I have a Ford Mondeo on a 54 plate its the Ghia X TDCi 78k miles. When i accelerate the revs seem to float about by this I mean the rev counter instantly moves higher but the car does not accelerate for a few seconds. About 3k miles ago it had a replacement turbo which the company wouldnt pay for a new one so they had a reconditioned one fitted, I mention this because as I think it could have something to do with the turbo?

are there any other signs of trouble like flashing glowplug light or the sound of rushing air,the common problem is split intercooler pipes which would cause the hesitation on accelaration so check these for splits or loose connections first
