  1. Hi there,  Can anyone tell me a suitable replacement GPS antenna unit for a 2009 Ford Focus. Sat Nav doesn't work and I've been told its due to the fact water has leaked under the antenna seal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ~ Scott
  2. Hi all, Looks like my driver seat (or frame?) is broken, it moves into the bottom left corner if pressed. If you get out the car and move the seat it moves into that bottom left corner. Does anyone know what to check and how to check it and how to go about fixing this problem? Thanks
  3. Help

Tight so basically, recently when I change gear slowly and have a little bit of gas on, there's a really loud squeaking/screeching sound from what sounds like my clutch. Does anyone know what this is or if it's a bad thing? Thanks
  4. Attempted Theft

Hi, I have recently bought a 2009 Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 (90) TDCi. (2 Weeks Ago). Just yesterday I returned to find that some scum bag had tried to steal the car. They gained entry via the driver door. The handle is missing, they must have used a screw driver to pop the latch. Inside the vehicle they have pulled off the plastic steering cover, and chiselled out the ignition from the metal chamber. In doing so the metal chamber which is part of the steering column has been broken in half which is what hold the ignition barrel in place. I have managed to put the ignition back into the correct position along with the immobiliser and the car starts. I would like to know advice on getting this fixed. Costs etc as I am unaware of the steering column is hydraulic or electric. I wanted to get advice before I phone my insurance company today. My excess is 250 voluntary and 200 compulsory. 450 in total. All advice is welcome. Thank you

  6. The other half has an old focus (02 plate) and the O/S/F electric window has gained a mind of its own. It will go down and usually refuse to go back up. When it does it might stop and then the next 'up' press will mysteriously send it back down again. On other occasions it will work fine. As far as I know there is only a switch and a motor in the door and the motor is working obviously so that would mean a switch right? But it seems to do it when it's damp which might suggest that its water getting into the motor connection. Has anybody else had this problem?
  7. This is an old subject but still relevant. My 2004 1.4tdi has broken springs twice, each time with little mileage and 3 years between. Annual mileage never exceeds 4,000. It seems the most common breakages are offside front and just about half a turn (7 inches) from the end of the first (bottom) coil. There is a Fiesta thread which mentions probs with vehicles built in the Cologne plant, Germany, in 2003/4. It seems Ford do not admit the problem although it is clearly a safety issue. As far as I know there has never been a recall - Bad job Ford! I have had 2 Dagenham Fiestas (Mk2 and 3), 2 Sierras and 2 Escorts and put about 100,000 miles on each with no failures. Look at the Fusion design and it is not conventional (with British Dunton designs) as previous Fiestas have square ended springs which sit properly. It seems the design is continental as there are reports of VW, Audi. Merc, BMW, Renault and GM failures. Fusion springs are tapered at each end and sit in a spiral housing in such a way as to encourage wear of the plastic covering, trapping dirt, grit and salt and premature rusting. It seems rust starts as a result of the plastic covering being pierced by friction plus grit or a small stone. Rust in the tiny hole then spreads causing the spring to fail. They always fail in the same place and one discussion thread indicates that broken parts can be interchanged between springs and they fit perfectly. Also, interchangeable with broken nearside springs. In an attempt to alleviate the fault Ford released a zinc plate modification which prevents rust through electrolytic action (sacrificial anode). Has anyone got a part No. for this or any further information on spring failures? Ta muchly
  8. New Member - Gps Problems

Hey, im Scott, I've recently just bought a ford focus, 59 plate, titanium X i think it is. Its got all the bells and whistles which, if im honest was the big selling point for me. Problem is.... Everything works great and i love the car... other than the sat nav isnt working. It doesnt know where it is because it cant find any satellites. I've read it needs upgraded, that it needs a new aerial, that it needs water removed from underneath... Ford said for £102 the will spend an hour having a "look" which im sure will only be the start of the nice long bill they will give me in the end. At the end of the day i need it fixed so if i have to then i will chuck it to ford but im hoping its a quick easy fix. Any help would be great! Thanks! Scott :)

  12. Apologies firstly as I'm a newbie to the forum. I own a 2006 FORD FIESTA ZETEC CLIMATE 5 DOOR HATCHBACK. Unfortunatley the other day, the bar that runs along the top of the 'cut-out' has broken off, it is un-repairable as the plastic joints have shattered. I have marked it in red on this picture : https://www.dropbox.com/s/v8oycemlhuf7vit/fiesta-door-mark.jpg?dl=0 I'd like to go about replacing it, and looking at some suggestions... Is the door handle replaceable, or is it a part of the whole door card ? I've seen a couple listed on e-bay, but some appear to have the part that I have broken missing ... Lastly, how easy is it to replace ? I guess there would be connections for the electric-door switch and radio speakers. I guess this would cost mega-bucks to get an official ford dealer to replace :D Thanks for reading, looking forward to your suggestions.
  13. Hi all, whilst I was fiddling about about removing the air temp sensor & a few other bits to clean I managed to snap the little pipe that's to the left of the attached image I've glued it back together & used gaffer tape to reinforce it but I'd rather replace it now I know it's been bodged. Does anyone know what it does? (my car drives fine incidentally) I was hoping to source a replacement for the weekend when I'm joining the blanked EGR valve club! Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

