Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi everyone. I am having a bit of a nightmare with my dash cam installation in my Ford Mondeo Titanium 2009. I am trying to find a fuse within the central fuse box that powers on with the ignition. When I connect the nextbase hard wire kit fuse adaptor to piggyback on a fuse, the dash cam is always getting power. I have tried fuses such as "audio system", "instrument cluster" and "cigarette lighter". Shouldn't these fuses only be receiving power when the ignition is on? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Carl
  2. Hi all. I'm trying to hardwire in my Nextbase dash cam. I need an ignition switched fuse to piggyback onto. I've tried all the fuses under the dash but these all seem to be permanently live! I don't want the hassle of trying to feed wiring through into the engine bay. Is there an easy fix?? I've heard the cigarette lighter etc may have a 20 minute timer on it??? Is this for my model Mondeo?? I'm starting to pull my hair out.
  3. Hello, My screen washer on a 59 plate SMax 2.0 TDCI has stopped working. Had it into ford with an ECU problem, came back and washers had stopped working. I think it might be a fuse - but unsure which fuse it specifically is. I have checked washer motor energises when connected to a battery......but its not getting a signal from the wiper stalk I don't think. Can anyoine help me find the fuse I need to check first please......I have a feeling Ford might have removed the fuse when they were investing my previous ECU fault.....don't want to go back due to previous costs !!!!! I have tried to locate the fuse myself from the handbook....but as you can see in the attached images the fusebox looks nothing like what the handbook shows !! HELP PLEASE - which fuse and rating is the windscreen washer controlled by? Thanks. Chris
  4. Lights out

So after recently changing all my lights to aftermarket CEUK bulbs everything was fine until I decided to change the roof light as well -the one that goes on when you open the doors- wasn't until today I realised that my drivers side headlights and fogs were out along with my interior footwell lights... anyone else have this problem and find the solution, I know the fuses could have blown tried to get them out but they are nion impossible to get out if you don't have nails.. and the passenger glove box fuse box you have to take out the glove compartment, for the record I have a Fiesta mk7 13 plate, any help would be appreciated massively
  5. Keuk13

Hi all it's me the old boy again can any one tell me why I can't find fuses F17 and F18 in the under bonnet fuse board. They serve the passenger fuse board under the glove box. I have looked all over taking out fuse after fuse, but I'm still at a loss as to where these fuses are.any help would hopefully put me out of my misery. Regards ken sorry all car is mk4 mondeo titanium x.
  6. C max headlamp units

Hi out there, would appreciate some advice if anyone knows how to help with this one.... I started fitting new headlamp units to my c max only to find my sidelight stopped working on the driver side( I didn't fit the passenger side as wasn't impressed with the situation) when I put the old the headlamp back in the side light worked fine. I checked all the bulbs and assume the fuses are ok since the lights still work. I also checked the new wiring and sockets in the new unit and they seemed fine. Is it a bad earth? Or am I missing something? I checked and checked the bulb was seated in the socket too. Hmmmm
  7. Joined up to post this, hope someone has some knowledge they'd like to share :) I've wired in a dashcam to the central fuse box (2009 s-max) and I do NOT want to use a fuse which is permanently live. I thought I'll use the wipers or foglights, but having tried both of those, power does not stop being fed to them? The dashcam has a light on it so I knew it was being powered. I thought hmmm, the power may still be supplied for a while after locking the car so I locked it and came back after an hour - but the power light was still on (could see through the window) I don't want to drain the battery so need to either find one which isn't permanently on, or could someone explain why all the logical fuses which should not be live still carry on being live? Thanks :)

  9. Fiesta zetec s mk7

Hi i own a mk7 fiesta zetec s, i want to fit a dash cam and don't know which fuse to fit the wiring to, I've seen on here were people say you can use fuses 100 and 110, mine only go to 49? Any help would be great.
  10. Hi, I have a 2007 Transit Connect Torneo LHD, I had a problem with the n/s/r stop and tail lamp connections, they kept touching when the bulb was inserted and blowing the fuse, unfortunately when I tried to move the contacts on one occasion I had left the lights on, this caused something to blow, not the fuse that had blown previously, I now can't find any fuse that is blown and I have now side lights. Any ideas please. Cheers Steve
  11. Hi all, CMAX 2.0 Zetec Auto 2008 I have severe electrical issues at present (central locking, dashboard not showing indicators/lights & has engine electrics warning, now wipers stopped working last night). I believe i need a new internal fuse box (GEM/ECU ??) to replace the one in the passenger well of my CMAX which seems to have been damaged by water ingress. The part number is 7M5T 14a073 CC Apparently ford installed a blanket fuse box with all electrical functionality for the entire range ready to be programmed dependant upon the model sold with, but I have no idea what the part number is. Is it correct that any fuse box starting with: 7M5T 14a073 C... will work and just needs to be coded or do i need to find either exactly the same (CC) or the next letter along i.e. CD,CE,CF which i assume have higher functionality than the existing?? I have found one fusebox online 7M5T 14a073 CF that looks similar, apparently fits 2008 cmax models but I urgently need some guidance. cheers, GF2K
