I have a 2004 Fiesta 1.4 TDCI diesel i swopped over the cylinder head which looked identical but was off a later model 2006 car. Since then there has been no fuel getting to the engine, there is no fuel coming out of the tank to te main pump, has anyone got any ideas?

many thanks Dan

Hi Dan,

Since the fuel isnt getting to the main pump this would indicate possible air leaks in the fuel lines and/or problems with the pump supply to the engine. Carefully examine all the pipework you have disconnected ewhen replacing the head then ensure the pump is running( I am not sure which type of pump your fiesta will have but it will either be electric at the tank end or under the bonnet or a mechanical lift pump which will be a big lump on the side of the engine)If both of these are ok then you will need to bleed the system by cracking the connections on the fuel lined under the bonnet until fuel comes through the pipes. You only need to crack the connection a bout a quarter turn at most so dont go mad!! Hopefully this will resolve the issue for you.

Regards,

Mike
