escort oil lite prob

hello,

in need of sum help i hav an escort LX 1.4 1991 MK4/5 iv gotan oil lite that comes on when idleing, then again when i brake in a higher gear like 5th at 50mph down to 30mph the oil cums on an then again if i say stop at round abouts as u slow down it seems to lite up, yet iv changed all gaskets (head, sump, cam box oil seal in head new stem seals) iv put a new oil sender in bt just dnt know what else to try <_< :( <_<

can anyone put sum lite on this subject for me plz?? :unsure:

when an oil lite comes on, it means one thing only, that your oil level is low. so in your case the oil is at the rite level untill u brake, thats wen the oil pushes forward away from level senser and reads no oil, once you pull of again it will be force to the back and touching the senser, saying it's ok. the only other thing i can think it can be is your oil is way to thin so it splashes about in the sump.

that's all i can think it is mate.

Hi,

My oil light used to flash like your describing on my Escort cabby it was a doggy oil sensor as the oil level was fine.
