      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. 1st post, I'm hoping someone might be able to help. I've got a '56 plate Focus MK2 and it's leaking oil. I've circled the bit that it's dripping from, but I can't really ID where the leak is. Any ideas?

    I'm hoping someone might be able to help. I've got a '56 plate Focus MK2 and it's leaking oil - quite a slow drip. I've circled the bit that it's dripping from, but I can't really ID where the leak is. Any ideas? I don't see any corrosion or holes in the bit it's dripping from, it looks as though the oil is leaking from higher up.
  3. Refitting a Vacuum Pump

    Focus diesel mk1. For the DIYers out there, does anyone know about installing a vacuum pump? When I took it off it kind of sprung off, but on refitting the shaft that protrudes from the engine block requires force placed on the vacuum pump to reinstall. Do I force it back on, or is there a trick I am missing? Is this pushed out by the cams? seems difficult to align the shaft with the diaphragm centre. Thanks. Al
  4. Hi, I'm hoping someone can offer some advice. I have a problem with a oil leak which I believe is coming from one of my turbo pipes.. However before I start to investigate where its coming from I'm was hoping to wash all the oil off the pipes and engine. Is this possible? i.e. Will it damage anything if I use a hose to try and wash the engine and pipes under the bonnet. Was thinking probably best to disconnect and remove the battery first, rather than just leaving the battery lid on. Can anyone offer any advice concerning this? Cheers

  6. Diesel leak

    Hi, Can anyone help with an oil leak? My 07 Fiesta 1.4 tdci has just developed an oil leak at the black pipe that goes into the passenger side of the turbo (see attached) it has just been a couple of drips since yesterday. I have tried tightening the hose clip with a screwdriver but it seems really tight already. Thanks in advance.

    Hi can anyone identify the part that is slightly seeping in the pictures below. It is under the (dirty) coolant reservoir. Can anyone explain gunk in reservoir? Thanks
  8. Front End Oil Leak Help!!!

    Hi all I have just purchased my second Sierra which has a carbed 8V DOHC, but it is leaking a lot of oil from the front somewhere, the car is stuck 5 hours away at my parents house, what is the most likely culprit...the crank seal or the oil pump or??? Also can anyone helps me out with a cam chain kit as they are hard to get in New Zealand :/ or any help with a whole bunch of front seals would be awesome :)
  9. it's diesel fiesta 1.4 tdci , It has had a few minor problems since we bought it 2 months ago the car as been in to 2 garages and none have picked the oil leak apart from the oil leak it has a hissing coming from the fuel lines that is going to be replaced under warranty .i contacted fords about this oil leak and they are going to look at it when they do the fuel lines ,i am oblivious to why it’s not been picked up on the heath checks and the engine mounting are also causing a problem the car is low mileage the car place we bought it from is well known they should have done a 114 point check on the car before we had it so it was missed there to .take a look at the pictures and post your options this is a car valued at £7499 what would do if this was your car . a friend thinks it may be the crank seal or the sump seal if you look at the pictures there is stress cracks in the engine its self look at the arrows .

Hi everyone i am new here and i have a serious problem with my focus 2005 1.6 tdci engine. i have a major leak on top of my engine.it appears to be oil but i am not sure.i changed the injectors seals twice but the problem still exists i changed the the top cam cover seal also.so now what should i search next?i am desperate cause i went to many different garages and noone seems to can find the problem.also is it normal to have oil in the pipe that goes from the engine back to the intake pipe?
  11. Oil Leak, Gearbox

    Hi, hope I'm doing this right as I'm new to this forum. I have just bought a Fusion 2 TDCi with zero history and 108k miles. I've been cheaking it over and preparing it for use. Whilst engine sounds lovely (as lovely as a direct injection diesel ever sounds) it's clear the car has been run on a tight budget by an uncaring owner (filthy interior, cheap tyres, oil looks dirty, etc) Faults/issues found so far: 1. Weird noise from 'clutch' as u pull away, disapears when clutch is fully released. Assuming clutch release bearing , not overly conserned, I'm assuming it'll get a lot worse before it's terminal! 2. Fan only works in position 4 & engaginging 4 extingishes the air con light I'm assuming 4 only simply means the resistor pack has overheated and blown its thermal resistor. I've located and removed this (omg it's well hidden), I didn't bother testing it, just ordered a replacement as they so cheap. I've also cleaned the pollen filter as I'm aware these are often the cause of the resistors overheating (I will replace this very shortly when I give the car a full service). Hopefully air con will be ok once the replacement resistor arrives. 3. I understand the timing belt is 150 000 miles/10 years changes, so I guess it's never been done. Is it worth changing the water pump at the same time? If it brakes; is it a dead engine, or is it a 'safe' engine? 4. I seem to have an oil leak from the gearbox area :( See picture below... Any ideas? Is there a gearbox dipstick? Thanks, Daisy x
  12. I recently had my Cambelt replaced on my Focus privately - which also 'caused' (somehow) a idle problem with my engine which was solved by cleaning the MAF and throttle body. However I now have an oil leak - pretty bad to be honest. I have replaced the Rocker Cover Gasket which I originally thought was the problem and this is not the problem. The oil is spraying onto everything just above the sump level. I have checked the timing belt aswell as the drive belt to see if there a was leak or if it was spraying off which it was not. I got under the car and saw it virtually pouring out of a small hole just above the sump - I do not know many parts so not to good at identifying. ^ This is where the oil is pouring out. My Oil Pressure light never came on when my oil was really low, In my attempt to find the Oil pressure sensor - I cannot, someone did suggest this might be it? which would indicate why the light never came on. http://youtu.be/O81QniMGWC4 ^ the hole the oil is pouring out and other places I found oil leaks. Please could someone help me identify what this could be? (A bolt was screwed in to help identify what hole was leaking). Thank you for your time!(s) and sorry for my naivety.
