Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hello all Ford Owners Club members, We're most well known for our signature ATB Differential, the definitive traction enhancer, chosen by Ford Motor Company in all three generations of Focus RS. Our selections include synchro, dog engagement and sequential designs. Just to let you know, we also produce a selection of FWD sequential gearkits, suitable for the IB5, M66 and MMT6 transmissions, detailed here: http://quaife.co.uk/ford-front-wheel-drive-gearkits/ Feel free to contact us below or connect with us on social media if you have any questions http://quaife.co.uk/contact-quaife/ Kind regards, Edward Quaife Engineering Ltd
  2. So. First of all, apologies for my absence and lack of posting. With the FOC app being completely dead & the Tapatalk one being close enough I had almost forgotten about the forum. Alas, I'm back! And I'd like to introduce my new car to you all. I'm sad to say the mk6 has now been sold on to a family member who has it for sale again to make some profit -_- This is my 2014 Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0. I hoped for a 2016 one but I somehow ended up with a more expensive 2 year old.. Don't ask 😂 It has 125ps (123bhp) currently. I've already fitted an AS stage 2 induction kit with cold air feed and it made a noticeable improvement to throttle response and no real difference to fuel economy Next to come is an AIRTEC stage 2 intercooler & a custom stainless exhaust with sports cat. Then the car will spend a day with REVO for a Stage 2 map leaving it with around 180bhp! Not bad for £0 road tax. It has 17" alloys from the factory and wind reflectors courtesy of its first owner! Compared to the mk6 it handles like a go cart & in a straight line is more than enough go.. although it could stop better (ST rear axle?) Next up will be some Japanese racing wheels.. possibly JR11s? Possibly lower it a little more then job done. Paintwork wise, it's had a full correction which almost drove me crazy & been coated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light & Exo v2. I use Kleen freaks glass cleaner & sealant on the glass which acts as a rain repellant (available on the website). I've fitted 5k LED sidelights & 5k 55w HIDs into the dipped beam. massive improvement over standard. Now I just need to sort an LED replacement for the DRL/high beam. I've already changed all 6 indicators to silver ones, possibly my first modification if I remember right. I've left the interior lighting alone as compared to the mk6 I quite like to warm feeling. I may possibly replace the filament bulbs for warm LED ones in the future I'm not sure. It's nice to have footwell LEDs from the factory though. And a rear roof light! I've fitted genuine fiesta mats all around & protected the whole interior with Gtechniq I1 Smart fabric to help keep it clean & fresh! On a sidenote, does anyone else hate "easy fuel"? I often seem to splash when pulling out which can be awkward
  3. First off all sorry if this is the wrong section to add this, I've literally just joined. I am wanting to upgrade my MK3 titanium x focus diesel 1.6 performance and need some help on limitations and whats worth doing and what's not. I want better sound if possible and looking to fit a exhaust system, any ideas? Places to buy and/or fit also? Also want a remap and looking to upgrade the turbo etc but not sure where to go? And of it's worth it? Also any small changes I can make that will improve Performance? Thanks in advance and again sorry if this is the wrong section. Matt
  4. Best aftermarket website

New to this site so hi everyone. Been looking through the posts and can't find what I'm after so this is the reason for this. I'm looking for a website or brand what basically will cover most parts of the fiesta mk7 2010, I'm just looking at improving all parts including suspension(drop links, anti roll bars, ball joints etc) all components for the brakes. Basically everything except the whole engine and chassis lol, would do a few things to engine but not much as is only a 1.25 zetec. Any help or links would be very much appreciated
  5. Hi gang, Has anyone had any experience of replacing the stock panel air filter and box on a MK2.1.6TDCI with a cylindrical performance filter like the K&N 57s-4000? I could opt for the box-free cone but I'm much more excited by the idea of the cylinder. I'm mainly wondering if the airbox lid of the K&N would be a direct fit to the existing box, and if any additional piping would be necessary. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Sam.
  6. Back box

I have recently bought myself a 2010 Fiesta Zetec S and I want to put a performance back box on it I don't want to spend a lot of money but I want it to be top quality what do you guys suggest?
  7. Performance Upgrade

