Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi all, I have just joined up for some advice for my partner. He currently owns a Escort Mk5 Rs2000 we have been looking online for a wiring diagram for the AC Heaters and not been very successful. The Heaters have stopped blowing and with the cold weather the car is starting to get damp :-( All advice welcome Thank you in advance Shani
  2. Hi guys, I've not long brought my 2002 focus 3 dr. just ironing out a few problems with it. one being the interior heaters. they dont work on setting 1, 2, 3 or 4. nothing at all. I've checked all the fuses, they're fine. I've replaced the heater resistor behind the glove box, still nothing. What else could it be? Also, how do I adjust the revs? They're sitting slightly to low, the car vibrates a little too much for me when idling. If i put a tiny bit of gas on and i do mean a tiny bit, it fine. and finally (so far anyway) the drivers door speaker is quiet, work but quiet. i think they've been upgraded at some point in their life. I know its no wiring issue behind the head unit as i changed that myself. to save me looking myself, how do i change a bulb in the rear light cluster? at a glance i cant see any clips to take the back cover off, I'm most probably being blind though! Thanks for any help guys!
  3. Hi guys, I purchased my first focus today, a 2002 3dr 1.6. the heaters inside the car do not work on 1,2,3 or 4. i checked the fuse, that is fine. what else could it be?Also, the previous owner has put a after market head unit in the car, made a mess of the wiring. does anyone has a diagram of the wiring or does anyone know what color goes to the drivers door speaker as that's the only one that doesn't work. There's an air bag light on! The car came with 12 months MOT. What can i do to turn the light off as i don't like lights on my dash. Silly question now but i can't for the life of me find the switch to turn my fog lights on, where is it? Thanks guys! Jordan.

  5. Streetka Problems

I bought a 04 plate streetka last month , firstly the heaters don't work at all but when the engine is fully warm you can feel a little bit off warm air coming from the vents and that happends no matter if the heaters are switched on or off , secondly the water / coolant likes to disappear . There's no wet patches under car so really don't understand where it's going . I need to fill it up everyday with water it's not overheating and it's running find but these two problems are really confusing as a lot off garages are all saying different things .
  6. Hi everyone. I guess this may have been answered before but I'm new. So I apologise in advance. This problem I have with my 2002, 1.3 ka is driving me insane. I was driving a few weeks ago for around 20 miles and not once did the heater blow hot it was always cold. So my boyfriend suggested I check my coolant. Which I did and found that it was empty. I topped up and all was good again. About a week later I was driving along to work about 4 miles and there was steam coming from under the bonnet. No temp warning light came on, but the car was very juddery, so I pulled over and the coolant cap was off with no coolant in, strange. I had to go to work so left it and refilled when I got home. Every day since then, about two weeks now, I am loosing coolant daily. I'll top up in the morning and by night it's all gone! I noticed today however my passenger footwell is soaking and if I press down, puddles begin to form. I removed the carpet slightly and it is really wet underneath. I was worried it may be my head gasket but have checked oil and all seems ok. Myself and my boyfriend are at the end of our tethers with this car atm as we can't figure out where the coolant is going and where exactly it is leaking from, if it is coolant in the footwell that is ( doesn't smell like it ) Please can someone give me an indication of where to look and what to do? Do you guys think my coolant is eventually ending up on my footwell carpet? Or is that yet another unrelated problem? Thanks, Kat.
  7. Hi, I bought my 2000 reg ford fiesta 4 days ago now. The heaters are stuck on hot. I have replaced the heating control valve and i got a replacement control panel thats in the car, that you use to control the heating system. I replaced them both today and i still have the same problem. I have also cleaned the contacts up on the plugs, incase anything had got inside them. i dont have air conditioning. Its a simple hot/cold system Also the previous owner had decided to cut the wire to the heater control valve (hcv) and connect the power source up to the battery, this made the blowers cold ( i assume they did this so they didnt bake). I had taken it to my mechanic and he said it may have caused a fire as the hcv would of had two much power going to it. He connected back up to the original wires, and this made the blowers blow hot. He said either part would need replacing so i replaced both. those being the hcv and the control pannel. PLEASE HELP :-(
