BHeart
Hi I've owned my Fiesta since October 1st and after about a week or so, I noticed a low pitched squeaking from the front end whilst I was moving off and it has not gone away. Apart from it being a 'niggle', it has not really been a problem (hopefully), but I've just logged into Ford Etis and checked out the TSB's for the Fiesta and right there at the top, dated 3rd November, there is a TSB which may just be what I'm experiencing - have a look. I'd appreciate input from other Fiesta owner's who are experiencing this issue. Now, with reference to the squeak, if I contact my local dealer and inform them of the issue, am I also allowed to mention that I've seen it on the Ford Etis website? If the 'squeak' is not considered serious, then I may wait until the 1500 mile check which is due in January 2011. The reason I'm asking is because, as far as I am aware, the Ford ETIS website is only for the use of 'Ford Dealer's' and their partner's. UPDATED: Rather than start another thread, I thought I'd just raise the 'issue' in here. It is with regard to the "PowerFold Mirrors" - I've read a few posts where Fiesta owner's state that their power fold mirrors make a noise when folding in and out. My mirrors make a noise which I can hear, but they are operated by electric motors which, by their very design, will make a noise during operation. Surely this is normal? mikester
Are you a letter writer by any chance? You raise a good point however, the brake thing mite be something that affects us all. Squeaky mirrors are completely normal as they rub on the rubber window surrounds

Squeaky mirrors are completely normal as they rub on the rubber window surrounds Hi mikester Thanks for your reply in which you ask if I was a letter writer. :) No I'm not but I am good at writing letters - why say something in a couple of lines when you can say it in a dozen and explain it better and make it more understandable. :) With regard to the 'powerfold mirrors', they don't 'squeak' when they fold in/out, they make the sort of noise that you would expect an electric motor to make when in operation but, to see if my mirrors are normal, I would like to compare the noise from my powerfold mirrors with those on a different Fiesta. By the way, my mirrors don't rub the on the window surrounds - this was fixed prior to my build and is mentioned under TSB on the Ford Etis website. Yes the brake issue really ought to be affecting a lot of Fiesta owner's and I was thinking of giving the issue a thread of it's own? mick88
My Fiesta has a slight squeak from the front brake's but only get it when the car has nearly stopped, all is quiet up to this point slowing down. Brake's are fine otherwise, was going to get it looked at at the first service, was just putting it down to brake dust build up
Focus_ST-3
Interesting point you make about the brakes, I have the same problem as well. How do you "log in" to Ford ETIS to view the TSB as when I enter my registration number, no TSB's etc appear.

1an3
I didn't think you needed to register to look at your vehicle? If I click on 'Vehicle' towards the top left, I can enter my Reg and pull up the details?

Hi Yes your right, if you enter your registration or VIN, you car details will come up but, you won't be able to access detailed information like the TSB's until you register. mick88
Got the Fezza back this afternoon after it's service. Build up of surface rust on the front disc's was causing the noise. Front brake's were stripped and cleaned, pad's and carrier's copper greased. So far so good with no noise. I Started Something How is your's getting on with the new disc's and pad's, all good I hope
Magenta
Mine has had the same loud 'creaky' noise from the brakes from new. It is worse when cold but still does it when brakes are warm. It's driving me mad, especially as the major Ford dealer said "We can't do anything about that - Sir". Mine is an automatic so you have to hold it on the brakes a lot more which aggrevates the problem. I'm thinking of taking it to a brake specialist for advice even if it costs me as Ford aren't interested. I'm not that impressed with Ford servicing I must say. The sound deadening on the bulkhead under the bonnet was out of it's clips and they said " Oh, it's meant to be like that - Sir". They obviously think their customers are idiots. I have done it myself now with a struggle.