Evening all, I've recently had my Fiesta150 remapped but it isn't that noticeable to me. Remap apparently increased BHP by 10-15%. I've been looking at induction kits but don't really know where to go from here. Can anyone recommend if this would be worth the money. Can you feel a decent increase in performance? Also, would an induction kit effect the sound? Ta
  8. So, new year and new upgrade plans. Just wanted to hear the thoughts of anyone who has these in their cars: 1. Focal Performance PS165 2 New: Focal Performance PS165FX Is the new material in the FX worth the price bump from the PS165. I have no way of hearing them myself in person and I can only rely on reviews off the internet. So far, no decent review on the FX but it did win some awards, so it can't be half bad. Also, I found this off Ebay and was wondering if it would fit my MK2.5 even though it is meant for the MK2: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-Mk2-Custom-Fit-MDF-10-Sub-Box-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Bass-/360623710681 Plan would be to get the sub enclosure and also get this JL Audio 10" sub to pair it up with: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JL-Audio-10w0v3-4-10-Inch-25cm-300-Watts-4-ohm-Car-Sub-Subwoofer-/181082630165?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2a295da815 Any suggestions regarding front speakers and 10" sub woofers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
  9. Hi I've been looking at a custom exhaust for my 2l petrol zetec s mk2.5 and came across Piper performance pre made exhausts on deamon tweaks had a couple of questions; Has anyone used these or fitted them before I assume they are a straight swap. How do they sound? And with my zetec s body kit will I need the standard and ms rear bumper designed one or the st designed one. Any help would be great :)
  10. I was using Ford Focus Zetec 2003 5Door manual petrol, which give me 10.5 MPL on motor way (Tesco Unleaded) Now I just changed car to 2013reg - Ford Focus Zetec 2013 5 Door Manual Petrol. This is giving me 8MPL on motor way (Tesco Unleaded) I do lot of travel that makes lot of difference to me. I have three questions please 1. Am I not allowed to use Unleaded95? Fuel cap sticker written Super Unleaded, Super Premium. And manual says minimum 95Ocatane. Please suggest 2. Car seems to be struggling to pickup quickly while mergin to motorways, means it takes more time to reach from 50mph to 70mph though more gas given. Also this doesn't pickup good in the uphills. Please suggest
  11. VLOG: What is it Like to Drive The New Ford Focus ST? Today I drove the new Ford Focus ST and I can say this car is really good for what you are paying for! Check my full review below... Thanks https://youtu.be/n7jV-XPeQ_s
  12. Hey folks, Just a handy post here for some I'd imagine, it's the time of year when Mountune do a 12 day sale on their various bits and bobs in case anyone didn't know or had forgotten. The sales are generally decent and this year they seem to be doing things for a range of vehicles on each day, rather than just 1 thing for 1 specific vehicle like they did last year. I'll try and keep this updated but work schedule may interfere a bit but check out their Facebook page and website for up-to date details. They update at 09:00 every morning on that days deals. December 1 - Mountune Springs - 20% off all springs for the Focus Mk3 ST, Fiesta Mk7(.5) and the ST180. ST180 ones end up at £140 which is a steal if you're into lowering your car. December 2 - Induction Hoses - 20% off all induction hoses for all Fiesta Mk7's and Focus Mk2's and 3's including facelift. December 3 - Sound Symposer Delete - 20% off all symposer delete kits for Fiesta ST 180, Focus Mk2 ST and RS and Mk3 ST pre-facelift.

  14. Hi Folks, First up this is my first post, in fact my first owners club and first forum... Okay, I recently bought a 2007 Mondeo Mk4 1.8 TDCI and was told by a friend to install a performance chip for better fuel economy and performance. My first question was, are they not a scam? and was told no they do work...!! My second question was do they not just trick the on board computer putting your engine and other parts (turbo etc) under unnecessary stress and cause them to fail? Again I was told no they don't exceed manufactures settings..! My third question was, so why don't Ford just have the best settings for their cars? and I was told its so one engine like mine has a variant from roughly 100-125Bhp so they can tempt you from the base model to the more powerful... (This I'm not so sure about... anyone?????) I then started to look and research the options, and there's tons! ranging from; OBD(2) boxes that plug in under the dash like this one (hope attaching links are ok?) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Performance-Chip-Tuning-Box-OBD2-ECU-Remap-Ford-B-Max-C-Max-Escort-Diesel-/111816484151?hash=item1a08c82537:g:kfkAAOSwLVZVuoBL PRICE £110 Then There's Diesel Tuning Box Chip that plug in under the bonnet to the to the fuel rail like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Mondeo-TDCi-Diesel-Tuning-Box-Chip-up-to-2008-/331537251467?hash=item4d3128fc8b:g:rj4AAOxy4dNS4p9S PRICE £80 On the Variation of this and on various forums there are links to REMAPPING from Spider Performance boxes from £200-£375 each http://www.dieseltuning.co.uk/ Or Superchips £359 http://www.superchips.co.uk/ Or Drakebox £80 http://www.drakebox.co.uk/ On there sites there are hundreds of testaments and great reviews and I know even on here there could be bias based on affiliation or even website key word monitoring... (Yeah I'm very skeptical) But if these really work, which one should I go for OBD2, Fuel Rail, Remap, and which make, and why that over others.. There's not a lot of information on reviews or tests in either google or you-tube... so I started looking at forums and owners clubs and I have finally arrived here! I hope my post doesn't contravene any posting rules, I did skim over them. I really would like to here honest and useful thoughts on everything above before I shell out my hard earned cash. Many thanks Madmac :)
  15. Hi all, First time I've ever posted on here! Was hoping for some advice😆 I will bring you up to speed! I recently bought a 1.25 Ford Fiesta edge 2012 plate so it's a mk 7 I think, I have bought this car on finance and as it was my first decent car I got excited and didn't research properly I then found out there was two of these cars made one that had 49 bhp and other with 70 bhp I think this is the numbers! I bought the slower of the two! I was wondering if anyone knows what the difference between the cars are? Is it the ecu? Is it the air intake? If this information is even true? I was also wondering if I could put a 1.0 ecoboost turbo on this car to give it a little more pull? Or is it going to be very expensive to do so? Just thought the 1.25 engine would be able to handle the turbo for a 1.0! I might be mistaken though! Thanks for any help or advice in advanced
  16. Hey guys, I'm looking at taking the next step to my Fiesta Zetec and giving her performance upgrades such as a brand new induction kit, cobra exhaust and an ECU remap. Is there any other ways to increase horsepower, top speed, 0-60 time etc. Also any visual mods, my car currently has... Back 3 window tints St seats Blue interior light A few stickers An exhaust that I got when buying her (Not sure what type but definitely needs upgraded) Not a lot but makes a huge difference. Thanks, Jonny.
  17. Hey guys After deciding to keep my 1.4 ford fiesta zetec I now want to start making look and perform better, I'm talking after-market spoilers, front splitter, alloys, exhaust system etc. However I'm not to sure where to find the RIGHT stuff to go on it, does anyone have a website where I can buy all this fancy after market stuff (ps I'm still undecided on whether or not to make it an ST replica. Please note the car has already been lowered with red springs and has a sony after market stereo system set up with Bluetooth so that work does not need doing. Pictures of how the car is NOW are below, please leave any website or places for me to get hold of some stuff I'd like to mod the car with and by all means leave opinions on any ideas you think I should do to make the car look and perform better.
  18. Timing Belt And Performance

