Hey all, I've noticed a few complants here and there about rattles in our Fiestas, so I am hoping that we can gather all of them in this one thread, to better give current and coming owners an overview. People can write about the kind of rattle (what does it sound like, is it loud or minor), when does it rattle (constant or intermittent, when cold/warrm), where does it rattle (cabin/front/rear, boot, engine bay) AND mots importantly: have you had it fixed (yourself, garage, warranty). I'll start: I have an intermittent rattle somewhere in the right side of the car, passenger side since I live in DK. It's a plastic rattle, mostly heard when the car is not warmed up yet, disappears after 10 min. or maybe the music drowns it out. It's not loud and probably not something that can be fixed. The plastics in the Fiesta are not the best quality.
  2. Fitting ST Recaro seats

    Hi, I am considering buying a set of Molten Orange Recaro seats from a 15 plate st to fit into my Red Edition Fiesta. Before making the purchase I wanted to check how easy it will be to do the swap. I am assuming the connectors will be the same for both seats and they should be a straight fit? Also would it be possible to keep the heated seat functionality?   Much Appreciated, Stephen

Well today has had me pretty much finally snap with my dealer after a 3 month battle with them over reversing sensors on my ST.   Basically when I went to pick the car up I noticed that the sensors were the complete wrong colour for the car, my car is Spirit Blue and they'd used Deep Impact Blue instead on the sensors, so this had the car going in a week in for a day to have them re-painted, with the excuse that they didn't have any paint available at the time and they had to paint them in something. Seemed like an odd excuse but fair enough no argument.   So I go to pick up the car and notice the paint is still not right, this time the excuse was that they couldn't get the paint mix correct and would have to have it back again so they could have another go, unhappy at this but fine whatever, I'll give them one more go (third time lucky or something I hoped...). So back it went again to have this re-done and guess what, STILL not a good match on the bumper colour, to which the service manager wanted my car for a week for them to do the job properly which I was hugely against because it was obvious they were going to flash it in to the bumper leaving me with an effectively 'repaired' bumper.    So this was the third time this car had been in now, and the next time it went in I said the sensors needed looking at because they had never worked properly and they beeped continuously whilst in reverse, it also needed checking for an engine fault after going into limp and showing the service light. They said there was nothing wrong with the sensors (or the engine which is no surprise). So I went away annoyed, and then all of a sudden next day the same thing with the sensors happens again and so once more it gets booked in.    It is this time that finally they find that the sensors don't work, however it took me taking the car back, going into the car park and doing the fault myself that they finally admitted there was an issue - their technician that morning found nothing wrong somehow. So after making 2 trips in the same day they finally found the fault, which marked the end of visit number 5.   Visit number 6 should have been the best, they replaced everything with the sensors and found 2 were faulty at lower voltages (i.e. when cold), so I went to my bumper and actually felt like smacking my head off the floor. Some absolute buffoon had used a screwdriver to remove the sensors and the paint was chipped and bits of plastic had been gouged out from the bumper. So this leaves us now onto visit number 7 which they were to inspect it and get it booked in to be repaired and the service manager was taking this on personally; but somehow he decided to listen to his technician who said some touch-up paint would sort the issue out, and he never looked to see. So I get back and even though I didn't expect it repaired, was beyond words that the same person who damaged the bumper tried to fob me off with touch-up paint; sure it was no longer showing bare plastic but it still had lumps missing out of the bumper at each sensor point.   