greggp
Hi, Had an issue recently with my focus (see link here http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16572) so I saw this post and thought I'd try out the diagnostics mode on instrument panel. I have a ford focus 2008 titanium with the Red LED digital display. Did it all and worked fine - no DTC's came up - however when I was scrolling through all the othe data I noticed my engine temp said 114 C and then having driven it a few miles I did the test mode again and it showed the temp as 135 C. Is this figure the actual recorded temperature of the engine? Excuse me for being thick but what does the temperature dial next to the fuel gauge on the instrument cluster measure because the needle on this is in the centre between 60 and 120? thanks Gregg
dicodread
it works on my 2006 focus. I have no dtc codes to report but I still have the problem where my trunk open light refuses to go away once I switch on my headlights. Seems I have some kind of short that gets triggered when the headlights or park lights get enabled.

Seems I have some kind of short that gets triggered when the headlights or park lights get enabled. I had the same problem in my Mk1 Focus, It flickered but only when the headlights were on. Checked the latch sensors etc on all doors and trunk but still happened. Took the bulb out of the warning light in the end as I do a lot of motorway driving and it was very distracting. artscot79
Yeah same here. You can get used ones anywhere between £20-40 on ebay but the only thing is you will need to take it to a specialist or Ford to get the mileage on the digital dash adjusted to match the actual mileage of your car but it is not a legal requirement (but I recommend you do it lol) or you can get a brand new one off the Ford Parts UK website for just over £60 which isn't too bad actually. Liam just the cluster going into test mode a non silver calcium battery can cause it other wise as said its a new dash cluster some get worse some dont
jig
Are DTC's associated with a check engine light? as I had a CEL did the dash trick and no DTC's showed up.CEL back off again know.

Preee
Has anyone managed to get this trick to work with a Keyless Ignitiion "power start button"? Focus 2010 I tried , holding the reset button on the trip lever , "no trip reset on center dash" and starting the engine with the button continued holding for about 12 hrs and still nothing .lol. Tried placing the "key" in and doing the same , nothing happens apart from reseting the trip. BTW key does not turn so can't get II and III positions. *EDIT* - Got it to work. On keyless power start. 1)hold trip reset button in. 2)Short press half way down of the power button , displays II position lights. 3)Continue to hold trip reset button. 4)Menu comes up and click trip reset button to scroll through . When I plug them in they work but the immobiliser light flashes and car won't start can you guys help. Hi, welcome to the forum, for best results, start a nw thread for this topic in the fiesta owners section, your Fiesta is a Mk7 mate the Mk8 hasen't been designed yet, the Mk7.5 facelift is in the showrooms now. the only way i can see to fix this is to contact ford for a ecu remap, to either bond with the gauges or delete a file from the ecu so it doesnt communicate with the gauges for the immobiliser .