Just had the timing belt done, including aux belt, water pump and recharge air con - car 8 years old and 105k miles. Should I notice any difference in the way it drives compared to just before it going in for the job? I have to say I didn't notice anything on the short drive home from the garage. One other thing, the garage ran the car at idle with the bonnet up for a good hour and a half after doing the job - is that normal and just to check that everything is ok? Can't think of any ofther reason and only saw it on the dashcam afterwards so couldn't ask them.
  19. Mk5 Mods

Hey all, I'm new to the forum I have a MK5 fiesta flight 1.3. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me some good mods to get better performance out of it. Without spending too much. Thanks =)
  20. 2014 Fiesta Titanium Upgrade

Hi everybody , I have a new 2014 Fiesta Titanium 1.5ltr Diesel Engine. I want to upgrade my car and start trying out and learning however all the parts I'mfinding are for Fiesta ST's. Any idea of which parts are compatible and maybe some tips on my diesel engine Ford ? Thanks.
  21. Hi all, I'm in now way a boy racer for starters. I have recently become interested in improving the shed of a focus (mk1 Zetec SE, Lefthand drive) I've been driving for the last two years. In this time it has never been serviced, passed 2 MOT's and noticed it was getting horrible to drive. I decided to look at how to make it a little better and over the last few days I've changed the oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs. This was all after changing the bonnet as the paint had been ruined by bird crap while the car was sat in Rome for three months under a tree. Now the car is running a lot smoother and seems to be doing better on fuel, I am looking at other ways to improve performance without it sounding like a typical boy racer car. I've looked at air induction kits as they seem to say they improve performance throughout the RPM range and as long as you don't drive like a boy racer it's good for fuel consumption. Is there such thing as a quiet induction kit? They all seem to say they give a louder throaty sound and I'm kind of trying to avoid that. Also if anyone has any advice on how to improve performance in general it would be much appreciated. Cheers, Mike.
  22. Hi guys. This is a bit of a strange one this............ I thought I would try using V-Power diesel in my new car (only had it a month) to see if I could notice any benefits over supermarket fuel as in smoother engine, increased MPG etc etc I accidentally put something called NITRO+ in by accident as I didn't realise Esso did anything other than just V-Power. Gutted when I had filled the tank (extra 8p per litre) :( I didn't notice anything straight away but after doing around 30 miles, the car seems much more responsive low down the revs, smoother power delivery and "feels" like improved boost. That isn't the strange thing though..... Not long after buying the car, I was leaving Ikea and was stuck in traffic slowly going around a round-about in second gear and its as if the engine didn't like me holding low revs in second and started to judder (wasn't labouring) so I dipped the clutch and increased revs and all seemed ok. The Engine Management Light came on within half a mile of driving but didn't seem to cause any issues so I carried on and have been driving with the M.I.L on ever since. (no codes show on self test trick). I have been using the NITRO+ for 2 days now and all of a sudden, the M.I.L has just vanished off the display??? Could it all just be coincidence that I filled up with some fancy expensive diesel then 2 days later, an M.I.L that has been illuminated for 3 weeks suddenly goes out with my car seeming so much mire responsive etc etc. This is only the second time I filled up by the way with the first being standard Tesco diesel. Any thoughts guys? Is it just pure coincidence?? Am I going mental?? (don't answer that)!! :D Sorry for the long post..
