  1. Apologies in advance for the length of this post but there are a lot of issues to resolve and I’d really appreciate some advice, guidance and comments. This is my 2006 Focus Zetec Climate 2.0, Eve. I want to fit an ST body kit and get her looking fabulous once again. I got her in July 2006 with 6,000 miles on the clock, in seemingly immaculate condition. She’s now done 62,000 miles and is looking a little battered and bruised but is a great car, mechanically sound and very reliable. Here’s a tour of her various issues… The front bumper took a nasty wack and also has some scuffing on the corner: Options to fix: replace with either a new or salvaged ST bumper. The bonnet has a weird dent on the right hand ridge and four rusting stone chips: Options to fix: get it repaired by a body shop or replace with a salvaged bonnet. We had a fight with a multi-storey car park. We lost. The rear passenger side door is a mess: Options to fix: get it repaired by a body shop or replace with a salvaged door (I’d need to retain my current trim and speaker). The rear wheel arch also took some of the pain: Options to fix: get it repaired by a body shop. I reversed into a stupid hand rail in a hospital car park and created this lovely dent: Options to fix: replace with a salvaged tailgate (I think the dent is too close to the edge for a body shop to easily rectify). The rear bumper has a little scuff too: Options to fix: replace with either a new or salvaged ST bumper (I need to retain the reversing sensors). The rear pillar has some deterioration to the paintwork which has become gradually more apparent over the last few years. I guess there was a small touch-up job done here prior to me owning the car: Options to fix: get it repainted at a body shop or do nothing. The rear driver’s side door has two nasty stone chips, the one by the door handle has dented the panel. Options to fix: get it repaired by a body shop or replace with a salvaged door (I need to retain the trim and speaker). As additional issues, I’d like to replace the standard spoiler with an ST, add side skirts (which may cover up some of the damage to the wheel arch) and tidy up my wheels – I’m contemplating getting them painted black rather than replacing them. As I’ve been thinking my way through this project I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I should get the car vinyl wrapped. This would help with a number of the above issues and (as long as I had neat panels underneath) would give the car an “as new” appearance. I think my plan should be as follows: 1 - get quotes from a body shop for repair prices for the wheel arch, doors and bonnet. If I’m wrapping then paint finish isn’t important, I just need clean, dent free panels. Any recommendations of body shops in North London, Herts, Essex? 2 – source replacement parts that can’t be repaired economically in stage 1. Parts I may need: bonnet, 2 x rear doors, tailgate, ST front bumper and grille, ST rear bumper, ST spoiler, ST side skirts. If I wrap the car, it doesn’t matter so much what colour the replacement parts are… my gut feeling is that I should go for black doors and tailgate and worry less about the rest. I assume using salvaged parts would be considerably cheaper than new, can anyone give me a rough guide as to what I should expect to pay. Where are the best places to find parts? 3 – fit it all. I’m a proficient DIYer but not experienced with fiddling around with cars. I’ve got a decent tool kit and a Haynes manual, what can go wrong? From what I’ve researched so far I think I should be able to replace all of the various body parts (although I am a little nervous). 4 – get it wrapped. I’ve got a budget for all this of around £2,000. Thank you if you’ve made it this far! I really appreciate your time and any assistance you can offer. Dan

  11. Hey guys, I'm doing some planning for a little retro-fitting and I need to know how can you call this thing on the front window, around the top of the window and around the rain sensor... Since my front window is in top shape, I'm not very in the mood of changing it to the one with sensor built in, so I'd like to use some sort of wrap, or tint or something like that, to fake the original look of the window with sensor... I found black tint on eBay, which I can use for the center black part of the sensor, but the perforated part seems to be "unsearchable" for me (not being a native english speaker and all)...shops here which install window tints looked at me like I'm crazy when I wanted something like this from them, so I think I'm left with eBay... Can you give me a hint on what I can look for? Thanks ;)

  14. Got my roll of Vinyl wrap today (4d carbon fibre),First attempt on the spoiler was terrible, second attempt was better but not perfect,Is it actually possible to do the spoiler in 1 piece?Ive never seen one done for a mk2 focus before,What sort of technique do you apply as everytime i got to doing the bottom it seemed to fold into itself and there was no way of stretching any creases out as it had already been stretched on the top side to get around the stupid curve. I then done the trim around the gear leaver which was easy. I couldnt manage to unclip the frame around the radio,i could get the bottom 2 clips undone, but it felt as though if i applied any more pressure at the sides it would just snap the plastic (6000cd),do i have to remove the radio to get the trim off?
  15. Customising Your Focus!

