Tyres

Featured Replies

I have to buy some tyres for my escort, usually I put cheapest ones I can find on my car just to save money but now have decided to purchase some decent all rounders and would like some advice or recommendations as there are so many on the market.

I use my car quite a bit as I do some food delivery work in it, I have decided to budget upto £45 a tyre and really aprreciate any help as the tyre places I have visited seem to want to help me part with my cash more so than help me to find a good tyre.

If you can afford it, go for Toyo Proxes. Brilliant tyre in all conditions

Thanks for that, just trying to find a local supplier and fitter, seem like a good quality tyre, any others that are similar?

If you can find them there are some tyres calle Velocity Extreme's.

These are South African made Yokohama tyres, and are as good as the proxe's but on a budget price. I had these a couple years ago and in my opinion out performed the proxe's. I was paying about £25 a tyre with VAT for them.

With tyres i think you should always get the best tyres you can as they are the only part of your car that touches the road!

If you go onto websites like blackcircles, mytyres etc they will list tyres and you canhave a look at reviews.

I personally stick to makes that are tried and tested in europe such as goodyear, bridgestone, toyo etc

Thanks for your advice, I have narrowed my search down to 3 tyres but still not sure and there is only £10 difference in price.

Have any of you used any of these tyres and if it was your choice which would you choose.

Continental Eco Contact 3 - Toyo Proxes CF1 or Michelin Energy E3A.

Bear in mind I am only buying 2 for now and my priorities for buying are: wet, dry handling and braking, fuel consumption, road noise, wear.

Thanks once again for any help :D

I would go for the Toyo's if it was my choice mate. Cant go wrong.
