Put the VIN into www.etis.ford.com? Should be a bit that tells you the territory, for example mine says:

Territory: (+)"GB"

Surely that only tells you for which country the car was made for.

I'm pretty certain that European Focci were built in Portugal. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You can tell which factory your car was built in from the VIn number.

I did this breakdown for the fiesta section of the board.Fiestas are built in Germany and Spain.

The basics are exactly the same for any car made by ford europe.

I will try to get a focus breakdown if any one wants one.

Your Vin will look somethng like this

WFOJXXGAJJ9R12345

WFO means ford europe

J is 5 door (G is 3 door)

x

x these two are not used on cars

G is for Germany (location of factory)(W=spain)

A This is the factory ,within the country (A=cologne,P=Valencia)

J This is the model type (Fiesta)

J this is a check repeat of letter 4 in the sequence

9 this indicates built in 2009

R This is the month of build

12345 the12,345th fiesta to be built at the indicated factory,in the month shown

Just because something was built in Germany does not mean it is built well, my uncles VW is proof of that. Regardless of where the Focus is made, it will be made with the same materials and in the same way as specified by Ford. Its probably weaknesses in design/use of cheap materials that contribute to failures as opposed to where the car was built.

A lot of VW cars are not built in Germany any more,

Theres a golf factory in Brussels by the eurostar line,

the estate golf and Beetle and jetta all come from Mexico.

The fox is brazil

polo is spain

touareg is slovakia

They also build the audi a3 at the brussels factory.
