Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Morning, Bit baffled so hope someone can help. From last night I noticed that there is a light tapping / knocking from the accelerator pedal at higher speeds. Steering is nice and smooth, no knocking or shaking so I'm guessing this has to be engine related? Engine is smooth, can't hear anything out of the ordinary and performance is also unaffected. 59 Plate, 2.0 TDCI Kuga. Thanks, Jay
  2. Attempting to find a replacement alloy wheel for a 2017 Ford Kuga Titanium 1.5 TDCI Hi all, I recently had a minor accident thanks to a patch of spilled diesel on the road and hit a high kerb with the front nearside alloy. The damage to the alloy is pretty bad and the tire is bulged, both of which need to go down the scrapyard. I'm having some real difficulty in finding a replacement alloy wheel - I have 17 inch 5-spoke doubles which are different to any that I can find online, even those on the official ford-accessories website. I've attached a photo of my alloys for reference. When compared to the ones on the Ford spares site, you can see that they are different (rim around the badge, shape of the traingular segments etc). I'm at a loose end now and am wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up a matching alloy please? I'm having to drive around on the spare space saver at the moment and really need a replacement. The dealership are being as useful as ***** on a fish too, so if anyone has any help or advice, that would be great. Thanks in advance. MarkNeen.
  3. I'm getting new wheels for my focus mk2, also dropping it 30mm on eibach pro kit springs. Have a few wheel options in mind including 18 inch 2016 rs rep wheels, 2016 18'' st reps and genuine ford kuga wheels. Has anyone any pictures of a focus mk2 with 19 inch kuga Wheels? I'll attach pic below. Thanks
  4. JOHN LORD

Hi I live in Churchdown Glos. I have recently purchased a 2015 Kuga 2.0 tdi my first and only(till now) Ford was a 1938 Model "Y"
  5. Learn to Solder

So how do i start this other than saying, being in this industry for so many years i have seen the brilliant to the extreme cowboy.Check my wheels tv will be providing video tutorials starting at the basics ranging up to the high voltage,Which is where the world is heading towards, we would of all heard about the 2040 big news and how not one combustion engine will be produced in the u.k and most likely europe for that matter. I belive we need to raise the awarness of how important, 1. Auto electrics are in todays world and 2. How important it is in tommorows world. I would like to know everybodies thoughts on this topics as well, not of the learning topic but more of the 2040. What type of business are you in and the effects of this new law. If there is enough interest in this then i will be making a topic of discussion just for this reason. please memember to subscribe to the youtube channel if you would like to learn and future videos thanks.
  6. Morning, Looking for some advice please. I have a 62 plate Ford Kuga which I have had for 18 months & up to now no issues. Over the last week I have noticed that the passenger door behind the driver is permanently locked & won't open from the inside manually or when unlocking the car with the remote keys. Can anyone please advise / suggest what needs to be done or is it a trip to the garage? Thanks
  7. Ford kuga headunit removal

Hi all Does anyone know how to remove this head unit from the my ford kuga 2011 It's the one with sat nav Here's a picture of the unit
  8. I am about to get a new Kuga and my brother (who works for ford) says there is an annoying bug when you are using CarPlay in that if selecting navigation it will always take you to the CarPlay maps instead of the sync3 built in sat nav. Does anyone else else have experience of this? if so, does it mean you have to unplug your phone to stop CarPlay and use the built in navigation?
  9. I have a 2016 Titanium x 2 litre diesel AWD high output engine with a powershift 6 speed box. I get 42.5 mpg on a run and 36 mpg locally, climate on all the time with AC - would love to know what other people are getting in their Kugas - Thank you
  10. Ford Kuga Full Beam Issue

I have a 3 month old Ford Kuga 2016 - Titanium x - I have xenon head lights with self-levelling. Before I start this I must make it clear that the xenon part of the light works fine and so does the self-levelling. Now, when I put the full/main beam on the second "standard" bulb which is on the inside of the light is clearly wrongly aligned. The OSF / driver's side is clearly point down, onto the road, so the full beam lights are wonky. Ford main dealer says this height can not be adjusted and it does correctly go up and down with the self-levelling, but the drivers side is always still pointing a lot lower down. Its is so bad the most of the pattern from the light is completely on the road about 25 feet in front of the vehicle. Now is this the same on all Kuga's with Xenon headlights, or can the full beam height be adjusted in relation to the dip xenon beam. Help please - This is not related to the yellow adjustment on top of the light !
  11. Evening all, I'm a new member on here but have been a member on escort OC, Mondeo enthusiast group - remember them! And more recently the fiesta OC and Kuga OC. So I've had a few fords and my most recent is a Kuga MY15.25 which we collected just before Xmas, we also have mk6 fiesta and an A6 Audi avant. I'm joining up for all the useful info I might find (or need). I'm based in Crawley, West Sussex!
  12. Hello one and all. I am having a small problem with the build-in sat nav on my Kuga and I'm hoping there is someone here that can help. I recently bought a second-hand Kuga from 2014. It comes with built-in sat-nav using a Sony system. For some reason, when trying to enter a destination it will only allow me to enter the postcode and not the district. I have tried re-setting the unit in the hope this might clear any stored programmes from the car's previous owner, but to no avail. I am hoping you can offer a solution to this problem, as sometimes I don't know the postcode of where I am going (sometimes, I just like going for a drive to somewhere nonspecific but would like to go to a particular county). Can anyone offer any advice on how to solve this issue? Thanks.
  13. Hello All

Hi All, Just saying Hi as a new member. I've not had a Ford for many years but got myself a Kuga last year and thought I'd better join up and say hi. Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCI Titanium X 2012 (Facelift) Powershift.
  14. I have bought a ford kuga 2014 from a franchise dealer and want to know it I can get the park assist added even though the vehicle has had one other owner already
  15. Hi have recently purchased a 1 year old for kuga, for the 2nd time in about 6 weeks the information display (radio, time, parking assist etc) has gone off. I have checked the fuse and that's ok. it does beep when I am parking but the display along with the radio is not working.... any ideas?? thanks
  16. I have a problem with my newly bought 2008 Kuga 2.0 TDCI. I have an "engine malfunction" which is the dpf. I am hoping I don`t have to buy a new dpf (expensive). Now the engine won`t run more than about 3800rpm-meaning it doesn`t get warm eough for it to regenerate. I found this as a solution: http://www.wurth.co.uk/technical-chemicals/cleaning-and-care-materials/special-chemical-cleaners/dpf-cleaner-400ml Does anyone have any experience with this? And (fixing for dummies); where is the DPF sensor located (for removal and injecting the dpf cleaner)? (pictures/links will be highly appreciated) Sincerley Allan Henriksen
  17. Eml Light

Hi all An amber EML appeared on our 2010 Kuga the other day. Unfortunately as it was over Christmas there was nowhere I could take it (I live in the Isle of Man). Took it out yesterday and now it has gone into limp mode and unable to drive it really. Went to our local Ford garage today (who are in the process of moving premises so aren't fully "operational" yet), and they say it is more than likely going to be a DPF fault. This is apparently common in the Isle of Man due to being unable to drive at certain speed/revs/distance to allow the DPF to clear itself - or something like that. The guy at Ford said bring it back tomorrow and he will try a "regen". My question is, does it have to be a Ford dealer that can do this, or can any garage with some OBD kit do it? Also, is there a way of getting it to start a regen itself? Could I disconnect the battery in the hope this will reset the alarm, and then I can try and drive it hard to clean it? Finally....could it be expensive? :-( Thanks Robin
