  1. After driving my Focus MK2 for over 6 1/2 Years it was time for something new. Of course it had to be a Focus MK3. Unfortunately there were only a few (very young, low mileage) used cars for same in the country which met my requirements. After a long search and even considering a brand new lower spec car I finally found a suitable replacement for my Focus MK2: 2013 Focus MK3 5-doors Champions Edition My car is a German spec Focus MK3 Champions Edition. Because of the Ford sponsorship of the Champions Leage in 2013 Ford Germany offered this special (limited) edition for a few months. My car has the following options: Engine: 1.0 ECOboost 125 PS with 6-speed manual transmission. Color: Midnicht Sky metallic. Interior: Ultimate/Lux / Charcoal Black Options: Front and Rear Parking Sensors. Active Park Assist. Active City stop. Powerfold Mirrors. Power 1-shot Up/Down Front & Rear Windows. Global opening/closing (remote control) Rear Privacy Glass. Dual Zone Climate Control. Heated Windshield. Heated Washer jets. Heated Seats. Start/Stop System. Rain Sensor. Light Sensor. Front Fog Lights. SYNC with APPlink. DDS Tyre Deflation Warning System. Hill Start Assist. The car did have 16 inch alloy wheels as standard but because I like my own 17 inch alloy Focus MK2.5 wheels a bit more I decided to install my own wheels instead of the original 16 inch alloy wheels. In my opinion these wheels look great on the Focus MK3. During winter I drive on a set of 15 inch steel Focus MK2/MK2.5 wheels with Goodyear Ultragrip winter tyres. Despite 15 inch wheels were officially never available for the European Focus MK3 they fit without any problems on the 1.0 ECOboost models. The 1.6 TI-VCT and 1.0 ECOboost versions have 278 mm front disc brakes. This is exactly the same disc size as the Focus MK2/MK2.5 versions which were available with 15 inch wheels. On other Focus MK3 engine types Ford used bigger brakes which require at least 16 inch wheels. My Focus MK3 did originally not have Cruise Control. Cruise Control was not a standard feature on the German spec Champions Edition. Strange enough the first owner did order all possible options which were available on the Champions edition except Cruise Control. Because I am used to have Cruise Control and I really miss it I decided to retrofit Cruise Control to my car. There are some aftermarket solutions to retrofit Cruise Control to a Focus MK3 but personally I do not want an extra stalk or aftermarket buttons. So I decided to retrofit the OEM Cruise Control system. Because I could not find a mint condition replacement Cruise Control steering wheel for my car I decided to modify my own steering wheel instead of buying a new one. In my opinion it looks very good. The Cruise Control switch fits perfectly into the cutout I made at the side of the steering wheel. The Cruise Control switch is a very snug fit and all edges line up perfectly. The steering wheel does look exactly the same as an original Cruise Control steering wheel. From the outside there are no visible differences. I wrote a guide about retrofitting Cruise Control to a Focus MK3. This guide can be found on the following weblink: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/tutorials/article/274-retrofitting-original-cruise-control-on-a-focus-mk3/ After a few weeks I really missed the HID lights I had in my previous Focus MK2 so I decided to install new headlights. After a long search I decided to buy a pair of Sky Wing projector headlights. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y388/ford_focusMK2/DSC04006_zpsf2e7014f.jpg I installed a 4300K HID kit into the Sky Wing headlights. The light image and the light output are very good and the Sky Wing headlights look great. Next I decided to install DRL lights. I bought these lights from a Taiwanese seller on the AliExpress website. The DRL lights are made of high quality materials and look very good. Some time ago I found some illuminated rear bumper reflectors on Ebay. However the price was ridiculous so I decided to wait a little longer. A few weeks later I found the same reflectors in an internet auction. I made the seller an offer and bought the reflectors for a really good price. The illuminated rear bumper reflectors look really nice. The light output is about the same as the original taillights. I also made the following modifications to the car: * The "Focus" and "Econetic Technologies" badges removed from the tailgate. * The "Champions League" badges removed from the B-pillars. * Rear seat hinge covers installed (originally used on a focus MK1.5). * I installed front and rear Titanium interior lights with LED lights and reading lights. Because of the different wiring/connectors I made an adapter wiring loom to connect the Titanium interior lights to the standard wiring loom. * I installed the original footwell lights. I changed the red LED's to ice blue LED's (same color as original). * I changed the red/orange control lights of all switches to ice blue LED's (same color as original). * I changed the 3.5 Inch monochrome MFD display to a 5 inch Sat Nav colour display. Afterwards I retrofitted the complete OEM Sat Nav system. * I installed LED bulbs into the puddle lights. * K&N 57S air filter. This Year I plan to do some more modifications on the car. The next modifications are on my wish list: * New instrument cluster with a bigger display. * New OEM rearview camera.
