Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI engine 2016 that will not run properly until it has fully warmed up to 80° C. The engine starts OK so that would indicate it is not the glow plugs, if I try and take the engine RPM to say 2500 and hold it in that position when the car is stationary, after a few seconds the engine splutters. Sometimes the engine speed increases momentarily then dies altogether and comes back again then dies comes back, sometimes it just cuts out altogether, it is impossible to drive as the car has no power. It will run OK ticking over. Once the engine has warmed up, everything seems fine and the car drives normally. At the moment before any journey I have to warm the engine up for 10 minutes so I can drive, is not just annoying for me and the neighbours. Things I’ve tried so far- 1) Coupled up to an OBDII Reader and no fault codes are showing, when I looked at a graph of the fuel rail pressure when the engine blips and judders there is a momentary spike in the fuel pressure reading and it seems to rise and then fall rapidly. 2) Replaced the FUEL PUMP REGULATOR METERING VALVE – no difference 3) Replaced the fuel filter – no difference 4) Thought it could be the EGR valve sticking, so I banked it off, - this has not fixed the problem but the card does seem to have more power when it is warmed up. 5) Fitted A few all nine primer bulb in an effort to ensure no bubbles were in the fuel line – this is still not fixed the problem. Has anyone any ideas what part of the car could be causing this temperature related behaviour. Could it be the fuel rail sensor that is faulty. Thanks for any help
  2. Hi everyone, I am hoping someone can help... I normally have the radio info displayed on my dash, so it obviously displays track information, station names etc. I had a CD in the tonight which was on Track 1 when I pressed eject. The radio came on, but my dash still said 'Track 1'. I turned the radio off and it stayed displaying 'Track 1'. I turned the car off and back on again and now it doesn't show anything on the dash screen in regards to the radio. I have turned the setting off and on again for displaying radio information, so I am a little confused at the problem. Any help would be great! Thanks, Tom
  3. Hi all New Mk7 Fiesta Titanium 1.4 auto owner here. 2012 model, 3months old, picked it up yesterday. Looking into the boot from the rear seat area (after folding them down) I noticed that under the tailgate lip (to the boot floor - and the width of the tailgate) there is no trim covering the paint work underneath. I can even see some sealant or something with that appearence that just looks like it should not be on show. Perhaps Ford didn't bother because you can't see it when you look into the boot from the back of the car. I was wondering if any other Titanium owner's, or even any Mk7 Fiesta owner could look in the boot and see if their's is the same? Many thanks T
