Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. I have a Ford FiestaLX 2003 petrol. It's getting pretty cold now and the last 2 days my car has not been starting properly. When I start the engine the revs go up and then normally they drop down to about 1, but at the moment they go all the way to 0 and the car doesn't start. the only way I can get the car moving is by using the accelerator to force more revs so it will move. however, when I stop the car at the junction right by my house, it doesn't stall, it just stops. I have no idea what the problem could be, a friend of mine suggested it could be the choke, but I don't know where the choke is on my car. any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Louie
  2. Hello guys new here just looking for some help on my focus OK so I drove it all day no problem parked it up jumped into it as usual the next day tried to start the car (push button)And nothing all lights on the dash come on you can hear clicks going on but still nothing battery is brand new 2 weeks old I did a test in the engine fuse box with a wire were the starter relay would be to check if the starter motor was dead but no engine turns over as if it wanted to start as normal i have also tried jump start obviously i can only think it's some kind of electrical problem some were any body had this problem?
  3. ;Dear fellow Fiesta owners,I have been driving a Ford Fiesta Mark VI which I purchased in 2010.I have been facing trouble to start the engine lately. After turning the key to start the engine, there is no kick in the engine whatsoever. This is a video of the many attempts at starting the engine: However, after the 5th attempt or so, I would hear this clicking and grinding noise (Noise begins at 0:05 mark and ends at 0:19 in video below) which continues even after I remove the key from the ignition. After the noises stop and when I attempt to start the engine again, the engine would be able to start as usual. But the 'check engine' light would remain lighted (have a listen at the noise before I was able to start the engine up). After being able to start the engine once, I am able to start it again. However the problem would come back again after a drive and when I park it and try to start it again. It is unlikely that this problem is cause by a weak battery since I recently changed the battery to a new one about 3 months ago. This problem would come and go but it has been going on everyday for the past week. Not sure what seems to be causing it.As of to date, I have only encountered one other problem which is with the gearbox computer. Swapped it out and it has been working well.Has any of you faced this problem before? Do let me know! Thanks!
  4. This is a bit of an ongoing problem with my 2007 Mk6 Ford Fiesta (semi-automatic transmission, if that makes any difference...). It's extremely intermittent; the last time I had an issue with it was probably about six months ago, and it's started fine every time between then and now, but every now and again, when I turn the ignition key, instead of turning over the engine just makes this long, pronounced "wheezing"/grinding sound for as long as I turn the key… A mechanic I took it to one side he simply cleaned some of the battery terminals with a wire brush and that seemed to alleviate the issue, but I'm wondering if that was actually a fix or just a temporary thing/coincidence. Lights/wipers/everything works fine and it's a -1yr old battery so I'm assuming it's not that? This short video will hopefully explain what happens better than my text could: https://youtu.be/hYDvo1zApEc Anybody know what that sound is?? Could it be the starter or something?
  5. My 2013 ford fiesta 1L ecoboost's start stop isnt working, the button to turn it on and off just stays illuminated when pressed, you can turn the light off when the ignition is on but as soon as you start the car the light comes on and you cannot turn the light off, and therefor the start stop isnt working. any advice thanks
  6. Hi, so just went to start my car and no luck. Weird. It was fine when I left it!! So I push the start button and nothing is happening. Weirdest part is, the little display on the dashboard is not showing anything either except time and milage. Its not displaying that the doors open, that the keys missing. Nothing in the middle bit. Its just showing this (below) and its also not dimming, even when the cars locked the dashboard display still stays light! Its a Ford Focus MK2.5 2011 Zetec S btw!
  7. Fiesta Lx Wont Start?

HI, THIS MORNING MY FIESTA WOULDN'T START! I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE COULDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM EITHER. AFTER A WHILE HE FIGURED ITS THE BATTERY. THE BATTERY HAS ENOUGH POWER TO MAKE THE ENGINE TURN AND NEARLY START BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH FOR THE ELECTRONICS THUS IT WONT START! TOOK THE BATTERY OUT - GIVE IT FULL CHARGE OF POWER IT'LL TURN ON - GIVE IT LESS IT WONT! BUT THE BATTERY LOOKS NEW SINCE I BROUGHT IT SHOULD I CHANGE THE BATTERY OR JUST CHARGE THIS ONE UP FULLY AND SEE HOW IT GOES? ALSO HOW MUCH ROUGHLY WOULD IT COST FOR A NEW BATTERY FOR THIS CAR AND WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED ONE? THANKS
  8. Hi, First post - having trouble with my Mk2 Focus: Owning a mk2 2005 1.6 Ti-VCT Focus Estate, the engine has recently developed troubles while starting. The engine starts to spin, but it just doesn't get going. At first it happened 1-2 times a week, then during a day. And now I have to start it 3-4 times before the engine properly starts. Doesn't matter if the car has been parked in the garage for the whole day and night, or if I just parked it for 5min and am starting it up again. A few times it starts immediately again, but lately that's rarely the case. Are there any suggestions, if there's something I could do in my own garage, check or swap something on the engine? I'm not that knowledgable when it comes to car-tech unfortunately... I will upload a video of the starting in a fewminutes, hopefully that helps. EDIT: Small video I recorded regarding this problem: http://youtu.be/eO7sUpFu22Q Thanks in advance!