  2. My 2013 ford fiesta 1L ecoboost's start stop isnt working, the button to turn it on and off just stays illuminated when pressed, you can turn the light off when the ignition is on but as soon as you start the car the light comes on and you cannot turn the light off, and therefor the start stop isnt working.  any advice  thanks
  3. Pleased to say that in the coming months I should officially be able to join Stoney's so called jammy beggars club! :P I have ordered a new 2015 Mk3.5 Focus ST-3 2.0 EcoBoost in Deep Impact Blue, with: Rear Privacy GlassHeated Steering WheelPremium Nav with Sony speakers & Sub.Rear View CameraDriver Assistance PackIt is a factory order, so I do have a bit of a wait, the car is currently scheduled for an unspecified September build, but reading about the delays with the ST (particularly ST-3), hopefully I will get it before my car is 1 yr old and needs taxing and servicing, at least before Christmas! As some of you will know, I was incredibly frustrated with the apparent "design-intent" of the 1.5 EcoBoost I bought last year, so much so I have dubbed it the EcoRattle. After months of trying to get the issue resolved, I have managed to come to an agreeable resolution for changing the car, as I just cannot live with the turbo rattle. I'm still going to loose out a bit financially, but at least I am getting an upgrade out of it. Test drove one a few weeks ago, and now I can't wait to get my own :D Should look like this: https://youtu.be/RUIwO11kV34 Updates Arrived at dealers: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/73233-new-2015-mk35-st-ordered-goodbye-ecorattle/?p=533167 Collection day: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/73233-alexp999s-mk35-focus-st-3-ecoboost/?p=533876
  4. Hi all!

Hi all New to the forums, having just purchased a Focus Zetec S 1.8 TDCi MK2. So hello all! I'm actually not a Ford newb, I've actually been prattling around in a 1.6 petrol 2003 Fiesta Ghia for 3 years, I thought the time was right for an upgrade. You can see photos of the Focus on my profile. Anyhow, it's good to be here and I'm sure I'll be around asking for some modification tips soon. :)
  5. Hi all,  I have been looking for a car to replace my 56 plate clio, which is starting to age rapidly. I've been seriously looking at a Ford Focus 1.6 Ecoboost Titanium at a local garage. I appear to be getting a good deal on it - 61 plate (registered feb 2012), 13000 miles, £8k The main thing that is slightly worrying me is the very low mileage for its age. I'm not sure if it has been used for very short journeys, or if it has simply not been used very much at all. Is there anything I should check in either situation? Are these cars perfectly happy at doing very short journeys all the time? Also, it has suffered some damage, which looks parking related to me rather than actually been hit by something. Down the passenger side both door hands are badly scuffed/scored. The offside front bumper and wing panel has also been dented and scuffed. Would these cause any issues other than cosmetically? I was only able to take it for a short test drive as I had another appointment to go to. It certainly appear to drive straight, no pulling to the side that I could detect. The dealer I would be buying it from is also a Ford body shop, so I have no real issues with them repairing it.  Is there anything you would be checking/asking the dealer about this car if you were buying it? I'm not exactly experienced in buying cars, this will only be my 2nd car, and my dad done most of the talking when we got my Clio. Thanks for reading my worried/excited/scared ramblings ! :-)
  6. Mileage

Hi all,  I am looking at buying a 2005 zetec s (1.6 TDCI)  its on 127k miles with a part service history, is this high for the engine? Or are they a strong engine past that? Also what is most likely to need replacing soon in it (in general for a model of this age/mileage)  cheers!
  7. Hi all. Having finally purchased a 'decent' car, it's about time I found some knowledge on how to clean it properly, and keep it in pristine condition. I've been driving a 2003 Fiesta Ghia around for the past three years so all the knowledge I have of car cleaning is a bottle of turtle wax shampoo, a bucket and a sponge. I'm after a step by step guide on products and technique. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks :)

  11. I recently brought an 09 "Zetec S" second hand from Evans Halshaw Ford and it has the rear parking sensors, and sports spoiler but I passed a 58 plate "Zetec" and the steering wheel inside looked exactly the same as MY "sports" steering wheel and so did the seats they looked the exact same as my "sports" seats, then I looked further at the Zetec I passed, noticing it didn't have the sport spoiler or the same alloys, and it wasn't marked as the S model.   Why does my car lack the proper badges and do i actually have a sports wheel and sports seats? Do I even have the so called sports suspension does it even carry the 120bhp it has on paper?
