  1. Fiesta Mk7 Firmware Update

Evening all, Apologies if this has already been covered, can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. Does anyone know where the firmware updates for the Mk7 head units can be found? All the links online seem to be dead. Is it still possible to find the updates to update the firmware via USB? The bluetooth audio in my ZS is a bit patchy when streaming music from an iPhone running the latest iOS. Cheers.
  2. Hi I have just bought a Mondeo 2014.5 2.0 TDCI Titanium X business edition with the inbuilt Blaupunkt 7 612 105 475 Sat nav system using Tom Tom maps and it has a hidden SD card (not that well hidden I just looked at it and it is version 4.1). I drive a lot in Europe and in UK and so I need warning of speed cameras mainly because the French road system is so variable you can't always tell the difference between a 70kph section and 90KPH section especially if the local vineyard tractor has knocked the 70KPH road sign down because the authorities put it in his 'convenient' exit!! They only allow you 4KPH over the limit before the fine arrives in the post!! My question is, is it possible to update the SD card with an after-market speed camera or danger zone POI database and if so which one and how? This obviously leads to supplementary questions like can you copy the SD card to keep a back up and can you write the new POI database to the card to update the system. Or even can you update the system via the inbuilt USB port in the central glove box? My neighbour can update his Citroen and his daughter's Renault and the other side can update their Toyota so I don't think that my question is too far fetched. Here's hoping someone has a solution, so far all my searching has not found a solution on any Ford forum. Note I wish to do things legally so I am aware that creating a backup of the SD card is legal since this has already been disputed both in the UK and European courts (so long as I keep the backup purely for my own use). Thanks in advance. PG
  3. I took my focus in for some work doing on the electric seat They fixed the seat but did a software change to the reversing system that has caused it to operate differently to when I first got the car. It now has a black dotted line on the camera screen that it never had, it now displays the grid that I used to have to select if I needed it and the rear half of the cars sensors no longer show up on the small pictograms in the top left of the camera screen, has anyone else had this issue or know why Ford made this change without informing me Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
  4. Hi all, Wondering if you can shed some light on my problem as I've read multiple responses and I'm torn between my mondeo needing the dreaded DMF change or weather it's something else. Starting the car there is a low engine note like a clunky misfire, if it were petrol I'd say s spark plug was buggered. Then the car idles with a clicking sound like a washing machine with a spanner in it but when I depress clutch halfway to bite point their is no sound. The car drives fine has covered decent mileage 170k but having read another reply that a guy had a software update and checked injectors and all was fine I'm wondering if anyone can help? I probably wouldn't bother spending the £500-£600 on the part and labour as the car is not worth it. Also a mechanic friend advised sticking in a single mass flywheel/clutch conversion kit and the car will go for ever? Is that advisable? I've read horror stories about it but I'm intrigued as I love the car and I cover a lot of miles and would like to keep it on the road. Thanks in advance for any advice. Car is a mk3 55 plate mondeo zetec 2.0 diesel
  5. I recently had a problem with my 2009 travelpilot fx headunit (non touchscreen) not turning on with a black screen and running the battery down over the period of 4 days. There is a good post about units with an extending warranty from Ford but unfortunately mine wasn't one of them. After having the unit disconnected for several days, it sudden it turned back on and I could get to the software service screen and it was running 0636_080814 (14th Aug 2008-the code is backwards I believe). But the can-bus steering wheel controls wouldn't work and it would occasionally not work when the car was started. You get to the menu by holding "Set and Nav" buttons at the same time, which gives a load of service options. After another week suddenly the head unit now wouldn't turn off even with the key out and car locked and the power switch did nothing. I checked the software version again and it read SW_Main No software. I found on a Dutch forum Travelpilot fx v4.1 firmware and instructions to burn to a cd and then updated the firmware, which looks like it works fine, but doesn't update the software version. I now believe you need to update from 0636 in stages to the most recent which I don't have. Can anyone tell me where to find any of the firmware discs to see if reflashing the head unit works, or if you have a Ford CD in the Hertfordshire or Essex area that I can see if works as I only have the original SD card and bought a European map card. Ford dealers said they had never heard of the problem and they didn't have any firmware disc like the forums say are available. But I could buy another head unit at £1500 plus fitting.
  6. Fiesta 2015 Update

Hello everyone! Has anyone else seen this? (Bottom of page, fiesta update) I find it annoying that NOW ford decide to add LED daytime running lights to all models above the STYLE trim level...
  7. Apologies if this has been posted before - was wondering if this might also apply to European Fords?
  8. Hi all, I've been having problems with my mk3 seems to hesitate when pulling away or will stutter then goes fine. Only happens now and again (thought it was my driving at first!) It seems to be getting a bit worse lately, and I'm aware there's a pcm update for a similar issue. Can an independent do this update, as the car is still under warranty from the local garage I had it from. Or is it a ford job? Cars due for a service and mot next month, so might get that done first to help rule any other possibilities out.
  9. Just saw this and wondered had anyone else, it's about changes done to your vehicles software ......
  10. Mondeo Sat Nav Dvd Update

Hi, I'm new to the forum so not sure if this topic has come up before. I've recently bought a 2008 Titanium X Mondeo with built in sat nav. I'm trying to update the DVD as it is still from 2008. The system uses a Blaupunkt DVD. I've been quoted two different prices from two different Evans Halshaw dealerships. One wanted £105 and the other wanted over £350. Ford have said its up to the individual dealers how much they want to charge! Can anyone give me any advice as to where the best place is to get an updated DVD and an idea how much it should cost. Many thanks Mick
  11. Mondeo Software Update

