  1. Hi all, First post, apologise in advance. I've a 2012 Mk7 Fiesta, Zetec, and I noticed a few weeks ago that when I filled up the car (full tank), the estimated mileage on the car had changed. It had gone from the usual 315+ miles (when I purchased back in July), which lasted for a few months, to around 275+ miles on the clock. Is there anything in particular, other than driving manner, that could cause this? As I've only had the car a few months and 40 mile drop is a bit weird.
  2. 1993 Mondeo 1.8 Sale Advice

I am looking for some advice please. My friend has a Mondeo, as above, that her husband bought as new - it was the first brand new car that he had owned - and unfortunately he passed away suddenly a week after buying it. My friend (his wife) has used the car very little in the past 22 years - the actual genuine mileage on the car is about 23,600 and it has always been kept in a garage. It still runs well and sailed through this year's MOT. She now is seriously thinking about selling it and realises it's value will be relatively low, but, because of the history, she is desperate for it to go to a buyer who will appreciate it. She would hate to see it around locally being run into the ground. Are you aware of who she could approach who might be interested in buying and appreciating the car please ? Many thanks for any help that you may be able to come up with
  3. One Of The Lowest Mileage Mk2's?

My grandparents have a 2006 MK2 Zetec 1.6 Petrol Automatic as their daily driver. (When my Grandpa's Supercharged Jaguar S Type is not being used) I noticed today that it's only covered 32,000 miles since new! Surely that's one of the lowest mileage MK2s out there? Anyone have one/seen one with lower miles?
  4. Hi, new to the forum. My wife recently purchased a Fiesta 1.0 eco boost titanium model. The expected range of a full tank is according to the ford website around 600 miles, however the range displayed on our car is roughly 275 on a full tank and that is what we are getting before we have to fill up again It is mainly used for local driving, she drives carefully and even uses the stop start function. The full tank still costs the same amount of around £50, so it's not the tank size. Mileage on 4/1/2015 was 27441 when I filled up - range States 271 miles to 0 mileage on 7/1/2015 was 27701 before I filled up - range States 273 to 0 So we only got 260 miles between fill ups. Does anyone have any ideas .
  5. Hi All. We've been on a bit of a run between Huddersfield, Sheffield & around these areas. I have uploaded these pictures to show the results of fuel consumption. A few notes; I wasn't trying to achieve anything, just driving with traffic. There was no harsh driving, I didn't hang around either, overtaking several times under the correct conditions. I was wondering if (anything), people thought of these numbers. The fuel used was Texaco ordinary diesel, with a 1% Millers Ecomax additive. Cheers, Martin .
  6. Hi everyone! I am not actually a member of the Ford fraternity just yet - I am on the look out for a Focus estate diesel but really need some help......PLEASE!! My budget is £4k - £5k. All of the cars within 60 miles have between 80k - 100k on the clock. I have seen a 2008 1.6 TDCi with 104k on the clock for £3995. I have asked Honest John for "his" advice and he said to steer clear because i could be looking at a £5k repair bill for "new DMF and clutch, new DPF system, new turbo, new EGR". While I respect his advice, I would also like some real world users advice because it is easy to predict the worst case scenario but surely not EVERY car that reaches 104k miles will need a £5k repair...?!?! This will be my first diesel so some advice on what to look out for would be really appreciated. Thanks everyone!
  7. Hellpppppppppppp Hi everyone I hope some one can help, I recently purchased a 2008 ford fiesta st with 12000 miles on, since I bought the vehicle I have noticed a knocking noise on the front left of the car when I turn right and touch the accelerator, I have had this in the garage and they are stumped, they have changed parts of the suspension, steering and also the drive shaft which has not fixed the problem I am at my wits end and feel like getting rid of the car, knocking noise aside the car is great but I don't want a car that is going to knock every time I turn right I'm hoping someone can help, maybe they have had the same problem or know someone who has had a similar problem Thanks Chris
  8. Hiya, just got my car back from the garage after £1100 work fixing a new clutch and flywheel. My mondeo zetec (2010) Tdci only has 35000miles on the clock. Is this normal? Has anyone else had unexpected clutch failures? Is it a well known problem of mondeos? Thanks for your help and input Anska
