  1. Sony DAB upgrade

Hi Am looking to fit a Sony DAB 6CD changer to a Mk 2.5 2009 reg Focus. The radio has the Part Number: 8M5T-18C939-MD. Is this compatible?  As I understand it to get DAB working I would need to get The DAB aerial upgrade kit which includes the following .1559265 Aerial Mast.1559268 Aerial Base.1682844 Wiring.1575793 Wiring Could i get away with using some kind of splitter? In the future I will also be looking at upgrading the Bluetooth module which currently exists to one which supports A2DP and possibly USB. My current module has the code 8M5T-19G488-AM which I understand does not support those functions.  Is there anything else I could have missed? Many thanks
  2. Dear All! First of all, thanks for your time reading my first post! I've been searching for in the web for a solution of the following issue. For this, I think it will be better to tell all the history and procedures I made. 1 - I had a 2010 Focus Mk 2,5 Ghia equipped with the Visteon c307 radio. I've used the bluetooth audio to listen music for a while, with no problem. The quality and volume loudness was similar to USB, Radio and CD functions. I was using a Motorola XT1097 to play songs. 2 - Now I have a 2011 Focus Mk2,5 Ghia. Equipped the same stereo. At my first BT connection, the volume was terrible. I was using it on 15 to reproduce similar to 7 on USB. I've downloaded an app to the celphone (Bluetooth Volume) and the problem have been fixed. Although, the volume is the same with other mobiles. 3 - I've broken my phone and bought a new one, same model and Android version. Now, neither the app is working to fix it. I've also tried with an old Nokia phone and a New Iphone 6, none of then presented a satisfactory volume level. 4 - I've updated my bluetooth firmware to 3.30-5, nothing happened to improve it. 5 - Also, my stereo sometimes initiate the voice control by itself and bug the face buttons if I use the steering wheel control. 6 - Using volume booster apps, I have noticed that the sound receive the music loud, and holds the volume. Seem to be a "no clip" function. I have already tried to disable it on the Menu, but it didn't make any difference. Also, changed the EQ, it was properly setted to User. Do you guys have any idea to fix the volume? Thanks in advance and best regards!
  3. Hi all, First post, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I've just bought a Fiesta ST MK6 08 plate with the Sony 2nd Gen CD player http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo165/fordfiestast_co_uk/Album%20Four/f2efc84f.jpg I want to switch out the CD player for one with a USB plugin, but also want to make sure the steering wheel controls still work, I'm pretty sure I need a double din, something like this http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-jvc-kw-r510_p-32186.htm I've been into my local Halfords and they needed me to confirm if some kind of connector was bowed or unbowed?! Can anyone let me know if the CD player I linked will work and what kind of connector cables/other parts I will need? Also if I need a bowed or unbowed connector of some sort? Thanks Chris
  4. Hi all, First post! I've just bought myself a 58 plate Titanium, I'm massively pleased with it, I made sure it had some of the gadgets I wanted such as cruise control, parking sensors etc. knowing that I could have a go at retrofitting the bluetooth myself (and for an added bonus get USB support! - fingers crossed). I know this is a heavily discussed subject, but please bear with me, I have done my research. So, I have the Sony single CD (no DAB) with MP3 support, and I've checked the firmware (press and hold 1 & 6 together then turn on stereo) and it's 05-03-03 so I think I'm also good for USB support. I've also got the correct light housing for the microphone and it looks like I have a wire stowed up there to clip the microphone into. I've taken the glovebox out and I'm pretty positive I don't have the wiring loom for the bluetooth/VC module so this is the only sticking point so far. I'm just about ready to email Ford Parts UK to get a quote and place an order and could do with a few pointers before I go ahead. Any help is hugely appreciated. I have the microphone wire, where does this come out? I had a 3 pin black and red socket taped to the existing AUX input cable, it had white/black, yellow/black, and black cables attached. Is this it? Once I've confirmed, how am I going to attach this up to the new wiring loom? I found an excellent guide to fitting USB in the glovebox with an original bezel to hold the USB here http://www.fordxr5tu...p?topic=12187.0 It says the the Nokia bluetooth module has been replaced with a Novero (1726157 Module (AU7T-19C112-AR) is this OK for my stereo and will it give me full USB/ Voice control support? Once I've got it all installed what do I need to ask Ford to program with the WDS, I've seen various things posted, but I get the feeling I'd turn up and they wouldn't know what I was on about? Can anyone tell me exactly what to ask for? I've gathered part numbers from all over the place, it looks like they get replaced with never versions, can anyone confirm the below? Bluetooth: 1726157 Module (AU7T-19C112-AR, 2010 Module Bluetooth BT/VC+USB Connect) 1353218 Module Bracket 1355147 Screw For Bracket x 2 1318965 Steering Control Stalk 1532666 Bluetooth Mic 1467152 Retrofit patch loom for universal fit. (there seems to be different versions of this for focus/fiesta??) USB: 1543691 USB cable 1543450 USB socket 1550778 Glovebox bezel Finally if anyone can recommend anywhere to get hold of some of the parts other than Ford Parts UK that would be appreciated, I've not had much luck sourcing stuff on ebay.
  5. No power to radio

