Stonedofmoo
Hi guys On my GF's Focus the headlamp adjuster doesn't appear to do anything at all. I was going to try changing the fuse but looking in the manual I couldn't see which one it is. Also the fan resistor pack appears to have gone as the fan only works on level 4. Does anyone have a recommendation as to the cheapest place to get a new one. Ford apparently sells them for £50 which seems like a ripoff considering it should have lasted longer than 8 years! Cheers guys :)

Stonedofmoo
Ah OK That's actually bad news as the lights work fine, and it must mean the motors themselves are gone :( Cheers for the heads up tho!
ford focus edge
My standard ford clusters are the same on the drivers side the motor just packs up! pain in the !Removed! if there not adjusted properly but if they are just keep shh about it :P lol. Does it make any noise at all when u spin the little wheel or is it as dead as a dodo
Stonedofmoo
Nothing at all as far as I can tell. I'll have to adjust the light manually then if that's possible because the drivers light is angled straight down in front of the car. It's actually quite dangerous as you can't really see ahead of you on the drivers side, while the passenger side does a good job of lighting up the hedges for 15-20 meters ahead! I'm quite surprised on the electrics on this car. It's a 51 plate so no spring chicken, but the light motors are broke, the fan only works on 4 and a number of behind the dash bulbs have gone. I was expecting better from a modern Ford. Time to get working on it I think! :)
ford focus edge
most of that is just bulbs and fuses easy job cough cough there is a few threads on this forum about the fan heater's so that should solve that and by dash lights do u mean the dials or the fan controls etc. As for the motor cant u just nick a new headlight from a scrap yard thats got the motor on it and plug it all in then bin the one that dosent work? Mines a 04-plate and it packed in !

starfield
it is very unlikely for both motors to give up at the same time. i have got a mk2 and the adjusting headlight control does not do anything. i have been in a 'battle' with Dees of Croydon (franchised dealer) over this and they told me that this is optional and the previous owner did not opt for this. my headlights are like the 'xenon' type light. to be fair, the dealer did offer to replace the headlights with the conventional ones which i refuse because the 'xenon' type lights are really wow to look at. as for the fan problem it could be the resistor card that needs replacing. i am basing myself on my wife's nissan micra whose blower fan was just working on no. 4. after the resistor card was replaced, it worked fine
MrrNoName
im pretty sure there not an optional extra which you have to specify you want??? if they were the switch would be replaced with a blanking plate, thats like not having the optional extra of a front heated windscreen but still leaving the switch there that does nothing, cant be right