So by this point Ford have had my car for 8 days in total, when the service manager says enough is enough, leave the car with them for a week and they will get it to the body shop to have the repair done properly once and for all, as well as look at the engine as the light had been on again and gone into limp mode. This was this Monday just gone. I ring up on Wednesday as I was told there was a chance that the car may be ready by mid-week but leave it with them until the Friday in case; I was told the car is in Burnley where the body shop is. Oh no, I get a phone call this morning apologising that they would need it another week as the car had been sat in their car park since Monday and had gone nowhere as the body shop had been too busy to do my car, at which point I went practically nuclear and told them under no circumstance does that car leave the dealership at all. My dad rings them too to find out what the heck is going on and finds that at 3 (baring in mind I told them at half 10 not to move the car) the car is now on it's way to the body shop, so we go down when I finish work for half 3 smelling one huge rat. So now, after the car has been down there for 5 days (bringing it to a total of 13) they're going to want it for 10 next time, as the engine fault hadn't been looked at and the paint hasn't been done, so 5 for the paint and 5 for the engine fault. It's now booked in for next Monday so I spend yet another stint with a courtesy car that is absolutely horrible; it's a 1.0 Ecosport that is more expensive to run than my ST...   But wait I hear you say, surely there's more?!   You'd be right! The car is brought back to me this evening as the mechanic who had dropped it off had to go get it back and there was the rat, sat on my left front wing - a nice group of scrapes and scratches, along with chips on the bumper nearby. That is why the car was sent off to body shop in such a hurry hoping I'd keep the God awful courtesy car for God knows how long more instead of getting the car back. Got the service manager on the phone (who must have been happy seeing he was at home) and he said, 'Oh we'll paint it when it's in the body shop.'   Now that is the end of the story as of now, but I'm not leaving it all just to get sorted and then let it go. I'm not happy whatsoever that by the time it's finished, if it's finished next time, I'll have had the car for 3 months and the car has been with the dealer for 23 days of that time, so almost a third. As well as this, I'll have a repaired rear bumper, front wing and front bumper because of them damaging it after I have taken delivery because of their incompetence. I'm going to be writing to Ford about this, but do you guys think perhaps contacting trading standards as well? I love the car don't get me wrong, it's amazing, but the service I've had after buying it is beyond shocking. I can't fault the salesman as he's always been great (our family has had now 5 cars from him and soon to be 6th), and the people on the service desk are great too as when I've dealt with them they've always been upfront and honest about things, but beyond that desk Jesus Christ...   I know I don't probably get worst dealership experience ever here, but it's quite the shocker for sure... Will upload pictures tomorrow of what I can :P
  4. So guys I’ve had my ST2 for about 15 months now and have done quite a few cosmetic mods to it so decided it was time I put a thread up for you all to see how it’s progressing. Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I’ve enjoyed do all the mods. So here we go; This is the day I picked it up from the dealers In January 2014 after a 4 month wait from ordering due to Ford completely under estimating the demand in the UK. Seen here with my ZS going the other way in part ex after 11 months ownership. Took it out for the first drive up on Saddleworth moor, it was January so it got dark pretty early that day, Mods started pretty much straight away. First up I put my Brodit phone cradle in powered from the 12v power socket so my iPhone is always charging, very useful when I have the sat nav app running. Next up added a few extra bhp by adding the club sticker. Decided to place it on the rear window K&N filter and Mountune silicon inlet hose went in next, this is my only real “performance” mod although let’s be honest the difference is negligible, probably less than the FOC sticker! Next up lights. Started with de-tango all round Then number plate bulbs, fitted Cree’s first but wasn’t happy with the light spread so changed for a different style of Cree bulb which give a much better appearance Finally HID 6000k 35w headlight conversion (just need to hide the ballasts down under the light now) They do have a slight blue tinge to them so I am considering a change of bulb temp and maybe an upgrade to 55w, although the ones I had in the ZS were 55w and they wouldn’t work in the ST they just flickered then went out so I’m not sure of best way for these? Next job was interior lights Cree’s again (I do love them) plus red foot well bulbs and a LED strip light in the boot makes it far easier to see at night
  5. Bluetooth installation