  16. I have a MK3 mondeo I was having a microphone taken out today from a third party head unit, unfortunately the people who were doing it were a clumsy mess forgot half of it and randomly kept snipping wires.... Anyway when I got home my fascia next to the front window on the passengers side fell off from the top and inside it appears to be broken. I will not be returning to the store and I could do with fixing this in the cheapest fashion since I will be selling the car shortly. If I was looking on ebay for this particular item what should I be searching for? Or could anyone recommend some sort of glue to keep it on which may be suitable?
  17. Hello, I recently purchased a Ford Fiesta Titanium from Evans Halshaw 2011. But I had a problem the other day when i went to eject a CD from the player and it started saying CD Malfunction. And would not give me the disc. I have now managed to get the disc out (2 days later) without me even pressing eject button? And now everytime i start the car I get a problem saying CD malfunction and have no function of CD on it. Please could anyone help with this issue? Is there anyway of reseting the radio? Or does anyone reccommend a battery disconnect? Many thanks in advance.

  19. Help! Broken Spring.

So I think my mk7 09 fiesta front spring is broken (sounds like there's metal hitting off metal when I'm going over bumps) and I need some advice. I've had to find a new mechanic because my last one was a friend of my ex and I'm concerned that I'm going to end up being ripped off because I don't have a clue what he's talking about. Roughly how much should it cost? And I've heard that your better getting them both done at the same time because once one goes, they both will? This is when being a man less, clueless girl isn't handy lol
  20. Hi, I have an 08 mondeo estate. For a couple of weeks I have been having intermittent problems with the ignition. The key will turn to point one and two in the barrel but sometimes ( is getting more serious) it won't turn to point three to crank. I think it may be the ignition switch? Can I replace this without changing key? Thanks in advance :)
  21. Hey Guys Car - Ford Focus CL 2008 I literally just need a plastic clip that fits the bonnet lock mechanism (the part the arrow points to the picture attached to this post). I don't want the entire pack which is $150 here in Australia. My parents live in the UK so I can organise postage if the part is located in Britain. For something that should be a few quid I don't want to pay through the nose for it. I have read the how to guide to fix the bonnet lock problem which helped me open the bonnet and by doing so I broken the clip with the prongs that the ball sits in which turns the lock. To clarify the arm part that attaches to the cylinder behind the ford badge is fine, its the clip that comes from the engine side which has snapped Any help much appreciated
  22. First of all i'm new to the Ford Owners Forums :) I own a 2012 Mk7 Fiesta Zetec S and my fuel filler system seems to have a metal bar stopping me from inputting the fuel nossle, was wondering if any of you guys had experienced the same problem? The car is going to Ford tomorrow to see what they can do, hopefully it's a quick fix! As you can see from the photo it has a metal bar which is stopping me from filling up! I have 10 miles of fuel and it needs to get fixed :(
  23. 2003 Ford Focus 1.6 Auto

I'm new to this forum and I'm not very good at these things so I apologise now. I have come to the end of my tether with my Focus. It seems to be allergic to rain which is not very helpful when you live in the UK. Not every time but every couple of months when it is particularly wet outside it cuts out and will not start. It has been to two different garages who cannot diagnose the problem. They seem to think it maybe the key or immobiliser but I have tried the spare key and it still cuts out and they also called in a Locksmith and £100 later still no answer. It broke down Monday after the torrential rain and only this afternoon has it shown some life and turned over and I was able to drive about 20 feet before conking out again. The time before this it broke down in the car wash so I'm certain the rain is the problem. Has anyone had a similar problem and most of all do you have an answer? When it does work I'm afraid to use it as one of the last times it broke down in the middle lane of the A12. Help!!
  24. Anyone know why my trip reset on my 2006 ford fiesta freedom isnt working? (it is Not the fuse problem) Can anyone either link me to a repair or tell me how to repair it please? Thanks
  25. Another Handle Issue!!

Hi Guys, I've had my new Street KA about a month now, and since owning it I have replaced the steering wheel, wheels, radio and rear window (cracked). Today my drivers side outside handle just all of a sudden stopped working. After working the door card off I have seen the plastic clip on the back of the handle has snapped off. I've ordered a nice new handle of eBay for it, I just want to know that once I fit the handle should that fix the issue or could there be something else in the mechanism broken? I only ask because when the problem first started I swear the clip wasn't broken originally, or it may just be me. Thanks for any help! Emma :)
