Ford Fiesta Mk4 98 (S reg).
The touch up kit I got from my local car spares shop is not quite right.
The description is Nouveau Red but I would like to know the exact paint code so I can purchase the correct colour.
I have been told that it should be specific down to the paint batch used by the manufacturer.
Please can someone tell me what Im looking for and where?
The Aluminium plate has the following info:
Z: E13*95/54*0009*06
DH: *WF0BXFBAJBWT2783*
K: 1450
2: 2350
TN: 770
XW: 740
1: JBS

Are any of these the paint code?

Many Thanks in advance :)

On the VIN plate under the bonnet, there are groups of numbers/letters along the left hand side.

The second from bottom is the paint code :D

Hi,
Thanks for your help, but the number you refer to has a kg designation next to it and a value of 740.
Because of this, I assumed it was a weight of some sort; am I mistaken?

The row you refer to has the title 'XW.

In fact, the rows titled K, 2, TN & XW all have kg designations.

Why do Ford paint codes need to be so complicated? Surely a simple numeric code relating to a specific colour would do it or aren't there enough numbers available?

I want to get some touch up paint (small bottle with brush and a spray) for my daughter's Y reg silver fiesta, maybe from Halfords or similar, and I can't find what the descriptive colour is. eg moondust silver.

The code on the VIN plate is 61 - can anyone help please or should I go to Ford and ask them for some paint?

Thanks

IIRC the first number /letter refers to the colour.
the second number is the year the colur was launched.

The colour in your case is 6 the year is 2001

Halfords will have a book cross referencing the codes and colour names.

Each model range uses different codes,ie a 2009 fiesta in ocean blue would have a different code to a 2009 focus in the same colour.

Some people on here have found the colour variant using the ford ETIS system