Hey crew had my focus a little while now, enjoy every bit of 1.8 zetec there is. But my creative juices are stirring and now im itching to change her looks So far iv stuck an aux, subwoofer, some stickers, and air deflectors... but lets be honest thats a poor attempt really. I lack much 'knowhow' what i mean is, im too frightened to do something wrong, so my practice is limited. Iv a whole shopping list of things id like to do but dont really know how or where to go about doing most of it. Wondering if any you have similar passions and could help me out. things im interested in doing to my mk2 57plate, 1.8 zetec focus: body kit/ lowering(just want it to have stance) vinyl wrapping hood in carbon - wrap the roof in gloss black? definitely nicer wheels, something black, spokes and low profile window tint, dark fat exhaust, more for the sound but some performance is never a miss. possibly change to lights and other little bits what you guys think? really wanna discuss as much as possible. Im a Milton keynes boy and ideally wanna keep most work (if i cant do it) local ish will upload more updated pics of my ride when i can, could only find really early ones.
  16. Hi all. Recently bought a 3 month old zetec s ecoboost in hot mustard. Reason for getting it in hot mustard (basically a greeny gold) was that I only paid 10998 with 2.5k miles and current reg (63). Brand new the car was around 16.5 so thought it was a great deal, especially with privacy glass and much nicer 17in alloys. With the car being around 1k less than my budget and that fact I got a good deal on insurance (£904 19yrs old no NCD) I decided to get it wrapped in gloss/metallic black. I also got the alloys painted anthracite/gun metal colour to try and achieve a mean look. After shopping around with wraps finding prices from £750-£1200 I went for one that came recommended and with 3yr guarantee which I thought was important as I want it to last 2-3yrs. I paid £950, it started at 1k but paid cash so both parties happy. Also paid £200 for the alloys, painted inside and out (really top job and cheap too). Also stuck on some black DMB badges. Thought I would share my project and see if others have had good or bad experiences with wraps. All replies and questions welcome :)
  17. hi all looking for some general help please I have just come back from a long tour (armed forces) my car has been parked outside for over five months, I have a fully wrapped matte black fiesta zetec s. when I left the car looked the dogs Bs now it looks like it has been bleached on the bonnet and roof se photo attatched. I can only assume its hard water staining. i have tried pressure washing the deposits off but to no avail!! tried elbow grease but I don't want to damage the vinyl. apart from taking it back to Hendy ford to try and get it re- wrapped under warranty (probably slim to no chance) I am looking for a solution to the problem. are there any products that anyone can suggest? any help would be greatly appreciated Baz
  18. Hi There!

Hi all, I am currently driving in a 1.3 Fiesta Finesse which I have had for just over a year and I'm just looking for some advice on things to do to my fiesta to make look a bit cooler and general up keeping of my wee ford. Thanks for reading!
  19. Had some spare time today so vinyl wrapped my centre console.
  20. Carbon Fibre Wrap! Diy

Hi all,I invested in some carbon fibre wrap of ebay! for anyone who is thinking of doing this you will need a lot a time (a hole day) and patients it drove me crazy! and this is defiantly a 2 man job i tried it by my self and absolutely failed that extra person holding the heat gun whilst you wrap really makes the difference. The wrap i brought i found on another feed on here and the quality was really good for the price of it. so if you are thinking of taking you car to a company to get it professionally wrapped then spend a tenner on ebay first and have a go your self might save your self hundreds! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190640365448?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321031053152?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 i also brought some carbon fibre steering wheel trim http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280949069192?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 had a break for a week and carried on and now its all finished carbon fibre steering wheel trim
  21. Air Vent Trims!

Hi all, does anyone know how to remove the little plastic silver surrounds from the air vents? There are 4 in total and I need to remove them as I'm looking to wrap them in black. The car is an 08 reg focus Zetec (facelift) Thanks in advance! If left to my own devices i'd end up snapping them :/
  22. Hi guys! :D I'm new to the forum. Just registered today :D I have a 2010 Ford Fiesta Titanium 3dr. I just found out that my country doesn't offer the Zetec or Zetec S. So i'm stuck with the titanium.... I need help regarding some mods I wanna do to the car. I'm thinking of adding Xenon lights to my car along with a strip of LED's on each headlamp to make the DRL effect. I was wondering whether or not replacing the stock OEM lights with aftermarket xenon kits would void my car's headlamp warranty etc. I saw a pic of a Fez with xenons and DRL lights and it looks amazing! I wanna do something like that with mine. (See attached pic) I've just got the roof of my Fez done in matte black this weekend using Hexis vinyl. Overall it turned out quite nice. Most of the "modifications" to the Fiesta have been done by myself except for the roof. So far: This is what it has: Original Ford Fiesta Titanium rims done in matte black Lower part of front bumper in matte black Side mirrors in matte black Petrol cap in matte black Boot piece in matte black with blacked out "Fiesta" emblem Side skirts in matte black. I'm waiting for my Laminx Gunsmoke film to arrive so I can do the front and back lights. I saw this picture in the forums of a Fiesta with a RS style exhaust system. I want to get something like this done and I was wondering if modifying the vehicle's exhaust system would void the car's warranty. I think the twin exhaust look in the Fiesta looks really, really good. I really like it. Do you guys think that they could just cut holes in my current rear defuser? Instead of changing for a whole new different one. Thanks a lot guys!! Appreciate it.
  23. Interior Mods

Ok guys I have seen pics and posts of your mods inside and have become somewhat inspired to do my own so I have come seek advice and your opinion First of all I'm think red footwell and map lights Second I'm wanting the area around the sound system wrapped all the way down and past the gearbox/handbrake the silver door panels and the silver on the steering wheel wrapped and probably the silver around the blowers done too I was thinking white/silver carbon fibre as its rarer and I personally think better than the black I might if I have the correct knowledge put in a second boot light and obv brighter bulbs. so to wrap these bits can I take each bit out ? If so anybody got a guide for me to do so could you send me a link and let me know what you guys think Oh ps any other suggestions are welcome
