New Engine But Wont Start

hi all,

i have recently put a new engine into my (w) reg ford fiesta 1.25 i have finished it and today i went to start it but the ignition comes on but when i go to turn the car over nothing happens but the millage counter turns off untill i let go of the turn on the key, no starter motor problems can be heard. any infomation would be a great help as i am more capable on german cars :)

also i cant get to the other car which the engine came out of because its now been scrapped

its the pats stopping the engine from starting if you cant get the old ecu from the donor car and keys youll need to pay to get an auto electrician someone who can code keys and ecus to come to you and code them wont be cheap but its the only option

thanks very much great realise off my mind will it have to go to fords or can most auto electricians do it ?
