Chipping

HI,

I've just bought a (second hand) Fiesta 1.4TDCi to take advantage of the cheaper tax, the excellent fuel economy and the generally cheap running costs. It's a great little car but it is rather lacking in power so I was thinking of chipping it.

Has anyone done this already and if so, how have you found it? Has it caused you any problems? Can the car mechanicals take the extra power?

Thanks.

Or u could just get a mod chip, basically it goes on ur air intake sensor, it acts as a resistor n bascially fakes the temperature making it take more air in, now with more air bein took in more fuel needs to go in to level the balance out, doin this means u get more bhp in ur engine

blakey your an idot by using the resistor chip you get the worst mpg and also it confuses ecu which in turn can cause your engine to fail

mate just get a remap it will give u better mpg and more power

A bit harsh calling him an idiot, maybe using the resistor isnt a brilliant idea but each to their own!

To be perfectly honest your not going to get much more power out of a 1.4 tdi! If you do its only going to bring down the fuel economy.
