Hi guys I am just starting out in the car world and im finding it really hard to get a cheap car insurence qoute :'( for my fiesta its an :

If you can, try to put your parents on your policy as named drivers. Some others on here have done so and found some considerable discount.

Look on the long insurance thread on website "www.zetecs.com", where you will find firms that specialise in taking money from very young drivers, then dump them, often charging £1500/year or more for a car such as yours, at your age. A low risk area helps, and a parent or girlfriend also on the policy, and some voluntary excess. A lot of these youth-friendly firms are very bad when claims arise, some won't pay up for damage to your vehicle, when it is your fault, and non-U.K. claim-centres are a PAIN!! Some big firms have poor customer feed-back, which you can read up on, on Insurance search engines, after you have got a list of quotes from them.

My Son has stayed with N.U.Direct, who are now called Aviva, and have an Indian call-centre, but he did not get cover until 25 year-old (£700 for a 10 year old Civic 1500) Last year cover was £350 for 6 year old SEAT IBIZA 1.2 5 dr, worth £3500, with his girlfriend, with provisional license, as named driver, in Aberdeen.

The Zurich-owned Brokerage, Endsleigh, specialise in students, and have U.K. call-centre and H.Q. They are fine with older folk also, but there are some firms who avoid people beyond 45 year-old, but some firms give over-50's £150/year comprehensive cover, with my Wife's new Aygo, or my new 1.25 Fiesta, with > 9 year NCB, and totally clean claim history.

My first car was a Peugeot 106 1.1 5dr P reg 1996. Worth 400 quid, if that to be fair. insurance cost me 1600 quid on my own put my parents on and it dropped considerably to 1100 quid, with 1 years ncb i now drive a focus 1.6 zetec X plate and that is a 1000 quid each year.

My advice would be to put your parents on or a responsible adult/s preferably female, put your mileage to 5000 a year lets be honest in your first year your not going to mars and back, well you might but I didn't and insurance company stated if I put it at 5000 instead of 10000 I will drop lower and it did to be fair...

keep shopping around i found Adrian flux were very cheap, you have to ring them not on the internet for quotes..
