      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi guys, I own a mk6 and since I've owned it the indicators would flash to show the car has been deadlocked when pressing the button twice on the key fob. For a couple of days now I've noticed it hasn't been doing so. Both doors are shut and it is deadlocking as I've tried locking myself in and opening the door from the inside. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? Thanks in advance
  2. Hi all. Hoping someone may be able to help with an indication issue on my 07 KA. 90% of the time it works perfectly fine but for the other 10% of the time it either stops working completely or works much slower than usual. Took it to a garage they quoted £300. 😐 obviously I'll get a second opinion on that !!! Hoping someone may have a remedy!! thanks In advance.
  3. De-tangoing

    I have a mk6.5 (56) fiesta and I bought some osram py21w bulbs to change out my old front indicator. They are a 581 but the fitting is (12 o'clock/7o'clock) and I needed (12o'clock/6o'clock). I'm going to buy some p21w 382 bulbs and just want to be sure I'm not doing something stupid replacing 581 with 382. Note: I have removed the plastic cover (tango) already and can't put it back. I forgot to try the bulb first (I know idiot).
  4. Hi, i'm wondering if anyone is able to help. the complete passenger side indicators aren't working it clicks once and then nothing. all the other lights and drivers side work ok.

I have the same problem but my central locking stops working completely and this only happens on very cold days when it's cold enough for the windscreen to freeze over and the problem usually goes away after 20 mins of motorway driving with the heater all the way up, any suggestions would be much appreciated, checked the connectors under the glove compartment they are not loose, i have also taken them all out and given them a good blast of electrical contact cleaner same with the connectors and relays under the bonnet and the binnacle itself as well but the problem still persists.
  6. No indicator sound!

    This is doing my nut in now, does anyone know where the relay for the indicators and hazard switch are? Nothing in the manual about it... The noise has stopped working for when they are in use does anyone know how to fix this? Mk1 Ford Focus.
  7. Flasher Unit

    Guidance please. Fiesta 1.3 2000 model. Indicators & hazards stopped working. I checked the fuses, O.K. So bought & replaced the flasher unit on the steering column and made no difference. Am I missing something? I had assumed that it could only be one of these two things?

    indicators won`t cancel, & while this in itself isnt a particular point of concern for me i was wondering if this is something my focus could fail its MOT on ??? ...
  9. My indicators aren't working. They make a horrible grinding noise when I click right and left. It's not the bulbs because when the indicators rarely work the bulbs are fine. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks,

Ive just had a garage "fix" this problem that lasted a week before it returned They said they replaced the relay behind the steering column which they said was very awkward to access because it was right up behind the dash I found a 2amp glass fuse left on the passenger footwell and im wondering if this points to something else that was actually done instead of changing the relay which would mean ive been ripped off I wondered if i should attempt to remove the relay myself and confirm with ford if its the original or aftermarket as ive had the car from new and i know this has never been replaced before The loss of indicators and heating is a total failure usually after the engine has been off for a while and returns with no warning or with me aggrevating it by turning the heater blower on between 1-4 speed or moving the indicator stalk up and down My hazard lights work and the indicator lights work on the dash despite the actual indicator stalk not working The 2 problems are directly linked and fail at the same time every time as i have tested this theory by leaving the indicator stalk up or down and the heater blower on a speed of 1-4 and they both magically come back on at random points I have also noticed a loss of heat that started to happen a few days ago and was noticable before it went into the garage I hope this is enough of a description and im keen to hear your thoughts especially about whether you think the relay the garage supposedly changed has any bearing on the original problem and especially how an indicator relay can be anything to do with the heater blower? Prior to this problem the garage said they fixed a coolant leak by changing the water pump, theromostat housing and another major part which all resulted in a bill of £410.00
  11. I've recently purchased a Fiesta Titanium 58 plate and ever since i've had the warning light has been flashing up saying that my boot is open when it is securely closed. Also when my car is locked the car alarm constantly goes off, i've also noticed my indicators are not cancelling when i turn. Im going to take it back to the dealership tomorrow, but i just wanted to find out if anyone else has been having these problems and if they had been resolved. I just dont know if its a common fault? Any feedback will be appreciated :)
  12. Legalities Of Led's

    Hello all, I have changed every single interior bulb in my fiesta zetec to LED's, which is great. However i was wondering the legal side of any exterior lights? Do the numberplate lights have to be white? can i have LED sidelights? Indicators? Brake lights? And are they even worth changing? Cheers, Olly