  12. Hi Guys this is my first post to the forum so hi!! I've just today installed a towbar on my 2003 focus and was wondering where the best place to route the wiring is i.e. a hole in the underside or something? I haven't even started to wire in the towbar but have a haynes manual for the wiring diagram and was wondering what your thoughts are? Also is it best to tap into the loom behind the carpet on the left side of the boot? Thanks Jim
  13. Randomly parked up in St Andrew's Quay car park in 'ull on Sunday .... completed a full set Zetec's and ST's Excuse the wonky (temporary) parking ... the fruity coloured ST wasn't lined up too well ...  or maybe (and more likely) the lines on the car park aren't straight ...
  14. Hi there just wondering if anyone can help me by showing the location of the "air box resonator" on my Fiesta 2011 1.25L Zetec ive had a small look to try and fine it but I thought it'd be best to ask some more knowledgable folk, if anyone could help tell me the location of the resonator it would be greatly appreciated, photos especially!  Many thanks, Luke
  15. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some advice on this product sold by puma speed? http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Fiesta-ST-150-Stoffler-Rear-Valance-twin-hole_527.jsp Do I need to cut my original rear valance?(The standard one that comes on a 57 plate fiesta zetec s) Was wondering what actually come with this product also, is it a whole new rear valance or is it the fins and the top half that stick on over the existing one?   Any help would be largely apreciated.   Samuel.G.Harris Burgerm4n
  16. Hi...I've just bought a lovely white 2009 Focus Zetec S. I love everything about the car except the exhaust just sounds monstrous...I mean it's over the top ridiculously loud! Is there any way to go about making this quieter i.e. would an exhaust specialist be able to change it or will I have to opt for a new exhaust altogether. I've attached pictures of the underside to show as best I could how it's put together....it branches off into twin pipes that have twin muffler tips on them. Thanks! Also...everything needs a good clean i know!! :o) Athique
  17. Hi all!  I'm new to this, so bare with me haha. I got my 13 plate Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 100ps, in October last year. It is amazing! Feels like driving a Bentley compared to the Peugeot 107 I had before.  But... When accelerating hard, the power does not seem there almost at times.  The suspension creaks awfully over speed bumps-Something that has got worse. When I first bought the car, the steering felt really precise, but it seems to have a bit more play in it now, also it does understeer quite bad. And finally, The Ford sync, does not show me who sent me the text, it just says unknown. I have a HTC One M7, with the updated software. If anyone can help with either one of these questions, it will be greatly appreciated!! Cheers, Josh.
  18. Hello all, Been wanting to upgrade my exhaust for a while. Surprisingly, the most reasonably priced Catback system for the Mk7 1.6 ZS seems to be the Mountune one. £325 on their official site.   Has anyone got any experience with this system? I know it's the Miltek one branded with Mountune etching on the tips so I guess anyone with the Miltek could give an opinion too?   Cheers!
  19. Hi All, I have been looking around the internet reading up on the ecoboost engine trying to get an idea what could be possible with the 3 pot beauty. I am just looking to see if any one is planning on doing anything to their engine at all? if so what you will be going for.... Any one have any ideas on what would be a good starting point on finding a bit more grunt from the engine. My friend had a subaru impreza and i remember him fitting a boot control valve to increase his boost pressure, would such things be possible with out ecoboost engine? Any one with ideas please post :)
  20. hi guys, does anyone know if it's a good idea to fit an omex to my fiesta zetec s 1.6 petrol's standard exhaust? from what I've read it can destroy your catalytic converter, but surely thats only if you launch control 24/7, as there are lots of cars which come with launch control and still have a cat?  cheers
  21. hi I have just bought the a new 65 plate zetec s with the 138 bhp engine I was wondering what's the best modification to pull a little more out of the car power wise   Thanks, jack
  22. Hi All, I have traded in my old fiesta zetec s for a focus zetec s but the 182hp version in midnight sky. I am looking at the K&N air filter kit but I was also tempted by the green cotton filter one also so any advice on which to choose there is appreciated. I am also tempted, to try a conversion for the front end. I wondered if it was possible for me to just buy a white ST front bumper and the grills etc and spray it midnight sky. Would I also need new lights, or would it not fit at all. I thought I would ask the question if it were even possible! Thanks all
  23. Mk6 Spoiler Swap