Hi, looking for some help on the off chance someone can provide some advice. I've got a ford focus 1.6 2009. I've had problems with the stereo. The led remained on and continued to drain the battery. I brought it to someone a year or so ago, he couldn't find the problem, so it was just left. I've now got a new stereo and whilst installing it I discovered there was no power running to the stereo. Any advice??
  6. Upgrading audio unit?

Hi - I have a 2004 Fusion 3 Mk 1 with a 6006 head unit with 6 CD changer (see photo).  The radio reception isn't the best on these units and having driven a ford with a Sony unit recently the signal to noise threshold was a lot lower so the FM reception much better. The question is - despite the fact I would have to cut the dash to fit and make it look good afterwards - can I retro-fit a first-generation Sony unit (see photo) to my Mk 1 Fusion 3?  The last time I changed a stereo was when all the wires were done manually 1 by 1 and obviously they all have multi-plugs these days.  If dimension-wise it would fit would the connecting block be the same?  The 6006 unit is split into three so I would have to cut the dash I know.  Are the units an identical size? Many thanks in advance, Nick.
  7. I have a Ford Focus Zetec 2008 with the Sat Nav radio upgrade in it and I'm looking to swap it out for the Pioneer SPH-DA120 (but am open to options). Just looking for some tips on the things I may need to get this fitted, I know this is a double DIN aftermarket radio so I'm assuming I will need to buy a new fascia panel as well as a new cage(?). Does anyone know the type/how to find the type of kit that would make the current steering wheel stalk controls compatible with these aftermarket radios? I see Halford's offer a couple but are simply labelled "ford", are they compatible with all/most models or will I have to find a specific version for my car? Any tips on what to look for here? The current fascia panel I'm looking at is this but I'm going to check to see if the current cage is compatible that houses the Ford one at the moment to see if I can just get the plastic font part instead of the entire cage. Long shot: The sat nav directions from the current Ford radio come up on the centre of my dashboard (a distance to the next turn, an arrow and a road name) as well as on the screen itself, is there anyway I can get this back with an aftermarket system? (I'm assuming not). Thank for your help! Aaron
  8. Hello everybody, I am new here but look forward to providing more topics, I understand this might already be a topic but I am struggling to find it, Whenever I am in my car my Bluetooth will not connect. My phone wont find 'SYNC' and the Bluetooth in the car just comes up with the pairing code, I know that its not my phone as I have had 3 of my mates try, it started two days ago and I have only had the car two weeks now, has anybody else had this problem? 9. Ford Sync Bt Audio Shenanigans

Hey Guys! I'm having a weird issue with my Ford Sync... my phone connects fine over Bluetooth for signal/SMS/etc. but whenever I try and play BT audio it immediately disconnects (but the other parts stay connected, like the signal display). I can go onto BT audio with music paused and it'll say "Connect a device", but then the moment I press play it'll flash up for a second with the track/album name and then "Disconnect" so no audio comes through. It was working fine for ages just started doing this recently! Any suggestions?

