I went out today for a nice little drive and to listen to some new music i put onto my ipod. Was driving round some country lanes was doing about 50 (which was ok as it was national) and a bird was walking in the road(as they do) and it flew up and caught my wing mirror. anyway the thing was in pieces all over the road. i will upload some pictures tomo, when it is a bit of sunlight.

anyway does anybody know how much it is going to cost for a replacment? it will have to be the whole thing not just the glass

My Dad once had a pheasant fly into the front of his Escort - it was one of the last Escorts, the one with a very narrow "slit" type grille and a low bonnet... Caused a football sized dent about 2" deep in the front of the bonnet just above the Ford badge, the whole bonnet had to be replaced! Pheasant came off nearly as badly as the car though!

In the car I drove before my Fiesta (which I changed yesteday :P) I was driving along at 40-50 in some country roads with my window open about two inches... a sparrow hit the edge of the door, killing itself, then landed on my lap.

Wasn't any damage but it was a bit weird, I just knocked it off my lap and carried on until I could stop to get it out lol.

I've got bits of passenger side mirror in Ocean Blue - the blue cover is missing a clip on one side, but the mirror glass looks fine. If you want them for postage plus the price of a pint you can have - considering the whole assembley costs almost 200 quid!

OMG! I so wouldve crashed if a dead sparrow had landed on my lap! :o
