is there any chance you can try starting it with a "Starter type battery charger" or from a neighbours car with jump leads. As it might just be a case of the battery not having enough charge in it to fire up the starter motor. Anyway I would first make sure it ain't a battery issue before buying a new starter motor.

or a bad earth connection

if you do replace - the solenoid will come as part of the motor.

the battery is fully charged as of last monday. i have taken all connections off cleaned them and rubbed them down with sand paper. since i have done that the clicking noise has become louder like more power is getting to it some how ?

sounds like your solenoid is ok but if your battery is ok then its the secondry windins in the motor so new motor or take it to an auto electrian.