  12. Hello, I had to change my battery yesterday in my 2007 s-max titanium, so I now have to reset my radio. I have the keycode and have tried following the instructions, but nothing seems to work. I manage to key in the code, but I can't then seem to confirm it. And now I have to wait 30min everytime I start the engine before I can try again! I am missing listening to my radio :-( Thank you
  13. My Ford Mondeo was working fine until today when the radio packed in. It is now switched on showing the clock but with the dash lit up even though the engine is off. I was driving along listening to a CD and had my phone connected to the radio with Bluetooth. A call came in and everything seemed to freeze. I was unable to answer the call but also unable to get the radio to switch off phone mode back to the radio. I disabled the Bluetooth on the phone to disconnect it from the radio. I tried switching to radio. I tried switching the radio unit off. Nothing. I was able to eject the CD. I went to a meeting and parked the car and the radio unit was still on. When I returned (4 hours later) it was still on but the car started and I drove in silence as the radio didn't do anything. I am able to use the steering wheel controls to select channels on the radio or switch to CD but the radio unit doesn't respond. I have now returned home and parked up for the night. The radio display is the clock with a faint background glow. I worry my battery will drain overnight. Is there a way to reboot the radio unit? Will I need a security code if I pull the fuse out - and if I don't have one, where do I get it from. Any help appreciated, Andy
  14. Hello, My Ford Fiesta 4500 RDS headunit , will not change volume ? I have tried another headunit (the same one from eBay) and exactly the same issue . The headunit will turn on and play music but you can not change the volume or turn it off/on . I previously did have an aftermarket headunit in it, which did change volume , Im now reverting back to the standard headunit. Has anyone had this problem or know the fix? Thanks
  15. Hey everyone. Could someone give me a solution to my problem. My bluetooth, usb and aux are not working. The voice button and the aux button don't work at all and the phone button just mutes the radio. In settings it states that bluetooth is off with no option to turn it on. Nothing happens when the phone is plugged into usb or the headphone jack. So far I've checked the fuses, unplugged the bluetooth module for a while to reset it and removed the radio and sync fuses for a while in hope that it will reset. I've read that a factory reset may work but I can't find a way of doing that. Another one is to unplug the battery but will I not be required to then put a security code into the radio, which I don't have. Thank you in advance for the advice.
  16. Hi all, My friend has a Ford Focus ST 2007 plate, I am currently trying to connect his phone to his Sony Stereo is Is the Sony 6CD 132 I have attached a picture for clarity. Anyway I am trying to connect his phone via Bluetooth. I can find it on the phone as Ford Audio but when I try to connect it says connection unsuccessful. Also there are currently 3 phones connected from previous owners which I can't figure out how to delete. If anyone has this stereo and has successfully connected their phone or knows how to connect it then I would be extremely grateful if you could help me! Thanks Billy
  17. Hey everyone, I am in a right pickle, i am having my 61 plate Fiesta upgraded to a DAB radio, but the boff's down at my local Ford for all their hard work cannot get the DAB to work, or fire into life!???? They have got the DAB radio.. Radio AHU DAB, put the aerial in + mast, ran the cable down to the boot area and put this module in that goes in, which is like a secondary aerial for DAB. Got a black n white screen and put that on, think they mentioned "some" programming of the screen so that it would work with the radio. Radio works, but they cannot get the dab to work??? If anyone has done this, or there is a Ford Tech that can offer some light, i would be very very grateful! They have just drawn a blank now, they said the display screen is also a module apparently, and there were certain parts that may need programming to the brain of the car, even a worry the car would not work?????? If any of you have an idea, please just mention it, it may be the one bit they are missing, but they said it all works, just not the DAB, like some sort of diagnosis box to tick to tell the car there IS DAB....!?? Please Help..
  18. Hi All, New person here! :) Hope you are well :) I have a 2006 Focus ST-3. When I start the car the sat nav (denso - similar to http://www.fordwiki.co.uk/images/6/65/Satelliteinstall1.jpg) unit starts flickering for a while and then it stops and I'm able to use the screen and controls. When I press the phone button though it says "muted" on the screen when it should go into "bluetooh" mode. I know the bluetooth module is faulty as it has been working previously, up until the alternator went which apparently damaged it. I have tried accessing the diagnostics and resetting some of the logs and tried restoring factory default settings which have not worked (from http://www.fordwiki.co.uk/index.php?title=Touchscreen_Sat_Nav_-_Information_and_Diagnostics_-_PART_1). I have 2 things in mind, one to disconnect the bluetooth module (does this mean I will lose audio?) and secondly to replace the module itself (probably later on). I have seen some posts around the internet about pulling out certain fuses and retro fitting modules but I am not really an expert and would appreciate if someone could provide step by step instructions with images or a guide for this specific car and unit. If you have any more questions or need more info please let me know! Thank you!
  19. Hi There I recently purchased a Sony DAB unit on eBay with the intention of upgrading my existing standard stereo. The Sony came off a 2012 fiesta as well so I figured it would be a straight swap (excluding the DAB aerial of course), oh how wrong was I! turns out the Sony unit has an extra 26 pin connector at the back as well as the additional aerial connector (see pic). It also doesn't have the usb plug the standard stereo has (though I'm not really fussed about that as I'm not gong to be using it). So what I want to know is, what is this extra 26pin socket for? can I still use the newer stereo without it? is there some kind of funky franken-connector I need to make in order to get it to work? Or should I sack it off, sell the unit on eBay and find another solution? Some help on this would be greatly appreciated. I've seen similar threads on this before but the other stereo involved was different from my standard one and so the solution doesn't seem to be the same
  20. Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum so hey. I've recently bought a 1.6 petrol 2009 plate Zetec S Fiesta and like some of you before me, I've experienced some frustration with the audio system. It connects via Bluetooth and I can make and receive call via Bluetooth, however what I cannot do is stream music easily. I've been searching through the past posts and someone mention selecting the voice command and saying "External Device/Bluetooth/Play Music" and it will play the music. This is great but I'd like to control the music via the steering wheel buttons, see the track playing on the screen, and select Bluetooth audio via the interface not by voice commands. Things I know: Updated the firmware to the latest one i could find, the 2012 November update. The car does have BluetoothCan make and receive callsUsing voice command I can hear the music streaming through BluetoothThere is no option using the interface to select Bluetooth audio ( why:( )This is the only thing that bugs me about the car, and one of the reasons I had to have a Bluetooth capable car. I hope someone can help if so I'm sure this will help many others. Thanks KumiSinghs
  21. Ford Sync Reset

