Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Ford Fiesta ST Interior

I just got an ST. I choose it over the Polo GTI because its generally more fun to drive however, the interior and the equipment in the GTI excited me more. I knew that when I bought the ST so I'm not complaining I'm just wondering if anyone could show me some images of 3rd party headunits, perhaps like the US version which has a much better headunit. Thanks in advance.
  2. Newbie seeking serious help!

Hi Guys, Brand new to the forum so please be patient with me if I am being dumb here! I've got a Focus Titanium X Mk3.5 with Sync 2 system, which I really love, but the only thing letting it down is the audio quality! Can anyone tell me how easy it would be to fit new speakers and add a sub to the vehicle? At the minute I am just trying to find out if it can be done by myself, or if it's something I need to take to a professional. I have a budget of £500 but I really want to get some decent kit for my money, if I have to pay for someone to fit it I don't mind but I don't want to be left with no money to buy my kit! Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance Daniel
  3. Aftermarket Headunits?

Hi dont know if there is a thread on here about this but i want to change my head unit. Has anybody fitted one and got any pictures of it. ideally looking for a double din touch screen but haven't looked in depth as such just had a quick look. i will most likly replace the speakers afterwards depending on the amp in the headunit. Thanks in advance Mitch
  4. Hi gang, I recently went about replacing my stock front speakers in my MK2 (Pre-facelift) as they had both blown, with great success: Finally Have Working Speakers! I then decided to see what was happening in the rear (I know what you're thinking), and discovered that there were no speakers or wiring. Off I go to Halfords and pick up some lovely FLI 5x7 Coaxial speakers, bulb connectors, blade connectors and 8m of speaker cable. Several hours later and everything is sorted, all speakers working perfectly, and as far as I was concerned, wired and connected up "perfectly", happy chappy. So today I head off to work and after about 25 minutes all sound cuts out, when I park up, only the right front speaker was working and it sounded like a whisper at max volume. After work I checked the fuse, which was undamaged, hopped back in the car, plugged in the radio code and hey presto! Everything was working fine again! But pride comes before a fall, as after 20 minutes down the road, everything bar that right front speaker was out cold like Jose Aldo. I've run a few checks over the head unit and wires with a multi-meter, but I'm no pro, so I have no idea what I'm looking for. Has anyone had this issue before? Or any suggestions for how to fix it? Thanks in advance, Sam
  5. Hello all, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I own a 2003 MK6 Fiesta Zetec which I fitted a Parrot MK1900i bluetooth system to the car. I use the bluetooth system for all my calls and for playing my audio making my Ford 4500 radio completely redundant. Anyway, i want to upgrade my stock speakers however i've been advised that in doing so i will have to upgrade my head unit. I'd rather not do this because it wouldn't get used and would overall be a waste of money. I was wondering whether theres a way i can upgrade the speakers and possibly install a subwoofer without changing the stock radio? Any help would be appreciated, thanks smokecal
  6. Hi, I got an '07 Ford Fiesta Zetec with the 6000CD. I have bought an pioneer SPH-DA120 head unit along with fascia, adapters, etc. But how can I pass my iPhone USB cable from the rear of the head unit around to the front. Also the headunit comes with a wired Mic which I would like to have on the drivers side of the dash. And a GPS antenna needs to go on the top of the dashboard to work 'properly'. Basically, how can I get all these wires out from behind the headunit? Thanks
  7. Hi all I'm looking for a little guidance with my head unit. I bought it last year and fitted it to a ford focus 05 plate and all went well but then was forced to sell, but kept the head unit. problem is it doesn't fit into the new focus which is a 2000. could somebody please help with how to fit it , and what accessories/fittings i need the unit is ... jvc kw-xr611 Cheers guys Dan
  8. Hi Ford Owners Club I've recently upgraded my sound system in my 2005 Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 CDTI. After replacing the triple stack with an after market head unit, I've connected an old sub I had. All went is sweet & works well. Now here is the problem... When I accelerate or drive the sub seem's to cut out. The only thing I can think of that maybe effecting it, was the automatic volume control? I was wondering if there was a way to maybe cut/disconnect a wire feeding into the Head Unit that would stop this? Or if anyone else has experienced this, how did you solve it? I'm really scratching my head on this one. Thanks Crew!!
  9. Hey! A couple days ago I got a Fiesta Zetec '08 Special Blue Edition, and I can honestly say I love it, absolutely fantastic car! So many nice little features that you wouldn't even think about when purchasing it but genuinely do make the car that much more enjoyable to be in. Small side note, am I right in saying this is a mk6.5 Fiesta? (58 plate but not new style) So, onto the topic in question; the headunit. About a month ago I bought an Alpine CDE-123R headunit which I plan on fitting into the car. The car currently has the stock Sony headunit fitted and I want to know what kind of cables/adapters/fascia I need to acquire to fit my Alpine headunit. The current headunit in the car... Note; not my picture. I want to be able to connect my iPhone 5 via USB and use it to play music, not interested in the whole bluetooth/handsfree in car calls. I already know, or believe I need to get a set of removal key tools. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-Focus-C-Max-Mondeo-Fiesta-CD-Radio-Stereo-Removal-Keys-Pins-6000-6006-CDC-/250904481702?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a6b128fa6 However after this stage I'm kind of stuck, well I reckon I could work it out as I go along but I have no clue what other parts I will need. I think I'm going to need some form of adapter as the Alpine headunit has a different shaped cable block at the back. Also will I be able to use volume changer on the steering wheel? Any help would be very much appreciated, and I once I have it all figured out I do plan on making a guide for this model Fiesta as there doesn't seem to be any out there (well none that I could find).