Hi Today my car got its first 12500 miles service. I asked them if they could do a software update as well and they said no problem. But when I collected my car they said there is no newer software available for my car. I have checked on Ford Etis website and there are few software upgrades available for my car. So, did I get a lazy mechanic to service my car or is Etis wrong ?? I have ROM version 1304 installed on my car at the moment. See attached screenshot.
  12. Hi All, I'm not entirely sure where to start with this - so I'll start at my problem. I've got a 2010 Mondeo with Voice control, BT and USB module installed (I'm not sure what software version - another issue again). iPod works well enough, as does USB - but A2DP BT Streaming seems glitchy at best. I stream from a phone and the audio seems very choppy, like an async sample converter is out. First question: Could there be a software update available for this or the radio unit? If so, can I be pointed in the place to start looking for them? (All the related software updates I see point to but it seems the software updates are no longer a supported item?) As it happens, I have a number of tools required to reverse engineer CAN busses, and some of the OBD2 lines (I know my Mondeo has at least a 500k CAN Bus over OBD2, and may have another on the proprietary pins). Second question: Does there exist a database which contains the decoded CAN ID's? At the same time, is there a pinout of the VC+BT+USB module? (If it's all the same, I'd like to save some time if possible And I can't find it for the life of me.) I can't see the factory module transmitting audio over CAN, so I'm assuming there's some audio lines, probably at least 4 combinations of +/- audio. All assumptions are that the infotainment system uses CAN to transmit data. This is all intended to be used in a personal project in my down time... And it would seem like a suitable challenge to develop a replacement module to fix the issues I'm currently having with it, and implement my own bonus features. :D
  13. I have the '61 plate Mk 3 Focus 1.6 Ecoboost 150PS (petrol) and I love it, but of course the mpg isn't exactly impressive as has been well documented. It's only got about 17K on it so hopefully it will improve, but I just wanted to let people know that it's just gained a couple of mpg apparently by updating the engine software. The Ford garage where I bought it recently offered me a free software upgrade (because they changed their name to Trust Ford), so I had it done with the result that my average mpg has risen from 34 to 36 (or from 36 to 38 if you believe the trip computer over maths). Not headline news but better than nothing! No idea what the update did, the bloke I dealt with didn't have a clue. That mpg is with mixed driving by the way, town & motorway, heavy & light-footed. Anyway just thought that might help some people.
  14. Hi Guys, New to the Ford Circuit and to this Site so please forgive me if this has been asked a million times. Having Major issues connecting my iphone 4s to the Bluetooth in the car Focus ST 2008, The phone finds it but will not connect. Ive tried everything i can and the last thing was to download an update patch of Ford's website to upgrade the radio firmware. Have searched high and low for the USB port in the car but cant find one? Glovebox, Armrest, beside the main Cigarette lighter? Is there a way to install the update without using the USB? Thanks in advance Glen
  15. does anyone know of any software that can be downloaded to pc/laptop to do the follwoing: 1) Connect to car to use as an obd2 reader and diagnostics reader (ie live data ect) 2) Any software that lets you browse parts for fords with the breakdown parts using diagrams ect. was just curious as it would be handy to use offline to look at parts and see what is replaceable and what parts splits where and with what bolts ect. something like the software the ford parts department use when you ring up they can tell you the exact part and all details around it. i though it may be handy of your planning any work so you don't come across anything that you forgot to get or didn't know about (ie gaskets seals or bolts ect). it would be even better if it had the part numbers as well.
  16. Mk6 Ecu Software Updates

hi-guys, had my mk6 1.4 petrol engine about 6months, can anybody tell if I need to get ecu software updates or any other updates that will be needed for my car, cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Hi to all! :) I was wondering, has anyone updated their SYNC system in their dealer? I have had my Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost since May 2013 and I thought that there might be some kind of update already... (nowhere near usb updates I guess) The thing is that my dealer isn't very helpful in what comes to modifications, whichever their nature is, authorized or unauthorized xD their goal is to sell a car and then they forget about any kind of support that isn't scheduled maintenance $$$ What firmware version do you have? Also, the Applink system has been announced for cars in Europe In September 2013 but there are no news yet, even though it's mid January 2014. Do you think it will come as an update to Sync enabled cars or will it only ship in newer vehicles? Share your thoughts please... Cheers!
  18. Hi There!

Hi all, I am currently driving in a 1.3 Fiesta Finesse which I have had for just over a year and I'm just looking for some advice on things to do to my fiesta to make look a bit cooler and general up keeping of my wee ford. Thanks for reading!
  19. Fiesta Audio Update

Hey there I am having difficulty installing the november 2012 ford audio update in my fiesta style and my mums fiesta zetec. I have the usb formatted to FAT32 and have put the files on the root on the stick but when I try to install nothing happens. We both got our cars in september 2012 so it should need updated. I do not have bluetooth but do have a usb could this be a problem. The zetec however does have both bluetooth and usb but still no luck. Any help would be very much appreciated :)
  20. SO....!!!! it would appear the stereo in my new 2012 focus edge doesn't like it's USB connection, it initially worked but then decided it would rather not work and now i Can't use the stereo to control the iPhone or any USB Mp3 device. I've done everything it says on here and it never starts the update!!! other than returning it to the dealer can anyone help me? I'm getting a bit desperate!
  21. I followed the manual instructions exactly, and I read all the posts on troubleshooting the software update, with no success. I put only the two english files in the root directory of the USB device, but it keeps saying "no files on device", and when turning the key on nothing happens. Tried disconnecting and connecting again, nothing. Suggestions? I'm not sure I need the update but thought it might solve another problem I have with the "store name" command (I opened a different post) Thanks.
