced the bearing including hub, it passed its not in January with no problems. I then replaced the drivers shaft, still no luck. I noticed that the tire was worn on the outside so today I took her to get a new tyre. I asked for the wheel to be put on the rear to see if it would help. I had all the wheels balenced and the alignment done and I am still facing the same problem. Does anyone have anymore ideas? thanks
  19. Vibration When Braking

Ford Focus 1.6 Diesel Style Around June last Year, I started getting a vibration on the steering wheel while braking so straight away I assumed that my disks were warped. I had them replaced by my local garage but within 2 months, I started to get the same problem again. I took the car back to the garage and they replaced the disks under warranty and assumed that they were bad disks. This time the disks lasted about 4 months and then the vibration returned. This time I listened for any noise and I could hear a rubbing, almost like a chugging noise on the left hand side of the car which then turns into a wobbling knocking noise when the car slows down further. I then took the car back to the garage which they then replaced the left side calliper (and the disks/pads again) but I still have the same issue. I am going to take it back there again but I want to find out if anyone else might have had the same issue or might know something else that might be causing it so I can mention it to the people at the garage. Just to add to this. I’m pretty good when it comes to braking, there is no vibration on the steering wheel when driving and there seems to be no play on the left wheel, which I have checked and the guys at an MOT centre have also reported no problems.

  22. Hi Guys, I have a 2005 Mk6 fiesta zetec (with ABS), I suspected the wheel bearings had gone. Over the weekend I removed the hub from the rear of the car and sure enough the bearings were knackered!! I am trying to find replacement bearings but am struggling. The bearings that are in the hub at the moment are tapered roller bearings, my local motor factor and ford parts are telling me that the part should be a straight roller bearing. Has anyone changed the bearings and know whether they are supposed to be straight or tapered? Straight roller bearing: Tapered roller bearing: Thanks in advance Moffs1
  23. Hi, So about 6 months ago I bought a Ford Fiesta Mk7 Titanium (2010). Since then I have had wheels buckle three times! Each time I've had the wheels replaced at quite a high cost. Last time my mechanic suggested I look at getting steel wheels if it happened again. Recently I hit a small pot hole and immediately my steering wheel started vibrating again. It's worth noting that this is always the extent of the problem. Not so bad I can see the buckle but I get a definite vibration through the wheel, especially at higher speeds. Steel wheels don't seem as easy to come by as my mechanic suggested. However there are plenty of alloy options. Basically what I'm after is some suggestions of some strong wheels that aren't going to buckle after every small bump and aren't going to break my bank. I live in the United Kingdom country side and the roads aren't always amazing and as much as I do my best to avoid pot holes occasionally there is nothing I can do (latest one was submerged). That being said the 2008 Fiesta I drove for three years never had any problems with its wheels. I've attached a photo of the wheels I currently have. Thanks in advanced for any help. I really like this car but the constant wheel issues are a nightmare and really make me regret buying it.
  24. Choosing Wheel Spacers..

I wanna install wheel spacers all round but I don't know which ones to choose brand/size/ect.. I have 15" rims on my 2011 MK7 & I want 15mm atleast, maybe even 20mm. I've heard to stay away from extended stud ones & to always get ones that are hub centric. Suggestions?
