Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Insurance

I'm 18 years old and I'm currently with Tesco Bank Box insurance. Which means I have a black box to monitor my "driving skills" as such. I paid £1440 for my first year of driving and that year is coming to and end next month. I'd like to know what insurance companies that other young drivers on here are using. What are the best places to go with price wise? And do you also have black boxes?
  2. Headlight Tinting!

Hi, I'd really like to tint my headlights but some people say it's illegal and some say it's fine! I don't want to do anything that will get me pulled. Does anyone know about tinting headlights and where I can get them done or buy the tint myself? Thanks in advance
  3. Sorry If this is in the wrong place, I'm new to the forum. I have had a recent issue with my car and was hopefully wondering if someone could help me. The problem is when my car is started it seems to stutter, causing the revs to drop very slightly each time it stutters. It also happens when driving but not at high revs. I thought the problem was due to the cold in winter as its the first time I've owned it in the winter, but I am still having the problem. It's a very slight stutter and didn't really seem much of an issue as later in the day I had no problem, but the engine light has recently come on and I'm thinking its probably a bit more serious then I initially thought. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what it may be?. Cheers in advance .
  4. Question Re: Cruise Control

Hello FOC'ers, New to the forum as I've just picked up a 2011 Fiesta 1.6 TDCi Titanium. I'm really liking it so far, but I have a problem with the cruise control. I see it's a regular thing on these boards but I can't find an answer to what I'm about to ask... Try as I might, I can't seem to get CC to go into standby mode. If I mashed wildly at the buttons, it comes on maybe 1 in 50 attempts. Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to get the steering wheel-mounted CC buttons out of the steering wheel? Since my problem is intermittent, I suspect a good blast of contact cleaner might help, but I can't find a decent way of getting the contact cleaner where I suspect it needs to go. ANY tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, J
  5. Hi everyone, on my way home today i lost the little cover on the rear of the rear left window of my Fiesta mk5 5-door. Does anyone know what it is called or where i can get one? (circled in red)
  6. Hello people I'm a new member to this I have just brought my first car as iv not long past my test and I brought the focus zetec S, i love it as it looks amazing and it's quite nippy (surprising as it's only a 1l 3 pot engine!) I thought with it being an Eco boost it wouldn't be cheep to insure but I was wrong haha as it cost me 3000£+ for my first year!😩 but back to the point is there anything I can do to get a bit more out this engine?, and I don't have the lights with the DRL(daytime running lights) can I just buy the lights and straight swap? As in will they fit or are the fittings totally different? Any help would be great! New member adam😁 And this is my beauty😁
  7. When Is My Service Due?

Hi All, Hope you can help! I recently bought a 61 plate Fiesta 1.4 Diesel, I've never had a car worth servicing before so I'm a total novice in this area. I looked at the discussion board but coudln't find the answer anywhere. I've looked up the service schedule and I understand that its every year or every 12,500 miles, whicheer is first. I bought the car in February last year at which point it was two years old and had done 9,000 miles (give or take 500 miles). It has two stamps in its service book, each for the yearly service. I do considerably more miles that the previous owner, so 7 months later it has now done 22,000 miles in total. According to the service schedule the third service is at 37,500 miles or 3 years. This would suggest that my next service will be some time in march next year. However, I have now done over 12,500 miles since the last service meaning that the car should be due a service. The question: Is my car due a service now or is it due one at 3years/37,500 miles? Any help would be massively appreciated. Cheers
