Cold Legs - Blower Has Stopped - Ford Ka 1999

Hi all,

I have a ford ka 1999. My blower has stopped working. I get hot air coming through but no blowing. I have checked fuses and all appear to be good. My manual says there a realy for the blower? but I can't even find where it is. ? nd if I could how would I know its working? Anyone got any ideas what I should be looking for ??

heres your other post about the same problem, http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17076 I would say re-check the fuses, the relays are on the other side of the fuses, you have to remove two screws inside the fuse box, the fuse box drops down and then you'll see the relays.

Hi all,

Well since posting the problem with my ford ka heater blower not working, today I finally got around to looking at it.. I've now checked all I can think to check; results below....

1. resistor pack replace as it had burnt out..

2. fuse replaced.

3. electrical tests completed with the following results - with ignition turned on.

a) fuse ok power going to it

B) checked all four wires going into new resistor pack - NO power in all wires even when the switch is turned to all 4 positions.

c) checked the plug connector that fits into the fan switch in the dash - no power in all 5 wires

d) checked the wire going to the fan motor - power

Can someone help me out as I don't understand why theres no power going to the switch and/or resitior pack. Is there anything Else I should be checking ? hope some bright person out there can help me.... :(

Hey guys,

Well I have mentioned to a few people with a similar problem that it is always a good idea to check your Earth connection (to heater blower + resistor). I went through testing all power flows and they showed NO power going through to resistor or heater blower. I bought new fuses, resistors, and 2 new blowers before I found out it was in fact a faulty earth all along.

If it stops blowing hot air at any point then check your heater control valve!
