  1. REplacement Key HELP

Hi, My wife lost all out spare keys, been quoted 200 for each (one ford, one citroen). Anyone know if I could just get of these: Then get it cut and program it myself? Is this possible?   Thanks!
  2. Hello all, I'll start by firstly apologising for my uselessness and secondly for possibly posting this topic in an incorrect place. (sorry i don't use forums so not sure on the etiquette). I've scoured the internet and had no luck with my specific problem. I bought a flip remote key for my Fiesta in the hope that i'd gut the old remote key and pop the innards in the new case and be off. I understand obviously the key wont work right off without being cut etc. However i thought transferring the insides would mean no programing was needed. Now ive come to do the task and i can seem to get my hands on the Transponder. And i can't seem to remove the chip board inside without feeling like im going to snap it in half. , , , Ultimately this was a bit of a boredom/vanity project... its not crucial but if anyone could help, it'd be greatly appreciated!
  3. Ford Transponder Keys

We've just bought an 04 StreetKa, with only one immobiliser key - I'm trying to get my head around getting a second key second hand, and although I know that a new horshoe blank key can be cut and fitted, and the remote fob can be reprogrammed to our car from the other car using the on/off ignition method, I'm confused about the transponder bit - if I buy a second hand transponder key (with the original transponder chip from someone elses car), can that used transponder chip also be reprogrammed to our car, even if it means a trip to IDS ?
  4. Key

Hi Guys, Just a few quick questions: Does my car have central locking (because when I bought the car it came with a 'plain' key? If so, is it possible to program a new key to work with the central locking feature on my car?. Thanks in advance, Manpreet _______________________________________ Ford Fiesta Finesse '04
  5. I have recently purchased a 2010 Fiesta Zetec. It came with two keys, one of which is the three-button remote variety and the other is the basic no-button variety. As far as I am aware they are the original keys that came with the car when it was first sold. I have a spare three-button flip style key from my old 2006 Focus Sport and was hoping to be able to use this with the Fiesta, so I ordered a blank blade off the Internet and have had this cut to fit the Fiesta. I have researched online and the common method I found for programming a new transponder key with two already programmed keys is as follows: Insert the first already programmed key into the ignition, turn it to position II and wait for the warning light to go out Turn back to 0 and remove the key Insert the second already programmed key into the ignition, turn it to position II and wait for the warning light to go out Turn back to 0 and remove the key Key programming mode is now activated and you have ten seconds to: Insert the new unprogrammed key into the ignition, turn it to position II and wait for the warning light to go out Turn back to 0 and remove the key Allow 10 seconds to pass for the system to exit programming mode.I have tried this a few times but with no success. When I get to step 6 and turn the unprogrammed key to II the warning light just flashes rapidly and does not go out. It doesn't appear to be recognising the transponder chip in the key for some reason. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Does my 2010 Fiesta use the same type of transponder chip as my old 2006 Focus? I have also tried to just swap the transponder chips as a simple solution, but the one in the remote key that came with the Fiesta doesn't want to budge. I've tried to remove it somewhat gently with a pair of pliers but I'm concerned that I'll damage it. Any help or advice will be gratefully received!
  6. Hi There!

Hi all, I am currently driving in a 1.3 Fiesta Finesse which I have had for just over a year and I'm just looking for some advice on things to do to my fiesta to make look a bit cooler and general up keeping of my wee ford. Thanks for reading!
  7. Hi all, I made a set of keys without the immobiliser chip programmed and I had inserted this key into my engine ignition. Now when I inserted my 2 sets of keys which I know worked, I couldn't start the engine. I suspect this has something to do with the immobiliser. I thought an non-programmed key will only fail to start the engine but seems like it messes up with the whole security system and the old key wouldn't start now. Please let me know what I can do or who should I call to get it sorted. Thanks very much in advance. Ford Focus 2005
  8. Hi everyone, I recently purchased a '57 Mondeo that only came with a '3-button key'. I would like to have another key as a spare, but am considering the 'fold-up blade' type. They are widely available on the net. I know some high-street locksmiths can cut said blade, and the Hayne's manual explains how to tune the remote key to the car. However, it still won't start without the transponder tuned to the car, which seems to be easy IF you already have 2 working keys (which I don't!). Could any of you recommend a way sort this out, or is it more cost-effective to go and see the dealership? Thanks for your help, Boosh.
