ani
Hello, I'm in the process of getting a new secondhand engine for Fiesta Finesse X Reg (September 2000) I've managed to find one but he tells me it has a silver rocker cover and Endura written on it. However my engine has a black rocker cover and nothing written on it!! Does it matter? I'd be really grateful if anyone can advise s I don't want to get the wrong one delivered and have to sent it back. Many thanks in advance :) It's a 1299cc 8 valve engine with metal sump. james_60
Hi There are two types types of 1.3 engine as far as i know of. The first is a 1.3v8vValve Pushrod Valencia/Kent/HCS/Endura E The Second is a 1.3 8 valve SOHC (Duratec) and was used in the post 2002.75 KA and the 2002-3 MK6 Fiesta. Assuming your car is of standard fair you require the first option. Wikipedia is full of info see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratec_engine#Duratec_8v Also for the engine you need http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Kent_engine Jamie
ani
Thanks Jamie that's really useful information. The one thing that is bugging me is the fuss he made over the colour of the rocker cover. He had two engines - one with a silver cover with Endura written on it (which I think would have been the one) however because my existing engine has a black rocker cover he said I should have one the same otherwise the fuel management system wont be he same. Ayway it's arriving on Monday morning so it will be a shame if i have to return it. At the end of the day as I gave him all the information on the car he shoud be able to supply the correct one. Thank again for getting back to me. Ani Hi There are two types types of 1.3 engine as far as i know of.