    So I want bluetooth installed on my Ford Fiesta Edge, 62 plate. I'm just sick of trailing wires and having to find the AUX cable all the time, i want to just get in, select a song and then go, and do everything through the car and not have to pull over and answer a call. I've looked at the parrot things & i don't really want to get one as it's separate from the actual car and i've have to mess around hard wiring stuff in, not what i want. So does anyone know if it's possible to get bluetooth installed as if it was factory fitted? Also where I could get it done? If not what other options do I have. I'm based in Manchester too if that helps. Thanks :)
  6. Right so I want to change my Air Box to an Air filter on my Mk7.5 Fiesta Black Edition 140 - But I have noticed there is a air sensor attached to the unit if i fit an air filter will this cause me any issues if the sensor isn't plugged in? Cheers Ben_140 
  7. Hi guys, new to this forum, just signed up. I'm having trouble with my new fiesta ST, I picked it up on the 29th of January 2016 - should add it's bought on PCP - And it's got an irregular knocking coming from the engine ( over the tapping of the injectors ) I've already took the car back to the ford dealership that I bought it from and they admitted they could hear it also and they changed the oil from 5w30 to 0w40. This hasn't cured the problem and further more I've learned that this is because there are incorrect machining tolerances in the bottom end of the engine? This information came from ford techs over different forums. They say that ford won't tell you this and they just change the oil. Now I have the car booked back into ford this coming Tuesday (Feb 16th) as I'm not happy with the results. I've contacted ford direct via phone and email, and the ford finance also, this is to cover myself with evidence as they have opened up a case.  The dealership have been nothing but nice to me, for example there aren't any courtesy cars available so the manager is giving me his and paying for all insurance costs.  Although im aware if this is the problem I have then the only solution is an engine swap, or ultimately a car swap. I'd like to know what my chances are or being successful? I've told the dealership if I reject that I'd be more than happy for a swap replacement as they have been spot on with me from day one and I don't want to burn any bridges so to speak. But if it needs done I'll be stamping my feet.  Thanks in advance! 
  8. Which DashCam?

    Guys. I'm wanting a DashCam but I have no idea where to start.  I want something that can hide behind the rear view mirror with no cables exposed.  Something that will either record all of the time/when parked up.  I'm not sure if it's possible to have one that records constantly, but I've read somewhere that there is something called parkmode? I'd like to spend less than £150?  Guys. Any advice? Suggestions? Links?  Many thanks in advance. Cookey. 
  9. Right I've just bought a SUB for my fiesta it's a FLI Trap single sub 1200watts i was wondering if it would wire into my head unit or will i have to buy a new head unit from halfords? Also where can i get Mk7 radio pullers from so i can remove my head unit.  Cheers Ben_140

My 2013 ford fiesta 1L ecoboost's start stop isnt working, the button to turn it on and off just stays illuminated when pressed, you can turn the light off when the ignition is on but as soon as you start the car the light comes on and you cannot turn the light off, and therefor the start stop isnt working.  any advice  thanks  
  11. UPDATE 19/01/2015 - I started this thread specifically for my sub enclosure. From there it grew into a general ICE thread. It's now turning into a general thread about mods/maintenance to/on my car. Just want to note now that I'm not building this box with competition specs in mind.. It's simply built to 1.) take up as little boot space as possible whilst 2.) providing more bass than the stock speakers. I'll be upgrading the rest of the audio in the car in due time! Just want to show off my amazing test of the box with a 6.5" "sub" although my box was designed for a 10" :) I'm using 12mm MDF and some strips of Ply to build my box. I'm also gluing all the joints with No Nails & Screws to make it as solid & airtight as possible. More pictures to follow once my sub, amp & carpet arrives! Fire away with any questions

