Cd Player Upgrade

Hi I have just purchased a CD6000 radio to put in my 1998 Focus, but it does not have the same connections on the back as the radio cassette that has been removed.

Consequently the control's on the steering wheel do not operate the unit, on the back of the unit there appear to be 6 pins in the middle between the speaker block and the power supply block.

Is there a way of wiring this unit up to these terminal and to the wiring connector in the loom so the steering wheel controls will work again.

Any help appreciated

Neil

there should be a wire that connec to the backof youre old one a blue one i believe with a plug on it otherwise the answer i believe is no you cant what was in it before if its the 4000 unit then after looking at my old one there is no connection i can see for the controls unlesss they are part of the middle plug which provides data etc to the head unit i wouldnt advise fiddling with that as i can find no mention of which wire is the steering control the 6 pins are data clock and ground on the lower 3

Thanks very much, There was an after market pioneer cd radio in with the filler plate which I think looks awful so I bought the 6000 hoping to upgrade and use the paddles, obviously I did not do enough research and now have the cd player in without paddle control's still it's a visual improvement on the pioneer!!!