Hi, Apologies if this has been covered, I've searched and found some info but I'm still a little unsure. I picked up my new 13 plate Fiesta Titanium X, which I believe has Ford Sync and Ford Sync Applications. I can connect my phone via Bluetooth and I can make/receive calls and it seems to access my contacts okay via voice command. However, If I select phone, I am presented with Call Log, Phonebook, redial etc.. But, I can not scroll through the options or select any of the options? The scroller definately works as I can navigate other options fine, clock or vehicle settings for example. I have tried it with no phone connected but still can not navigate through the phone options, I have also noticed that if I select Menu, I can scroll and highlight both Ford Sync Setting and Ford Sync Aplictions but I can not select either. I have tried pushing right in the scroll pad and also selecting okay to no avail? From the posts I have read already it has been suggested that I should pull the fuse for my Sycn but I am a little unsure about this? Can anyone help me out? I've spoken to a Ford dealer, I gave them my VIN number and they said I don't require an update and that they would look at it for £45 ... Trying to avoid this if possible. I have the Sony sound system btw, any advice or input welcome. Thanks in advance. Otherwise, loving my Fiesta!
  22. Usb/bluetooth Module

Hi, My USB in the fiesta has always had issues from pretty much when I had it, from freezing to not recognising the USB. Usually to fix the issue, disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting would sort itself out. Well today, it's had enough it won't work at all. Pressing the AUX button on the dash - does nothing Pressing the bluetooth button on the LH stalk - does nothing I had a quick search on the forum, and people are pointing towards the USB module, after a quick google/youtube, I found this video Edit; Found one on a ford parts website http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_mobile_phone_bluetooth_voice_control_interface_module___f_1806653_c_460.htm After removing the cables and then re-fitting, the AUX button now changes the screen to (LINE-IN), it recognises that the USB stick is being inserted and removed although won't bring up the option to play any of it. The USB is working in the slot as it is flashing. The bluetooth doesn't work at all, it recognises the phone + contents of phone book although upon dialing it won't connect to the phone at all. My feeling is the module is knackered and requires replacing. Has anyone come across buying one from ebay for example? Thanks
  23. Ford Fiesta

i have bought a ford sony cd player but cant get it to fit my ford fiesta what do i have to do to fit it can anyone help me plz
  24. Hi, This is my first post! I have recently obtained a Ford Fiesta 2003 as a present from my parents as my first car. I am wanting to change the stock radio which came with the car (the triple section 4500 RDS). I have been looking at possible radios to replace the old one with but I wondered if there would be any cable swapping required or whether I would just be able to use an adapter. Here are the radios I am looking at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-KDC-164UB-Radio-CD-Tuner-Illumination/dp/B00OTIDCSG/ref=sr_1_11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1444244224&sr=1-11&keywords=car+radio http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-CDX-G2000UI-Player-iPhone-Control/dp/B00GUD98JA/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1444244224&sr=1-8&keywords=car+radio I would really appreciate any advice you have on fitting these radios! I realise I need to cut away the three sections on the dash and a fascia. Thanks allot, Charlie Wood ************************************************UPDATE***************************************************** I have found out the information required and ordered a radio.
