When Does A Timing Chain Need Replacing

When you change the engine. It's a chain as opposed to a belt so they are designed to last as long as the engine does.

Mine has also done almost 130k so I hope this is right, I read it on a car website somewhere and my mechanic agrees.

as long as the oil changes are kept up,and the chain does not start to rattle they should be good for 170000+
