Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. I'm looking at buying a 2014 or newer focus but the deciding factor might be the roof rack options. I notice the plastic trim on the focus roof, what are those trim pieces for? It looks like they can be removed to have some kind of permanently installed / factory installed roof rack rails. I do a lot of outdoor sports, canoeing, mountain biking, skiing and I've always got a rack on my car. I don't like those after market racks where the feet sit on the roof with the hooks that go behind the door seal to keep it on. My experience is that it always damages the paint. Does anybody know if it is possible to get factory installed rails on the regular hatchback version. I've seen them on the estate version but not on the hatchback. Oxter
  2. I am in the process of replacing my Mk3 Mondeo estate with a Mk4 estate, probably a 2014/14 plate. I need to fit roof bars and a roof box to it so will get one with roof rails. Having looked at a few it seems the later Mk4s come with solid rails that you can't get your hand under. I presume earlier Mk4s came with rails like on my Mk3 with the gap underneath. Some googling suggests that these solid rails that run the full length of the roof are just cosmetic and not load bearing, however they have a small lip on each side suggesting a suitable roof bar foot would grip it. The design change within the life of the Mk4 makes buying roof bar feet a bit confusing. Please can somebody with a late vintage Mk4 with solid rails confirm that you can get roof bars to attach to it, and if so what bars did you use. The solid rails look like those in the this photo.
  3. Hey, just wondering if somebody could help me out with some MK6 knowledge? My rear seat in my MK6 Fiesta has seen better days and i am wanting to replace it, iv searched for MK6 seats and cant find any in good condition for a reasonable price so am wanting to expand my search, what other seats will fit? iv been told MK5 fit but cant find concrete evidence to back this up? and also Puma's? is there any Fiesta guru's out there to confirm these and let me know if anything else will fit? Thanks in advance, Lucy x x (i'm also kinda picky and realise i will need front and rear to get them to match, but need one's that tilt as mine is 3 door)