I've got the fiesta Zetec without Bluetooth and I'm having trouble playing music through my iPhone using the apple cable when I try playing a song it plays the start then skips through my whole playlist without letting me listen to a full song, can anyone help me ? I have to use an aux cable but by doing so it doesn't let me skip songs using the buttons on the steering wheel. Thanks :)
  13. Hi, I have just received my new Ford Fiesta but I am having problems with the keyless entry system. The problem is that the car doesn't unlock using the button on the drivers side. It works fine on the passenger side. I have tried resetting the remote in accordance with the manual but it still doesn't work. I am at a loss as to what the problem could be. Has anyone got any tips on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
  14. Hi All, Made two projects/builds on here before, nothing dramatic. Always wanted an ST and decided to get one as my insurance changed over at the end of January this year. Shoutout to TrustFord in Enfield for this! Was looking at trading in my Titanium for a new ST, then remembered the price difference. I then picked Stallone up for 13K with all the discounts and haggles etc taken down, only 8 months old! Comes with all the gadgets I had on the titanium, which I was used to (Auto lights, auto wipers etc.) but the heated seats etc. added to this just top it off! And then comes the power.. the torque it has is ridiculous, if you are in a position to get one of these, honestly.. just go for it. You won't be disappointed. List of things/idea's that I will/might be doing: 1. Upgrade all interior (courtesy, footwell, boot) 2. Upgrade number plate lights 3. Upgrade reverse lights (CREE LED)  need to add pictures 4. De-tango all indicators (rear, side and front lights) 5. Gel Overlays (Front, steering, boot badges, might do wheel centres and vents, ST Badges) 6. Smoke/Blackout lights/badges  sort of, will be re-doing these 7. Upgrade dipped beam to HID's 8. Upgrade Fogs to ??? 9. Black out alloys (plastidip or powder coat) 10. Induction Kit - J1 kit? 11. Colour coded pipes for engine (white/black) 12. Sunstrip 13. Hardwire a dashcam 14. Headlight brows  bought but not sure, needs painting as well 15. Blackout rear bumper, fog inserts, lower grill. Also paint the engine cover black/white. 16. Change the whole front headlight units (retrofit, blacked out, change the LED DRL for a more whiter look) 17. Mountune spoiler exhaust or RS spoiler, Maxton design do both of these. 18. Front & side splitters. Triple R looks pretty good. 19. Front bumper extensions or RS style front bumper. The front bumper extensions are done by fifteen52 originally, but both can be bought from Maxton design also. 20. Mountune/Revo/Peron tuning, remaps, exhaust etc. Mountune will keep my warranty, by Revo looks like a better deal, i've heard a stage 3 Revo and it was crazy. 21. Find matching keyring and smartkey cover. 22. Find matching dustcaps. 23. Add another rear fog light on the other side (not sure what side they come with but it annoys me that it isn't symmetrical. 24. Add rain deflectors for wing mirror's (not sure on these) 25. Add wind deflectors  purchase new ones? *Will be added a few updates to this post*

    Finally got round to fitting my white badges. ST spoiler going on this week and then going to get alloys toward the end of the month. Car's slowly coming together :D What do you think of the badges?
  16. Hi Guys, I started having issues with the female USB port below the gear stick, all of a sudden its stop recognising anything that's plugged in. After looking into it a bit more I think the port has corroded inside, it has a bit of blue starting to appear. I've done a few searches on this forum and through google looking for possible solutions to fix this, if fiesta was a bit older the easiest way of solving this would have been as simple as attaching a USB clip on connection, would have cost me £6, sods lore the connection on mine is all sealed up and fords changed it. Looking at this I think I have three options Get it fixed by a ford dealer (a possibility of the whole wire loom needing replacing), my last resort due to possible cost Cut the wire and attach a new female adapter via a joining box or something to join the inner cables, or even solder them together costing around £10 Somehow open up the original connector and solder in a new USB connection leaving the cable as it is and using the original USB casing costing costing between £5-£10 Regarding 2 ans 3 I know this is a possibility on general USB data cables, i just don't know if it would work? would the ford cables be any different, inner wires and colours etc..? Other than the above does anyone know of an alternative method that I could try to get it working before taking it apart on the assumption that it may or may not be corroded? Having to replace the front bumper on a fiesta mk6 facelift on our sons car due to some 'Corsa' (sorry for the bad language!) driving limpet cutting lanes and forcing him up onto a roundabout where the bumper dragged on the grass causing damage. The actual bumper seems not too bad but has moved on the drivers side and the passenger side has split at the section hooked behind the wing allowing it to be pulled slightly away from the bodywork. Basically we think the tags/clips on the bumper are damaged and because of this he wants to renew the bumper without paying fords  extortionate prices. Has anyone (or does anyone know of anyone who has) bought or used a bumper from e-bay and how good are they? He's been looking at one of these ones

