Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. HELP BUYING 2006 1.8D Focus

Hi everyone, just signed up to the forum so I'm sorry if i break any rules with this post. I wanted to ask the help of you ford enthusiasts I want to buy a Ford focus 2006 1.8 (1753cc) Diesel Manual 5 door hatchback Its got 12 months MOT and cosmetically looks good, only thing is that it has 160,000 miles on the clock What do i need to make sure has been replaced in a car this old, and roughly how long ago? Like turbo, cambelt ect... Many thanks for any help everyone! Alex
  2. I am filling up my tank fully and I am only getting approx 100 miles out of it. I know this isn't right. But I don't know how to get it sorted without costing me lots of money.
  3. Just replaced the unit on my Fiesta MK6 but found the mileage is from the previous vehicle. Any software available to increase the mileage?
  4. Hello Folks, I purchased a 2015(65) 1.25(82) Fiesta back in December 2015 and I'm just wondering how many miles it would take for the car to break in to allow optimal power delivery / fuel economy? Before I purchased it, I previously drove a 2014(14) version of the exact same car but to Euro 5 emissions rather than Euro 6 emissions by looking at the VIN check. When I handed that car over to my Mam, it had just over 7k on the clock and was starting to break in. I had a shot of it very recently with over 8k on the clock (just to park it up down the street) and compared to mine, it went like s**t of a shovel and the power delivery in 1st and 2nd gear seemed to be a lot more rapid and punchy. Also started smoothly from a cold start. Do you think my car (the 65 plate) will need a longer break in period or do you think that the Euro 6 emissions will hinder the economy / power output compared to the Euro 5 with particular regards to gear ratios etc? Do the naturally aspirated Duratec engines take longer to break in than a more contemporary engine? I know I should've parted with the extra £1500 quid for an Ecoboost but can't make any major purchases yet or get rid for various reasons. Just for the record, my car (the 65 plate) has just under 3k on the clock. Cheers D
  5. Hi all, First post, apologise in advance. I've a 2012 Mk7 Fiesta, Zetec, and I noticed a few weeks ago that when I filled up the car (full tank), the estimated mileage on the car had changed. It had gone from the usual 315+ miles (when I purchased back in July), which lasted for a few months, to around 275+ miles on the clock. Is there anything in particular, other than driving manner, that could cause this? As I've only had the car a few months and 40 mile drop is a bit weird.
  6. One Of The Lowest Mileage Mk2's?

My grandparents have a 2006 MK2 Zetec 1.6 Petrol Automatic as their daily driver. (When my Grandpa's Supercharged Jaguar S Type is not being used) I noticed today that it's only covered 32,000 miles since new! Surely that's one of the lowest mileage MK2s out there? Anyone have one/seen one with lower miles?
  7. Hi, new to the forum. My wife recently purchased a Fiesta 1.0 eco boost titanium model. The expected range of a full tank is according to the ford website around 600 miles, however the range displayed on our car is roughly 275 on a full tank and that is what we are getting before we have to fill up again It is mainly used for local driving, she drives carefully and even uses the stop start function. The full tank still costs the same amount of around £50, so it's not the tank size. Mileage on 4/1/2015 was 27441 when I filled up - range States 271 miles to 0 mileage on 7/1/2015 was 27701 before I filled up - range States 273 to 0 So we only got 260 miles between fill ups. Does anyone have any ideas .
  8. Hi All. We've been on a bit of a run between Huddersfield, Sheffield & around these areas. I have uploaded these pictures to show the results of fuel consumption. A few notes; I wasn't trying to achieve anything, just driving with traffic. There was no harsh driving, I didn't hang around either, overtaking several times under the correct conditions. I was wondering if (anything), people thought of these numbers. The fuel used was Texaco ordinary diesel, with a 1% Millers Ecomax additive. Cheers, Martin .
  9. Hi there everyone! this is my first post, so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place! I have a fiesta mk4, 1998 with 95000 miles on! it is going to be my first car and i have done quite alot to it, and what I couldn't do myself it has had done! I want to take pride in so of course want to show off the miles, when it gets to 100k it will start again from zero so what I was looking to do is put in clocks from a mk5, how easy would this be to do? I've included pics of my current clocks and also the clocks i want to put in! Thanks in advance for any help! if you require any more information please let me know! Thank you :D
