Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi gang, I recently went about replacing my stock front speakers in my MK2 (Pre-facelift) as they had both blown, with great success: Finally Have Working Speakers! I then decided to see what was happening in the rear (I know what you're thinking), and discovered that there were no speakers or wiring. Off I go to Halfords and pick up some lovely FLI 5x7 Coaxial speakers, bulb connectors, blade connectors and 8m of speaker cable. Several hours later and everything is sorted, all speakers working perfectly, and as far as I was concerned, wired and connected up "perfectly", happy chappy. So today I head off to work and after about 25 minutes all sound cuts out, when I park up, only the right front speaker was working and it sounded like a whisper at max volume. After work I checked the fuse, which was undamaged, hopped back in the car, plugged in the radio code and hey presto! Everything was working fine again! But pride comes before a fall, as after 20 minutes down the road, everything bar that right front speaker was out cold like Jose Aldo. I've run a few checks over the head unit and wires with a multi-meter, but I'm no pro, so I have no idea what I'm looking for. Has anyone had this issue before? Or any suggestions for how to fix it? Thanks in advance, Sam
  2. Hi i recently discovered i had no compression on cylinder 2 of my mk2 2005 focus. I have just finished removing the head to investigate the problem. I have found a chunk missing out of one of the valves, but cannot see where the piece of valve has gone. Should this be of concern and warrant further investigation or could it have just sent it into the exhaust? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Hi i am just starting the process of removing the cylinder head on my 1.6 petrol mk2 focus. The haynes manual says you have to remove the front sub frame. i would be grateful for any advise as to if this is true. Or ang other tips in that area if possible. Thanks
  4. Hi all. After I try to replace my glogplugs, the head of one of the plug would not come out. So try I drilled it out, but can't get the pices up by the injector hole. Im now decide to remote the head and fix it. Does anyone know a guide to remote the head on the 1.6 TDCI (PSA) engine ? Thanks :) (Hobe my english is OK)
  5. water on engine head

my dealer claims my december 2007 1.6 16v focus never had an engine bay plastic cover and, could one fit 1.8/2.0 c-max cover since it has three places for nuts7bolts and oil cap opening?
  6. Right I've just bought a SUB for my fiesta it's a FLI Trap single sub 1200watts i was wondering if it would wire into my head unit or will i have to buy a new head unit from halfords? Also where can i get Mk7 radio pullers from so i can remove my head unit. Cheers Ben_140

  8. Hi all, I'm new to this I was wondering if I was going mad after replacing the ford cd 6000 stereo in my 2002 focus 1.8tdci only to have the airbag light come on??? Is there any way for this to happen as I wouldn't have thought the airbag would have anything to do with the car stereo loom, Is it a case of buying a new module and just fitting it, had it on a diagnostic scanner and the guy said that the problem was airbag module not turned on???? Btw I cannot find how to search forum topics so I'm not sure if this has been posted before, Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks
  9. Chewed Screw Head

The screw that holds the cover of my cabin filter housing has had the head chewed up pretty bad and I can't unscrew it to change the cabin filter. Any suggestions on how I can get it off/out?
  10. I've just signed up on here so this is my first post. I have a Mk6.5 fiesta and I want a new sound system in it just to make cruising around all the more fun. Anyone got any suggestions of good speakers or subs that I could look into. I was more going towards Kenwood as I already have an idea of the head unit that I want to get (Kenwood DPX-504u) although any suggestions would be appreciated. Not looking at doing any major changes to the car, just the small things that make it nicer to drive. Want to get this sound system upgraded first off and then I might look into making the interior nice so any suggestions of decent mods to make the small details nicer would also be appreciated. Thanks
  11. Hello All, My Sister has just blown the head gasket on her 2005 Fiesta....basically had a water leak and it ran dry and then the head gasket blew! The garage its at now reckons its a new engine job as water has got into the engine. They are quoting £2.5K to fix. The car is only worth £3K! Can anyone offer any advice? What are the chances that it needs a new engine? Is £2.5K a realistic price for new engine? Does anyone know of anyone in the bristol area they can supply / fit 2nd hand engines and if so what would be the rough cost estimate? Would it be a better idea just to sell the car as scrap / spares? if so how much would you get for it? Thanks, any help would be most apprechiated. Cheers Dave
