SimonC15
Air con has stopped working - ford say the air con radiator has a stone through it and is not covered by warranty and want £400 to fix it - I am a newbie - is there a separate air con radiator? is it possible for a stone to penetrate it? - shouldn't something like this be protected from road debris? - any ideas appreciated - thanks
mintalkin
yes there is a seperate rad for the aircon and they can get damaged, its hard to protect the rad due to air flow being required for the cooling. if you have got to pay try another garage you can get second hand rads for as low as £60 + £30 for regas, that only leaves fitting charges which will work out less that £400 for the whole job. Thanks very much for the info, I am looking into whether or not I can make an insurance claim and get away with just paying the excess
