I'm thinking about purchasing a variable wiper stalk (6 speed) of ebay( http://cgi.ebay.co.u...4#ht_3722wt_994 ) but was just wondering if it is just a straight swap of if it has to be programed for that vehicle, as when i was at college we where told newer cars not sure from what year, that the stalks had to be programed for that specific vehicle. Just wondering if this is thw case or if its just a straight swap.

Was just a straight swap in my mk1. Check that pin 10 has a wire coming from it in your car though as thats for the variable function. just whip the steering cowel off and you'll be able to see. But no programming required.