  20. Hello guys! I recently bought a used 05 Fiesta with the 4500 RDS headunit that was fitted afterwards and not from factory. That means that it doesn't have the 3 bars running across it so it can fit a double din unit or really anything. My question is whether i can fit a 6000CD headunit from the facelift Fiesta or does it have different mounting points? Thanks!
  21. Please bear with me on this one. Until this week I haven't heard of a DPF. My last car was a 2010 1.4tdci Fiesta Edge, fitted with a DPF. My journeys mainly consist of trundling around town with the odd motorway run. And I had the Fiesta for 2 years and 8 months, and the only problem I ever had with that car was the rubber seals around the fuel injectors. There was not any other single fault. 2 months ago, I bought a 2009 1.6tdci Focus econetic. Reasons being i can't afford to run a petrol car with the cost of fuel and tax. And early this week, whilst doing around 60mph the engine lost a lot of power, and on the dash all that was displayed was "Engine Malfunction". I had no prior warning about this. So took it to my local mechanic, and he explained the issue, and cleaned it and now all is well. So I've done some reading about DPF's, and 9/10 people are saying to stay away unless you're on the motorway often, which makes sense considering how a DPF burns off the soot. But I'm a little confused/worried. My previous fiesta had 50,000 on the clock when I bought it, and I changed it at 60,000, and I never had a problem with the DPF. And this focus has 86,000 on the clock. So, what I would like to know, is, 1) Did I get lucky with the fiesta? 2) How long can a DPF go without cleaning just driving around town? 3) Will me taking it onto the motorway for 20 mins clear the filter? 4) If so, how often would I need to do a motorway run? Also, I have read that to begin burning off the soot in the DPF, the engine revs need to be around 2,500rpm. Which is a slight issue, as the other night on the motorway for about 3 miles, at 70mph in 5th, the engine revs only hit 2,000rpm. So, only hitting 2,000rpm even on a motorway, does that indicate that I have an "active regeneration", as opposed to a "passive regeneration'? I'm aware fundamentally, I've made an error in buying this car, I only buy diesel to keep the cost down, with tax and fuel. I'm just wondering, will everything be ok, if I take it for a high speed run say every 2 weeks? After discussing this with my father, he is under the impression that, I didn't have a problem with the fiesta, so it's likely that you will generally be problem free with the focus. After paying £200 for the DPF clean, I'd like to help the engine/filter as much as I can, I also have to consider, that I have no idea how the car was treated by the previous owner. Any help/advice is appreciated.
  22. Hi all. New to the forum and driving! Yesterday I put a deposit down for a very tidy 2007 Fiesta Zetec Climate with the semi-automatic Durashift transmission. I'm picking it up next week, very excited! :) Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong forum section, I just a quick question: I test drove the car and really liked it and I've driven both manuals and fully automatics before. I just wondered what gear you leave this Durashift in when you are stationary. I've been taught to leave manuals in neutral and automatics in park when I am going to be stationary for a long time (i.e. arrived at destination or parking). Since this semi-auto doesn't have park but it does have neutral, I guess I leave it in neutral when I'm parked or have arrived at my destination? Thanks! Sorry for my silly question! ;)   
  23. So, after buying Adaptor USB adaptor, I've realised the whole socket is not working. I realise this could be the fuse ( anyone know a replacement?). Also, is it liking their is physical damage to the socket itself, its barely  been used, so don't see how that's possible, and of so, how easy is it to replace?

    Hiya, I have just turned 17. I've still yet got to do my driving test. But I own a mk6 fiesta 1.25 and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what insurance company to go with? As I know being a new driver, insurance will be sky high😩
