Hello, I've made a bit of a mistake and driven hundreds of miles with my trolly jack and jack stands to my parents house with the intention of putting some new pads on my mark 7 ford fiesta (as they have garage space). However I've left my haynes manual at home which has all the torque specs and minimum disc thickness info. Could anyone on here be a real star and snap/ scan the page at the start of the brake section which has the torque specs and minimal disc thickness info? Thanks in advance, J

    Hi all. I came across this mark on my car after shampooing and waxing it. It seems to be under the paint as the paint or gloss/shine isn't damaged. could someone advise/help me to what it is?
  3. I'm currently looking into some electrical problems on my Focus. I've a couple of other threads going, looking into various error codes relating to the PCM/IC modules. While reading another thread (here), someone mentioned a problem whereby the engine shakes when stopping the engine: This was apparently taken from a Haynes manual for a Mark 1 car. Mine's a Mark 2, but I'm suspecting the same mechanisms are fitted. My car is also shaking when I kill the engine. There's also an accompanying whine. There don't seem to be any error codes relating to this, but perhaps it's caused by the same problems I'm looking into. Does anyone have any more details on what this problem might be? e.g. Which modules it's related to, and what I can do to investigate further. I haven't found any other threads relating to this, though could have been looking in the wrong way. Thanks in advance :)
  4. Apologies in advance for length... I recently repaired some crash damage to the front of my Mark 2 Focus. The repair involved a new bumper, passenger-side wing, ECU housing, all the bits of plastic in that area, tie-rod, other wheel bits, etc. Basically the front and front nearside of the car. The car was sitting for about 2 years, during some of which it was exposed to the elements, some of which it was garaged. When outside, the ECU was hanging free, but protected by a plastic bag. (There wasn't really anything in that area of the car to protect it. The car was also covered by a tarp.) I recently (finally) finished the repairs, and the car passed its MOT first time, with the only note (advisory?) being that parts of the underside showed corrosion. That was a couple of weeks ago. I'm now having what I assume to be electrical problems, which started a few days ago. 1) Main problem The following lights show all the time on the dash: red battery warning light yellow engine management light The central LCD says ENGINE SYSTEMS FAULT. (With the red LED next to it being lit.) The car starts and runs fine. I've read the faults with a reader and found the following: U0140 - lost communication with body control module U0422 - invalid data received from instrument panel or body control 2) Intermittent problem #1 The Main Problem remains, but with the addition of: STEERING ASSIST FAILURE on the LCD screen. (With the yellow LED next to it.) The handbrake warning light starts to flash. The car continues to drive, and it doesn't seem that the power to the steering changes. 3) Intermittent problem #2 The yellow ABS warning light comes on while driving, and the speedo stops working (it just drops to zero mph). The tacho dial remains working fine. The car still drives fine. 4) Intermittent problem #3 This happened today. The whole instrument panel switched off while driving. The car remained running and moving, but I lost power steering completely during a turn. (Meaning I'm not using the car again until all this is resolved.) The turnover also became lumpy, but the car didn't stop or appear to slow down. (i.e. It didn't go into Limp Mode.) Problems 2), 3) and 4) give me the following error codes (I haven't decoded them): P03c1 C00e1 B17c4 P2200 So a right bag of problems. Where should I start? Has the ECU rotted away from the inside while the car was sitting out in the elements, or could it be something less drastic than that? Should I investigate the Main Problem first and hope that the intermittent problems will disappear once the Main Problem is fixed?
  5. I'm needing some help with a crusie control issue that has developed recently. Ford focus mark 2 2.0 tdci. It surges or pulses as if the brakes are being pulsed while at the cruisng speed I set. A bit like driving through lines of treacle. It only happens when trying to maintain the cruising speed. not on throttling up or down using the steering wheel controls. Ive had it into to the ford dealer who are perplexed. It's not showing up any error codes. However i have had the EGR replaced and the fuel filter changed in pursuit of the problem but it's still there. Does cruise control apply any braking if you run over the set cruising speed? say going down a steep hill is it applying braking I'm asking my self? Where are the sensors for the cruise control? where does it get its info from for mainting a constant speed? Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

    We have bought a new pollen filter for our Mark 1 Focus and are aware that incorrect installation can lead to rainwater ingress, but I get the impression it is a very easy job. At the moment the breeze from the fan even at maximum seems quite feeble - assuming the pollen filter is filthy how much of a difference will I see?
  7. Hi Guys I've just picked up my first Ford having had Vauxhall's for the past 5 years. I have to DVR Camera's which I want to wire into the vehicle for piece of mind. However, when I've checked all the fuses, both front and rear I cannot find any ignition sources. Its a 2011 Focus Titanium with keyless entry. Where abouts can I get an ignition source from? Regards Charles ps. Sorry if this is already here, I'm afraid I'm used to the Vauxhall forums and still getting my head around the Ford forums!

  9. Hi All, Hopefully this isn't a really stupid question! I've recently bought a 2006 Fiesta 1.4 Ghia and whatever I do I can't seem to get the Audio Remote Control on the steering wheel to do anything, on both CD and Radio inputs. I've read the manual and it doesn't mention you having to do anything to turn this control on so I'm totally perplexed as to what I'm supposed to do! Any help very much appreciated! Cheers, Chris.

    hello, I own a Mark 6, 54 plate fiesta finesse. On the front bumper there is a dark grey / black plastic panel. would i be able to replace this with an ST bumper?     I'm looking to replace the silver air vent surrounds in my mk6 fiesta as they are quite scored. I'm tempted by gloss black ones but i can't find them. Is this something i would be better doing myself or is there somewhere i can buy them.
